Here we go ladies - I'll C&P the stats in a tick. Don't forget to add the gender on if you find out at your scan

NizzyNoodles · 05/02/2010 10:41

gibberingginger please can you send me some of your "organisedness" as I'm not organised at the moment and really need to be!!!!!

GibberingGinger · 05/02/2010 10:44

Nizzynoodles we are going to have to buy a new car too. At the moment we have a honda civic and an ancient peugeot 205 (which has loads of sentimental value, but is really a mobile skip) We want to be able to fit 3 car seats in the back of the car and are extremely reluctant to go to a 7 seater for a variety of reasons. These include, I do't want one of the children "relegated" to the back row where they will feel left out and I want to be able to reach them. I have a feeling that the boot is a crumple zone and any rear collision would crush the child in the back. We need the boot space and a seat in the boot takes up valuable boot space. Ideally we need something with three proper seats in the back, not just a bench type seat.

We also only have a budget of 10K, so a lot of the big cars are completely ruled out. At the moment we are considering the ford Smax (though they are a bit out of budget), the citreon C4 grand picasso, and the Honda FRV. However I think it's going to take a lot of shopping. This is DH's project, my project is to find a twin buggy suitable from birth with possibly a third seat/buggy board for 2YO toddler. I don't think either of our tasks will be easy!

mampam for your poor son. at his dad for handling it do badly

NizzyNoodles · 05/02/2010 10:58

GibberingGinger we've got a Jane powertwin. It's suitable for a newborn and you can put a buggy board on the back of that for the 3rd one. My sister-in-law had one for her twin girls which was how I knew about it. If I can find a link I'll pop it on. Let me know how you get on with your car search.

wheredidmyfeetgo · 05/02/2010 11:11

GibberingGinger see now you made me feel guilty, so at long last I've added myself to the stats.

Hi all
I'm eating like a hobbit - first breakfast, second breakfast, elevenses, first lunch.... you get the picture
Thank goodness for stretchy clothes - is it twins or is it two months catch up eating after feeling so yuck for so long?!

chestnut100 · 05/02/2010 11:32

gibberingginger if lots of people give you bits and pieces to update, you can add my age of 30 (but will be 31 by time baby arrives).

Anyone got nice plans for the w/e? We are escaping london and heading to Devon to visit friends. Iam lookin forwards to it (apart from the 9 hour round train journey!)

MrsDmamee · 05/02/2010 11:34

Morning All + bump

i really shouldnt be on, ive loads to do before i ship the DS'S to Grannys.

but anyways.....
DH only just changed his car to the exact same car he had just so im hoping it will fit our 2 car seats and a teenager in the middle.
I feel sorry for ds1 who will be sandwiched between the two little ones.
mampam your poor wee DS

have to say i dont seem to be eating that much at all DH gives out at me for not eating little and often. but ive no appetiteyesterdays menu which is pretty typical
was:
1x bowl rice krispies(breakfast)
1x slice toast(breakfast)
1x minestrone soup(lunch
2x bread(lunch)
1x chicken burger(dinner)
1x salad(dinner)
2tsp's beans(dinner)
1x tiny bowl malteaser ice cream( a very rare treat)

and thats all i had no inbetween snacks
im still off biscuits and chocolate.

and the ice cream i didnt enjoy but needed it as DS2 had a massive tantrum and i needed something to help me after i got him into bed.

mampam · 05/02/2010 11:43

MrsD it's funny isn't it, now that we're PG we have to turn to food for comfort rather than a big glass of wine!!

virgo1979 · 05/02/2010 11:57

gibberingginger - can you add my stats too, due 18th june, just had scan and we didnt find out sex (its our first) so a surprise it is!

as i said, we just had the scan and everything was fine. only thing i really wanted to know length of baby (DH is really tall and just wondered if baby was going to take after him). can anyone tell me what the acronyms AC, FL and HC stand for on maternity notes - they all have a measurement next to them, and a date is 20+6 etc.
This was the first time i got emotional - was mocking DH in car for getting teary at last scan, this time it was me blubbing away!

hope you are all well x

herewegrow · 05/02/2010 11:58

Phew, glad it's not only me who is munching their way through a small mountain of food. Is it lunchtime yet?

Thanks GibberingGinger for updating the list.

GibberingGinger · 05/02/2010 12:08

AC is abdominal circumfrence, HC is head cirsumfrence and FL is femur length I think. They are all measurements to check how baby is growing.

Will update stats this afternoon.

I'm also eating for Britain but trying not to think about it! Last week all I wanted was savory stuff, so bought in loads of houmus etc, this week I don't want any of that, just want cheesecake

MrsDmamee · 05/02/2010 12:12

mampam heehee yes a drink would have been great,
or even a glass of coke, i love the stuff but its giving me shocking headaches so i had to give it up

im finding it harder and harder to find comfort(in food/drink/sleep) which is just not fun at 20 weeks as ive 20weeks still to go

Jojobil · 05/02/2010 12:17

Such exciting times! My next scan is in 11 days We did not find out with our daughter but I do want to know now. I am convinced it's another girl Although have been told that since I am feeling great it's probably a boy? With my daughter I was sick as a dog...

greensnail · 05/02/2010 13:44

poguemahome ooh you've given me great hope that my vagueness won't last forever, just until I stop bfing, whenever that will be. Thank you. I'd better not tell DH that it will improve then though as he might take it as another sign that we should be encouraging DD to stop.

mampam that's so sad, your poor DS.

GibberingGinger if you're updating stats, my age needs to change to 28 please

mampam · 05/02/2010 14:35

Think I may have to have a little talk with DS about it when he gets home from school. Poor little chap.

LaTrucha · 05/02/2010 15:11

Tut tut tut, mampam! I can't see breakfast in that list. You are flying the flag for us all! Your DS sounds adorable. Does he have a picture of Poppy? What an insenstive thing of ex to do.

DD was up until 2am, when she came in with me finally, with molars coming through and up again at 6.22am. I persuaded her to bed down with me until 7.30 but I am destroyed.

Anyone else getting really nervy about coping with those nights of broken sleep. I must confess (shall I confess something new every day ?) DH and I are not looking forward to the first year very much at all. DD had problems putting on weight at first and we had to feed her every two hours for the first three monhts. That put her in a really bad sleep pattern, not helped by terrible teething, that it took forever to break. I think I'm lookign forward to giving birth more than to that first 2am call!

LaTrucha · 05/02/2010 15:42

Oh, and I've got another great embarrassing moments of pregnancy story for hot off the press today. ..

I don't know what the weather is liek with you but it's quite nice here, so I thought I'd wear my maternity dress with the brand new maternity tights I'd bought. All looking good, until I realise, walking to Boots with very slow toddler toddling, that my tights are quickly saying goodbye to my bottom and hello to my ankles. I got to Boots as quicly as I could and hid int he most discreet part of the shop to hike them up. They fell down (and I don't mean just a bit loose - the gusset was in serious danger of appearing at the hem of my dress) THREE times on a short trip round town.

And yes I did bump into friends, and yes they did laugh.

Why are these things only happenign to me? Come on ladies! You have to have some stories to help me feel better!

LaTrucha · 05/02/2010 15:44

Oh, and the second time it happened I was in the middle of the street, no cover handy, while a beer delivery truck blocked one said eof the street and a funeral cortege slowed up the other half. The same drivers stared at me for - probably hours - while I wrestled DD into a corner and tried to save my modesty discreetly.

Nightmare.

fillybuster · 05/02/2010 16:00

LaT ...these things do seem to happen to you, don't they?! I was going to wear my new topshop maternity leggings under my dress for work yesterday, then got very nervous (just before leaving the house) that they might do exactly the same thing...they felt just that little bit loose. Cue a quick change into 'normal' leggings which had to sit below my bump all day but didn't attempt to escape to my ankles Glad I didn't try it now Try not to worry about the sleep/weight thing - just because Sabela was fairly small and a bad sleeper doesn't mean your next dc will be...in fact, you might be very surprised

Poguemahome - physio does help but the effects don't last long enough. I do have a bunch of excercises to do, and haven't been brilliant at sticking to them or following directions on how to sit properly etc. Must try harder...

mampam, your ds' note made me nearly burst into tears in the office Would you be a position to consider getting a dog for him after the baby is born?

jojo - lovely to meet you on Wednesday! Thanks for saying such nice things...but I have put on 7lbs in 2 weeks which is 100% not baby related!!

OK, apologies all round - I volunteered to sort out the London meetup and then promptly got totally snowed under at work. I know we said March, so there's a bit of time, but I do feel guilty...I promise to sort out a thread and post a link here asap...please don't shout at me

V tired today: DD had the sf jab yesterday and has had a bad reaction - she's been throwing up since lunchtime yesterday, had a really bad night and is totally miserable today. I felt so guilty being stuck in the office once I knew how ill she was, and then had a very not fun night with her last night. Fingers crossed it will pass soon...otherwise we're in for a fun weekend! And dh has just told me he's off to Austria at 7am on Monday, back Tues night sometime then has a meeting at stupid-o-clock on Wednesday morning...so no help Mon-Weds mornings then... I know, nowhere near as bad as playftse and others, but I'm feeling a bit abdandoned!

Scan next Friday...will be very relieved when its over and I know that a) that fillyflump is healthy and b) what colour it is

playftseforme · 05/02/2010 16:32

Hey fillybuster - it doesn't matter whether it's 3 days or 3 weeks, it still feels c**p when your normal level of support is suddenly removed. I've now gone as far as inviting my mum to stay for a week next week (and we barely get on ).
Don't worry about the london meet up thing - it'll happen in its own good time, whether the babies are in or out

mampam · 05/02/2010 16:39

LaTrucha at your tights falling down. Mine sometimes do it but thankfully in the confines of home not out and about!! Sorry but I would have loved to have been there!!

And what do you mean you couldn't see what I had for my breakfast? 2 x cookies and a yoghurt!! Ok, ok, I know, not very healthy . [smack on the wrists emoticon]. I've done better today though, I had yoghurt for my breakfast, no cookies and no crisps. I've had my daily Creme Egg though some left over rice from last nights dinner and an apple!!

Filly I cried my eyes out last night when DH showed me DS's note . Have had a little talk with him and he says he thinks about her all the time.

I explained that when he gets a little bit older he can have a dog of his own. We can't have one right now because our house isn't really suitable(we want to move in the next year or so) and the already neurotic cat would probably need to see some kind of pet Psychiatrist if we got one right now! If our cat was human, she seriously wouldn't be able to cope with life!! She's bonkers .

I'm a bit with ex because it's just another time where he has handled things badly and I've had to pick up the pieces yet again.

Are you definitely going to find out if Fillyflump is Pink or Blue ?

fillybuster · 05/02/2010 16:58

I guess there's no guarantee that they'll tell us (they're not obliged to and sometimes they can get a bit funny about it...) but I think i'd like to know what colour the fillyflump is this time.

As I've said before, I didn't with ds (because I was worried it would be a boy (it was!) and I wouldn't be happy for 20 weeks, but knew I wouldn't care once it was born) and did with dd (having convinced myself I didnt care I then burst into floods of tears when told ). This time, well, in a way it doesn't matter. But I think I'd like to know, just to be able to start thinking a bit more practically about how the baby is going to fit in and which of the dc's might be more affected. And because, in a way, it makes it feel more real. And because this time, I really don't care (although I admit I'd like my dd to have a sister, but only because mine is so important to me).

That was a long way of saying..."probably", mampam

DS and I both really want a dog. I spent my whole childhood wanting pets and not being allowed anything at all (no dogs or cats and my parents are petrified of all 'rodents' so nothing small and furry either). I was allowed stick insects (many!), caterpillars and other bugs. Eventually I got a pet rat at uni I told dh before he married me that I would be demanding 2 dogs, 3 cats and a horse, as well as multiple small furry things, over time but that the horse was negotiable, given that we live in London. So far we are pet-free but the deal with dh is that we can get a dog once our smallest child is past the commando-crawling-putting-everything-in-its-mouth phase, if we can find the space. So sometime soon, I hope

Hello Everyone,

I'm sorry I posted a hello and then disappeared off the face of the earth,

TBH I think I might have a bit of pre baby blues, I feel like I've got a second head at the moment which is shouting at the kids for everything and anything This baby was a bit of a surprise and although I'm sure I'll be fine once it's here. I have so much to do before it comes.

We had arranged to get married in August and I've put on nearly 2 stone already and I'm so worried that I will look awful in my pics. I was training for the moon walk before falling preg and I'd lost 1 1/2 of the 4 stone that I wanted to loose for the wedding. The only saving grace is that we are having a quiet registry office ceremony and not a proper wedding. I took myself of for a walk today and managed 3.3 miles in 1hour 10mins I used to be able to walk over 4 1/2 miles in that time

NO one seems to understand and just keep telling me it will be fine!!! I feel like budda at the moment without the smile! and being preg is so limiting and I'm running out of time

I also have an ex that has his head up his (you can imagine the rest) and so I've been hiding my bump from him because I know that him and his wife will give my boy's greif about me being preg but bump is getting a bit big to hide for much longer

Do you think it's a preg thing that makes you worry about everything all at once????

sorry to dump all that I was only going to say hello lol

hugs xxxxx
