Anyone else due April 2010?

I just found out yesterday I'm 4 weeks preggers after trying for our 2nd baby for a year and half, at last!! It seemed as though it was never going to happen!

Here's to the next 8-9 months!

thehuntress · 03/09/2009 13:06

Sorry I've been off this board for so long. I'm 9+6 today. Had some light bleeding last week (and a scan) where they saw bub and heartbeat fine. I've been really sick with MS (not vomiting but all day nausea). I'm really down about it as it is starting to affect my DD who is 2 1/2 and is wondering why Mummy can't play with her like she used to. She is very clingy which is unusual for her.

Also, like Princess I got a migraine last night. I've got a history but it was the worst I'd ever experienced. I still have a headache today, although not as bad. I'm just so fed up with feeling like this and can't wait until i start to feel better. I've taken so much time off work, they must think I'm a slacker as only my manager knows I'm pregnant.

I'm sorry for not responding to everyone else's posts and being very focused on my own problems. I just needed a download as I feel awful. I feel like I'm not enjoying this pregnancy so I should expect something awful to happen as punishment

draughts · 03/09/2009 13:39

Hello all, thehuntress sorry you are feeling so rubbish. I remember very well looking after a lively 2year old whilst pregnant with DS2. It was a very trying time, not long now and you should start to feel a little brighter .

I had my very early scan yesterday at EPAU and they were so lovely. I had to have a transvaginal scan but all was fine and they managed to see a heartbeat even though it only measured 6+1 which means I need to change my date at some point. I know that anything can happen still but I do feel a little reassured after seeing the little flicker on the screen.

I feel really naseous on and off throughout the day, though it is definitely worse during the evening, waiting for it to get worse although hope it won't get too bad. Boys back to school today looking all clean, enthusiastic and gorgeous, what kind of state 3.30pm will see them in is an entirely different matter.

I felt really emotional dropping DS2 off this morning (hormones?)as he has a new microphone for his teacher to wear to enable the sound to go directly to his hearing aids, and his one to one LSA was late! I handed it over to the very harrassed looking teacher with only a few instructions. Feel all worried now and uneasy.

waspy and lee I was really sad to read your news, if you are still looking here I am thinking of you both and hope you are looking after yourselves. Take good care.x

Zeeky · 03/09/2009 14:28

Have been feeling a little nauseous this week and have gone right off fish. I cooked some for supper on Tues and then couldn't eat it as the smell was making me feel ill. With DS I went right off salmon, but this time it is all fish.

Also got a craving for crisps and fruit. Usually have to force myself to eat some fruit every day, but now I am actually fancying an apple! The side-effect is that DS is also eating more fruit as he wants to eat what Mummy is eating !

We're off to Egypt next week on holiday. I will be 8 weeks, and am a little apprehensive. It is going to be pretty hot and I'm a bit worried about getting an upset stomach. MW told me to drink plenty of water and not get dehydrated, and not to take anything if I do get a bad stomach. I am looking forward to the rest & relaxation though, as DH has promised to do all the running around looking after DS (who has just turned 2) so that I can have some rest.

Zxx

annlouise75 · 03/09/2009 14:36

Hi all
Sorry for your losses waspylady and LeeWT. Hoping everyone else's beans are going to stick on in there. Not long to go till we can all feel a little more confident.
I'm 10 weeks today - still feeling nauseous in the evenings and generally tired (I felt the worst from weeks 9-14 last time so may have a while of yuckiness to go yet). Had my booking in appointment with the midwife yesterday. The same one that saw me during my first pregnancy which is nice. Seemed to be more paperwork this time, plus a real emphasis on avoiding DVT (deep vein thrombosis). My BMI is a bit high and this gives me a risk factor meaning I have to have a special appointment with a consultant after my scan. Don't know what they can do - I'm eating as healthily as I can, but I can hardly go on a crash diet at the moment...
Feeling a bit guilty about work at the mo. Been given two big projects to lead which will be delivering around late Spring (i.e. after I have left for mat leave) haven't said anything to my boss yet as I wanted to wait until after the 12 week scan, but do wonder if I should have said something earlier. Nothing's ever straight forward is it?!

familygirl · 03/09/2009 15:55

Had mw booking in today-nothing to report! Thought it might it feel more real, but sadly not. Although the totally shattered feeling and nausea are definitely real. What's everyone else managing to eat at the moment? My diet has been pretty poor-only seem to be able to stomach plain carbs, cheese and biscuits/sweet stuff! Don't think I've eaten any fruit or veg, except for fruit juice for the past 3 weeks Tried carrots and just retched. Trying to take preg vits, but don't even manage those some days. Oh well, hopefully might improve in a month or so.

Prisci · 03/09/2009 16:07

ReneRusso I've had a scan and my bean is fine (due to a previous mc) but like you, I am far from putting maternity clothes yet, I am not showing much at all, but then my cravings are mostly for fruits. I really have to force myself to eat anything else.

Pumagirl, sorry for you, the next few months are going to be hard but when you see your bean for the first time, there won't be anything better.

I am also having migraine and the nausea is getting worse. Flying to France tonight (I am french), I can't wait eventhough it is a mad trip to do with the way I am feeling. I am flying alone with 16months old DS, first 7hour flight to Bermuda then Eurostar to Paris with all the trains and taxis involved. I must be mad but it is so hot here and DH is working almost 24/7, so at least I will get some help once I have arrived .

Bettymum · 03/09/2009 16:08

My nausea definitely not as bad as it was, thank goodness, but still right off some things, like coffee - just can't stand the thought of it. I've been craving tomatoey things, which I did when I was pg with DD but I'd forgotten. I've been eating lots of pasta with tomato sauce. And Pringles with salsa .
Still tired, luckily DD's favourite game at the moment is putting things to bed, so she says "night night" and I lie down and pretend to go to sleep. And then she jumps on me, but at least I'm lying down .
Told my boss today that I was pregnant, he didn't repeat his comment of last time which was "but will you still be able to concentrate on your work" . Perhaps not thrilled that I will be going on leave a week before our busiest period but the guy that temped for me last time might be able to do it again which would work OK I guess.
I have my nuchal scan on Monday, feeling very nervous about it this time for some reason but looking forward to seeing the baby!

Zeeky · 03/09/2009 19:07

Bettymum - I've been craving tomatoey things too! I've been eating loads of salsa and tortilla chips

Neeko · 03/09/2009 20:55

Hi all.
Pumagirl sorry to hear about your ex. I hope that we can make things easier for you.

I had my 2nd scan today and had been really worried because of losing fullness in boobs which was my first symptom of MMC. All is wel though and my LO was wriggling away like mad! The baby was still measuring a week further on that I should be so my EDD is "officially" March 23rd. Does anyone mind if I stay on here? No offence to the March ladies but I don't want to move!

MummyLovesSadie · 03/09/2009 21:48

You're not going anywhere madam!

PumaGirl · 03/09/2009 21:53

Thank you so much everyone for your messages of support. Really appreciate it - it helps a lot, especially when you're sick and tired of being, well, sick and tired on top of everything else.

Hope everyone who's feeling crappy has a better day tomorrow.

PumaGirl · 03/09/2009 21:56

No, Neeko don't disappear - stay here!

MrsMerryHenry · 03/09/2009 23:21

Hi, firstly I'm really sorry pumagirl to hear about your exP. Can it seriously have not crossed his mind that a woman in her 40s might actually be keen to have a child? I really hope this break-up doesn't cloud your pregnancy and that the support you're getting from friends and family really sustains you.

Zeeky - Egypt, eh? I'm sure you know this already but be careful about food hygiene - you should apparently avoid salads and ice unless you're absolutely sure they're washed/ the water is fine. Basically be even more cautious than usual so as not to risk anything happening to you/ sprog. I had a tummy bug a couple of weeks ago - didn't realise that's all it was, as it literally floored me - I am practically made of steel but I collapsed on the floor and couldn't get up, head spinning, could barely respond to DH. Awful. Apparently having a tummy bug when pregnant can sometimes do that. Nice. So pleeeease be careful! (I'm not saying that out of jealousy so as to spoil your hols, by the way ).

I'm knackered at the mo and have a bit of nausea, nothing too serious, but very annoying. However I am not being sick so shouldn't really complain.

Oh, and due date: 25th April.

PrincessTweetz · 04/09/2009 09:27

Yay..I'm not alone in eating sardines on toast mummylovessadie hehe
If it makes the rest of you feel better, I suffered all day and I think it was the sardines lol
Hugs to the huntress Maybe your dd can see you're felling a bit poorly too, so that could explan the clinginess. I've not noticed much difference with my dd, bu my sister has a nearly 3 year old, and just had a lil girl, and during her pregnancy, her ds started to get more clingy at times...everything was ok tho, I think they notice more things than we give them credit for. Hope you feel better soon x
I've got my first midwife's appntmnt Monday, and hopefully get the homebirth I want...wish me luck cuz I'm a bit scared I'll have to fight for it

thedollshouse · 04/09/2009 10:54

Sorry to hear of your loss, waspylady and LeeWT.

I am now 8+4 and feeling very anxious as I have no symptoms. Phoned the midwife but she said I'll just have to hold on until the 12 week scan. When I was pregnant with ds I felt excited as soon as I found out, this time I just feel numb because I am convinced things aren't right. I told close family the other week and I now wish I hadn't as they keep wanting to have "baby talk" but I'm not convinced I will have a baby.

Zeeky · 04/09/2009 11:01

PrincessTweetz - when I had booking appt last week MW offered me a homebirth straight away as my first labout had been fairly straight forward (if you call 30 hrs of labour and loads of stiches straight forward!!) But I don't want a homebirth - much rather be in hospital in case of emergency. In my area they are very keen on homebirths for some reason.

Zeeky · 04/09/2009 11:05

MrsMerryHenry - thanks for the advice for Egypt. We went on a Nile cruise a few years ago (before DS) and managed to avoid any sort of bad stomach, through being very careful about what we ate & drank and drinking LOADS of water - I've never peed so much in my life

Hopefully will manage the same this time. Hotel we are staying in is 5star and has a good rep for food hygiene, so fingers crossed.

Temp there at the moment is 36degrees, so going to be very careful in the sun. Can't wait to feel a bit of sun my skin though after the abismal summer we've had - BBQ summer my ar*e !!

tostaky · 04/09/2009 12:09

thedollshouse same for me, my symptoms have lessen since im 8/9 weeks. Im now 10+1 and feel very anxious. When is your scan? and your booking-in apt?
my appt is next tusday and my scan is on the 18th... a long way to wait...

prisci hope your flight went well, i travel often on my own with DS between london and france (im french too) and it can be really tiring!! Good luck!

Bettymum · 04/09/2009 12:35

PrincessTweetz they're really pro homebirths where we are, I think it does vary by area. DD was supposed to be a homebirth but I ended up transferring to hospital in the end - no traffic on the M4 at 2am .
It's funny but this time I think I'd rather be in hospital, I don't know why - with the homebirth the midwives come to you instead of you going to them which is wonderful - it's just the thought of something going wrong. Having said that, everyone I know who's had a homebirth has loved it.
