Anyone else due April 2010?

I just found out yesterday I'm 4 weeks preggers after trying for our 2nd baby for a year and half, at last!! It seemed as though it was never going to happen!

Here's to the next 8-9 months!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Mistymoo · 09/09/2009 17:15

Hi All. We haven't named ours yet either, but our ds did name our dd - wobble - when he saw the scan. I thought that was cute.

I had my first MW appt today so lots of form filling. She has my date as 18th April but I'm not going to change the list yet until my scan. Anyway that makes me 8+ weeks. We still haven't told anyone in RL. Not sure when we will.

thighsmadeofcheddar · 09/09/2009 17:28

So we had our scan today. They thought they were doing a nuchal but I was proved right by only being nearly 11 weeks (call me Dr Thighs!!). My dates stay the same. So they've rescheduled me for 2 weeks today for the nuchal. BUT we saw a baby with good strong heartbeat and I have a tiny picture. It was a very good sight indeed. Sickness is still chronic, no food appeals except mash potato and rice.

Anyway, I hope everyone is ok. Take care all xx

Neeko · 09/09/2009 19:57

Great news DrThighs!

MrsMerryHenry · 09/09/2009 20:56

Well done, DrThighs! But am surprised your nuchal is happening so early - I thought it was always around 20 wks?

So sorry about your sickness, that's awful. Just eat what you can, and hopefully it won't be long now before your stomach calms down.

stinkypinky · 09/09/2009 21:28

Nucal is at aprox 12 weeks, anomalies scan is 20 weeks.
I threw up in the car on the way to work this morning - on motorway, so not a lot of choice - pretty gross, I know.
Have my interview for promotion on friday - hoping I do not vomit over panel.
Love the names - ours is baby seed - my three year old saw Grandpa Pig (grunt grunt) growing things...

MrsMerryHenry · 09/09/2009 21:33

Wow, things have changed in 3 years. When I was last preg, nuchal was at 20 weeks. And now, these days, I have to pee on two sticks. What?? And I get £500 to spend on lovely maternity clothes healthy food. And I get to give myself 9 months' paid(ish) leave!

lilmissmummy · 10/09/2009 00:27

It is all a bit of a shock for me too. My youngest is 4 and I am sure I wasn't... This fat, this sick, this tired, this paranoid or this grumpy!

I felt so sick today that I didn't pick the children up from school or go to the PTA meeting so dh went and pretty much announced it to them all so I guess I won't have to worry about being antisocial! Just vomiting on them!

Really loved all your names my first two bumps were called boris and jelly!

I really must book my blood tests I was meant to go to the drs to do that this week but have been putting it off. Can't think why

i really feel for those of you suffering with headaches as well as ms. Touch wood I have escaped that one so far! I think you are all fantastic coping with that one too!

Scre I am sure the parents at school haven't even noticed! and in a couple of weeks when we feel human again we can burst ( physically and metaphorically) into the school playground and make friends with everyone!!!

Well done dr thighs! I'll get you to predict the sex of all our babies next!

definately looking forward to spending the grant money! All those shoes

stinkypinky sorry to hear about yourmotorway incident! Did you have to go home again? Good luck with your promotion
xx

nicnacinoonoo · 10/09/2009 07:52

yeah good luck with the promotion we'l all think none vomiting thoughts
i thought the healthy eating grant was only something like 190 it doesnt depend where u live does it coz im moving if u get 500 elsewhere
lilmiss totally with you on this one being different. my ds is 3.5 and i definitely wasnt this fat, sick, tired or emotional with him. although sickness seems to be mostly gone now.
we dont have a name for the lo didnt have one last time either, i feel really boring now! will have to get my dh to think of 1 im rubbish at things like that.
ooo id definitely like dr thighs to start predicting the sex of our babies. im dying to know and we've got ages yet

PrincessTweetz · 10/09/2009 09:23

I'm glad I'm not the only one with bad headaches...dp is strating to call me a hypochondriac, cuz I have a headache every day, but it's the same headache, it's just not going away! I'm dreadingit turing into a migraine again, so I'm not watching much t.v or spending much time at the computer either...I happen to think I'm doing cery well at every day things whilst putting up with this pain...but that's men for you haha
I also have a porly 2 year lod...she caught a cold from her cousin...I really wish we didn't encourage our kids to constantly share things hehe
On the plus side though, I had my booking appntmnt on Monday, I'm low risk so far, and so things are loking ok for the homebirth that I want, altho she did say that we won't really discuss it again now until after the 20 week scan, just to be sure of normal development and growth and stuff....fingers crossed...she also seems really nice as well, so another good thing! I think I'll have her all the way through with this one.
And just one more thing!! With my dd, she was called Edweena, even before I knew I was having a girl. I had called my sister's bump Edward, luckily she ended up with a boy hehe, and we just popped out with the name Edweena for my bump, then wshe's just had girl, we called her bump Edele, but have't popped up with anything for mine again yet! (There's a bit of a tradition going on with me and my sisat the min...she seems to catch pregnant, then just as she's given birth, I find out I'm pregnant ! I actually conceived this one on the day of her dd's birth!!) Hope every1 has a nice day..or as nice as it can be!

Bettymum · 10/09/2009 09:59

Good news DrThighs! Lovely to have a picture of your little one.
stinkypinky I'm sure we'll all be thinking of you tomorrow and wishing you lots of luck and a calm stomach.
I started knitting DD a cardi for christmas last night, think I'll wait a few weeks to knit anything for the bump. A nice little wooly hat would be good, I think.
Hope everyone is well and vomit/headache free today!

thighsmadeofcheddar · 10/09/2009 10:07

I've checked this morning and I'm only eligible for the £190 grant too (surrey area)... where is this magic £500 for???

Hope everyone is feeling ok. xx

Snowtiger · 10/09/2009 10:31

Morning all, great to hear all the lovely news about sticky beans, photos and magic £500 grants!! Only £190 in my area so please 'fess up whoever it is that knows how to get £500!!

I'm feeling v sorry for myself today, am 9+4, have a cold and stomach upset, was up all last night having diarrhoea every 20 mins and it's still going strong, which is less than pleasant. Have just been on phone to NHS direct who've said 'drink lots, eat lots, rest lots and don't worry about baby' and thanked the gloriously benevolent universe for the fact that DS is at nursery today and amazingly, DH working at home so able to take him there this morning while I was resident in the bathroom!! So I'm in bed, resting, which is such a treat it's almost worth feeling this ill for!!
Still on the upside, MS has reduced quite a bit so hopefully once the diarrhoea stops and this cold buggers off, I should be feeling quite normal.
On the subject of painkillers etc. Dr told me that paracetamol, and even co-codamol (paracetamol & codeine) are fine to take, just try and manage with the smallest dose you can. I've been having horrible headaches over the past few weeks; touch wood no migraines so far, let's hope it stays that way.
Had my booking in / history taking appt. with midwife yesterday which was really reassuring. Likewise I'm sure I wasn't this fat etc. with DS and am terrified I'm having twins but midwife assured me it's quite normal to be much bigger with DC2. I feel enormous, and knackered, and very hormonal - just discussing the nuchal fold test and ramifications / what ifs etc. made me burst into tears.
Lovely to hear everyone's bumps' names - mine is currently Muffin, which is a dead giveaway about quite how much 3rd & Bird DS and I have watched over the years!!

dani87 · 10/09/2009 13:24

i also get the £500 and £190 as its for familys on a low income its called the sure start maternity grant. i feel sorry for all of you who are still feeling bad with ms mines eased of now so hopefully yours will to!

as for naming beans mines been nicked named cadbury by my next door neighbour as i can only drink hot choc! hope all your ms soon settles soon!

ReneRusso · 10/09/2009 13:29

Have finally got a scan date through for 2 weeks time Haven't got a name for the bean yet, can't really connect with it until I can see it alive and kicking on the screen.

annlouise75 · 10/09/2009 14:55

Sorry for everyone feeling yucky still. I am having a really bad day. Usually my sickness doesn't start till 4pm ish each day, but today it's been with me all the time. I've got quite an important meeting starting at the ungodly hour of 5pm tonight and I just really, really want to go home and collapse! Anyway, whinge over. Scan a week tomorrow so hopefully I will feel encouraged to battle the sickness once I've seen the little one.

Bettymum - you've encouraged me to start knitting again (if I ever have a spare moment) - I did quite a few things for DS which are unisex so will do for whatever flavour I have this time, but it's always good to have and excuse to knit something new!

Bettymum · 10/09/2009 15:11

annelouise good to hear about the knitting! I posted on style and beauty about not being able to buy a bright purple cardi for DD to go with bright purple jeans, and despite someone saying she would look like a grape, I'm knitting her a lovely bright purple cardi with bamboo yarn, which is beautiful and soft and shiny. DH hates it when I start knitting as I stop talking to him in the evenings and just sit there with needles clacking away .
Anyway good luck for 5pm.

hoops997 · 10/09/2009 19:00

hello everyone......there are some great nicknames out there, my DP has nicknamed ours Junior!!

Well I am 11 weeks tomorrow and all my symptons have gone, I feel great (sorry for all those suffering MS)

I am lookng forward to my 12 week NT scan on 21st Sept.....

Hope everyone else is feeling great and not too sick with headaches/MS

stinkypinky · 10/09/2009 20:53

Thank you for your kind wishes for tomorrow 1.30 is the dreaded time.

lilmissmummy I did not need to go home... thankfully my lunch box was near to hand (have bought new lunch box)and minimal splashing

Feeling sad tonight as I was 30 mins late picking up DD from nursery - the staff were fine, I called them frequently (stuck in traffic) but was in floods of tears in car - put brave face on for DD. Feeling like a bad mummy - hormones I guess, as it was not my fault... Usually my mum is my contingency plan, but she is away on her hols.

Has anyone felt movement yet? I am puzzled as not even 8 weeks, but I swear I can feel it/them moving... spooky! It is when I am lying in bed usually.

thighsmadeofcheddar · 11/09/2009 11:24

Does anyone know if I can put a rinse through my hair? Not a permanent one.I think I did before when I was pregnant, but am not sure.

Good luck Stinky with your big interview.

Hope everyone else is ok. Touch wood my sickness seems to be keeping at bay today.

Bettymum · 11/09/2009 13:33

I kept getting my hair coloured when I was pg with DD (to hide all those greys!), it was at the hairdressers but it was a semi-permanent colour. I think it is fine.
Thinking of you stinkypinky!

lilmissmummy · 11/09/2009 14:54

Yes I am pretty sure you can dye your hair... Could do with having mine done but will wait til ms has eased! Finally got my dating scan appointment through for 1st Oct.

V tired today.

stinky! Don't you feel bad when that happens?! If it's any consolation, when you are still beating yourself up about it in 3 months, dd won't even remember!

No haven't felt any movement yet, can't wait til I do! Makes it all real. Doesn't feel v real yet... I guess it will when I have a scan.

srce · 11/09/2009 15:04

i have just spent the morning getting my highlights done, so would definatly say its ok to do your hair. spent the whole time working my way through 2 huge packets of haribo to cope with the nausea, think the girl thought i was weird, but at least i look abit presentable again!

nicnacinoonoo · 11/09/2009 15:20

yeah i looked it up on the internet and checked with my hairdressers and both said that its ok to dye your hair when pregnant.
lilmiss my scan is on the 1st too cant wait!
went swimming today and it made me feel really good. definitely going to go at least once a week, hopefully.
got ds's application for school through today as well so am going to busy myself filling that in tonight and looking through the brochure. what an exciting friday night!

ThePhantomPlopper · 11/09/2009 17:08

Hi all.

How did the interview go Stinky?

I've had my hair coloured at the hairdressers this time and in the last two pregnancies. It's fine.

I had a scan today at 9 weeks, saw baby, looked like a peanut!

thedollshouse · 11/09/2009 19:10

Congratulations on seeing your little peanut TPP!
