go for it claired!

claired21 · 10/11/2009 16:25

I think she has probably got mixed up with the group title which didn't specify DUE Nov 09 but we can remove her... since people had concerns about the group being private perhaps we should make sure anyone who asks to be a member is known to us?

congrats kyte!

LissyGlitter · 10/11/2009 16:30

Go for it claired! Maybe our Due Dates/Birth Dates as well?

Should we send the imposter a message asking why they are in the group? They could have just got mixed up.

Trikken · 10/11/2009 16:33

that would be a good idea lissy, just in case we chuck her out and then realise she was supposed to have been there and had just got confused. I havent added her, cos i wasnt sure who it was as didnt recognise the name tho.

LissyGlitter · 10/11/2009 16:34

wizzy your poor sister. It is horrible being away from your family at times like this.

Well, after DP being lovely last night he has just snapped at me...it is rent day today and his dad had told me he was giving DP a lift to the bank to pay the rent, so, when DP had come in (obvioulsy after we had said hello and everything) I said "so, is rent and all that sorted out?" He said "well, I just went in the bank to check it was in my account" I said "you do know the direct debit isn't set up right, don't you?" And he started shouting that he doesn't need treating like a child and stormed out, slamming the door. [hmmm] So I have no idea what is going on rent wise.

LissyGlitter · 10/11/2009 16:40

Apparently the £900 rebate we got from the DWP a month or so ago has all been spent and he had to borrow money off his dad to pay the rent, even though most of it is paid by housing benefit, plus he has just started a job that has paid him about a weeks wages. Where on earth does his money go?

I think I may have to demand all bills go through my account and he pays me most of his wages to cover them, as it would seem he is incapable of doing it himself.

Good god. Why does everything have to be hard work?

claired21 · 10/11/2009 16:40

OK names are on, I'll add due dates/baby announcements later. DP has just arrived home so need to go pretend I haven't actually spent all day on the laptop...

misssese · 10/11/2009 16:43

kyte im so pleased you had a good birth, it helps me feel more confident when people tell me their positive birth stories! cant wait to be posting mine!! claired well done doubt mine brain would be up to working that all out!! p.s i cant seem to do any of the smileys apart from sad face when i do the () it doesnt work??

claired21 · 10/11/2009 17:01

It's the square brackets misssese - they're beside the "P" key on a normal keyboard.

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 10/11/2009 17:02

kyte! i was just thinking about you today. I am so pleased the CS went well, and that baby Alexander is here safe and well, great name btw!

I have had the piggy flu jab. All done, took a second and I had not even finished telling the doc how I was in response to her question before it was done . She did make me a little nervous when she had to check the dose was correct as I was the first pregnant woman at the surgery to get it! Nice to be a first and all, but would prefer not to have been this time!

Went into town with DH, bought us all an item of Primarni clothing - dh got a coat almost identical to his Calvin Klein coat (which cost uber amounts and has paint on) for £27! and I got a knitted sleeveless cardy thing for bf'ing in, DD got a lovely knitted jumper and pair of cords, and she looks so scrummy! And I got a cardi with cars on for new baby, cost me £2!!! Then I finally bought some flipflops in Animal for too much money - for the hospital shower! But they will be fine to wear in summer too. DH took me for a hot chocolate in waterstones/costa, and I sat there silently in agony with this pain under my rib. It hurts so much, and is made worse by wearing a bra . Its weird, I get it comfy and my back muscle pulls paralell to the front rib muscle, get that comfy and the front hurts. I have taken paracetamol.

FB - I must go and put my MN name against my FB name so you know who I am not sure why you can't all get me as a friend, and there are a couple who I can't add either...can't remember who though!

sleeplessinthecity · 10/11/2009 17:06

WIzzy I'm so sorry about your sis..You must going through a lot at this tough time. Hope you can muster the energy to be there to support and we will do our best here for you..BIG HUG your way.

Kyte congratulations on the birth of Alexander...well done and lovely to hear a good happy story.

laugs I am Nabila Gordon..sorry about the wedding pic, i really need to update it, but all the pics we take now are of DD..no one ever takes pics of me anymore.

SIL is in hospital with a suspected ectopic..its all rather sad...

southernbelle77 · 10/11/2009 17:09

Ok so now I'm going to have to join the fb group as feeling very left out, lol !! Its only for you lot though and not letting anyone else know!

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 10/11/2009 17:14

southernbelle the modern world always gets us somehow

wizzy i am so so sorry to hear your sister's bad diagnosis. Hugs to you, and my thoughts are with you and her.

katster37 · 10/11/2009 17:18

Pavlov your afternoon sounds lovely, and far more productive than mine!

Wizzy I am so sorry to hear about your sister. I don't know what to say, because nothing will really help you that I can say, but just to let you know that I am thinking of you and your sister, and hoping that everything will be OK.

Kyte I am really pleased you had a good c-section experience, and that Alexander is here! That's lovely, and a really nice name as well.

Ninjacat · 10/11/2009 17:19

Wizzy that is awful news. If I were to want advice I would say be there for her and make every day count. She is alive and has her sight right now, don't let yourself worry that away. Sometimes we are so fearful about dying we forget to live x

it means I have nothing to say as in Gordon Brown had nothing to say about his fav biscuit - or do you all know that already?

Comma2 · 10/11/2009 17:28

wizzy I'm so very sorry about your sister. I don't know how she carries on, I hope she'll be okay. And you too. maybe you can help her research her eye problems? THere might be clinical studies on new drugs etc, the field moves fast. I know it's not a great time, but it might help her not to feel as isolated.

Thanks all for the support. It really helps just to read your friendly words. It's going to be hard for me, but to say it with Pav , at least MIL will not be annoying either. last night she mixed my beautifully prepared salad with her bare hands. After being to the supermarket, then going to the loo. But not washing her hands. So there.

big fat congratulations Kyte ! Sounds marvellous and the lovely report hits just the spot. Will read it again.

Lizzy your dp is a bit edgy isn't he? Think it's because of baby?

As far as the facebook group goes, how does that work? We can see each other's daily update and info etc but nobody can peek in? Hu? Am a bit backwards, sorry, glad when I manage to log on to mnet every day...also, where do I have to go to find the group??

misssese · 10/11/2009 17:37

thanks claired

weston · 10/11/2009 17:42

huge congrats kyte delighted it went so well

really sorry to hear about your sister wizz

all you fb administrators just sent a friend request..name delma dwight..feel like i am coming out of the closet....

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 10/11/2009 17:46

weston it is quite revealing isn't it, like stripping down to a bikini in front of strangers.

But, if we can talk about mucus plugs and piles and having sex with our partners to promote baby arrivals, then we are probably all ready to reveal our true selves

VenusInfers · 10/11/2009 17:48

Kyte congratulations! So glad that everything went so well for you. Alexander is a superb name.

Come on, Scarlotti, give us the news!!

Wizzy So glad that you had good MW and a better experience with the exam this time. Let's hope that your stop/start labour starts again soon!

Southern & Comma I'll be thinking about you both tomorrow. And, Comma, I know it must be particularly hard for you, when you got so close to having a more natural birth, but the most important thing is that you will have your LO in your arms tomorrow.

Claired I've applied to join the fb group. Can you accept me? My real name is Geraldine Ramsay. Ta!

hobnob57 · 10/11/2009 17:56

venus meant to say we had your beef casserole yesterday and it was yum. Thank you. Needless to say that DD took one look at it and decided she wasn't eating... I think I might try the 'no food unless you ask for it' approach (once MIL has finished stuffing her with sweet, inappropriate things after swimming tomorrow).

southernbelle77 · 10/11/2009 18:05

AAARRRRGGGGHHHHHHHHHH can't get fb to work! Well, it sort of works but it won't send the confirmation email to my email address so I can't confirm it itms!

Not updated on the posts sorry, but will do soon once I've sorted it out!

BLAH! modern technology isn't good for me!

raggie · 10/11/2009 18:11

Ooh, what a LOT of exciting things happening while I've been waddling around oxford this afternoon!

I've just asked to be a couple of your friends and then joined the FB group when I read further down this page so can a lovely admin add me - my real name is Morag. Also happy to be an admin since I am officially last on the due date list!

Now going to actually read all the non-FB-related news from today
