I just found out yesterday I'm 4 weeks preggers after trying for our 2nd baby for a year and half, at last!! It seemed as though it was never going to happen!

Here's to the next 8-9 months!

Well, I had the scan and they saw baby and heartbeat!! Everything looks fine, and the dates all line up now. I'm 6w6d. I was so nervous going in, and almost burst out into tears when I saw the baby on the screen.

As I mentioned before, I was a bit nervous because my nausea had let up a bit in the last couple of days. But maybe the acupuncture I had is really working. Also, I've been making sure to go to bed really early, so maybe that is helping too.

hoops997 · 14/08/2009 14:24

thehuntress that's fab.......it's great seeng the little flickering heartbeat isn't it?

As I have said before this is one long journey that we have started, roll on April 2010 woo hoo!!!!

Bettymum · 14/08/2009 14:51

thehuntress yay!!! Now you can relax a bit over the weekend . So that you've seen your baby!

thedollshouse · 14/08/2009 15:16

hoops997 - My niece had bleeding in her pregnancy, first they thought she was having a miscarriage, then when she was 12 weeks they wrongly diagnosed placenta prevaria (sp?) when she was about 20 weeks they discovered from the scan that she had a little pocket of blood which was causing the bleed. A few weeks later it closed up and she gave birth to a healthy baby boy.

I am so nervous at the moment as I just don't really have any symptoms. Last Saturday I had that winded feeling but since tthen I haven't really had any symptoms. I am desperate to tell people as well! It really is a long time until April isn't it?

chegirl · 14/08/2009 16:11

Hello. May I join. I have been lurking for a bit. Found out I was pg at the beginning of last week. I was stupidly shocked. It took me a year with DS3 and this time it took one go!

Unfortunately I have been very unwell since finding out. A combination of worry, pg hormones and some horrible bug. I finally told OH this morning. I was so worried as he has not been well lately. He was fine - I am so silly.

Early pg does get me this way. I am afraid I am a bit of a neurotic mess! I am hoping my mood will imporve as I go along a bit.

I am very embarrassed to admit I dont really know how pg I am. I was so sure it would take me another year to get pg I didnt even note down my dates .

This will be DC no 5. I have 3 boys and I had a wonderful DD who died 3 years ago aged 14. I think this is twin boys

Prisci · 14/08/2009 17:54

Hello,

Can I join in, I found out last week that I was PG, on my Bday but feeling so tired and naucious most of the time, quite different from DD1, I had a miscarriage earlier this year, so I am doing everything I can to take it easy but easier said than done with a toddler. I am also still breastfeeding, I am trying to wean our 16months old but it is not working, has anyone got any tips? EDD 16th of April.

LeeWT · 14/08/2009 19:19

Hi to all the newbies!

Congrats to spotted heartbeats

to all post mc panickers.. we'll just have to muddle through.

I am 6wks tomorrow (according to my dates and 32 day cycle i would only be 5+3 tomor) and lost my last lo at 6+3 according to measurements. either way i figure my tomorrow week if i still have symptoms i will be doing well and will apply for a scan..

am off for my lovely weekend away with the girls, look after yourselves x

chegirl · 14/08/2009 19:50

Feeling a bit . I having been going a bit mad because of night sweats. Had NO idea that these are fairly common in early pg! I have never had them before!

They have been driving me crazy and getting me down. At least I can see them as a positive thing now. Anyone else have them? Any tips because I havent had a proper sleep in two weeks and I am getting a bit desperate.

pillia78 · 15/08/2009 07:35

Can I join too please? Had BFP this morning which was a bit of a shock! Apparently due date is April 20th 2010. Have DS1 aged 9yrs and DS 2 aged 16 months. Confident this will also be a boy (I am waiting for loads of people to say 'Ooh bet you are hoping for a girl?' I'm really not!!

mcchesers · 15/08/2009 16:22

Welcome Pilla come on in! We've got half nervous ninnies and half bubbling happy mums with buns to be.

I'm in the former myself. Did not mention before but I live in the states, moved from Scotland, but my DS1 was born in Glasgow. The BFP was a big surprise. I've had a prev MMC before DS1, so had an early scan just there on Weds. Nothing too exciting and I've to come back in 2 weeks for another one and really hoping to see everything progressing as normal.

Girls I'm in need of some serious hand holding for the next two weeks. I can't even admit to myself that I'm really preggers. and really envious of all those happy beating heart beans

I have decided to give myself a slap feel free to administer one to yourself should you need it

Happy Weekend Ladies!!

ThePregnantPhantomPlopper · 16/08/2009 00:29

I've had a few night sweats chegirl, not pleasant!

I'm a bit of a mess ATM, panicking big time about a 3rd, DH is leaving on a 7 month deployment with the Navy on Monday which isn't helping my mood.

Gah.

Hi everyone and congrats to the positive scans!

Not feeling so great at the moment - the nausea has hit me bigtime . Having been so upbeat before, I'm now feeling really nervous about how I am going to get through the next month or two. I feel sick all day long with no let-up apart from when I am asleep. This happened to me last time and I ended up signed off work for 3 weeks and on anti-nausea drugs. Dreading feeling so rough again. Is anyone else suffering too?

chegirl I have had the opposite of night sweats - feeling cold all the time!

chegirl · 16/08/2009 19:10

Hi all.

Plopper (your name always makes me giggle!). I share your anxiety. I had no clue that I would get pg so quickly and am now worrying about how we will cope with a 4th child in the house. How silly, I wasnt worried when I was planning it!

wellie are you feeling cold at night? That could be caused by the nightsweats. You get v.hot and wake up because the sweat cools down and leaves you freezing! I am not feeling sick very much yet (poor you) but I am so tired I cant do much at all.

I FEEL BLOODY AWFUL! I hate to say it but I really do. I am not coping very well and just want this bit to be done. I dont remember being like this with any of the others. Moan moan moan. I have been virtually in bed all week, this cant go on surely?

Wishing you all well.

dani87 · 16/08/2009 20:04

hi all not been on for a while as been so sick and tired so been in bed most've time luckly i got an understanding dp!

sorry to those who has lost there beans really hope it happens for you soon

i'd like to welcome all newcomers!

well ive got the terrible morning sickness i had with dd its to the point where i'm not eatin trying to force myself to eat and drink as i don't want to end up in hospital again as i did with dd. how is everyone coping? i so cant wait till the 12weeks are over with! have my 12 week scan 16th sept so seems like a life time away!

pregnantpeppa welcome and congrats well i must admit when i done my test it was at 4weeks and the reason i tested was because i was exhausted (and still am!) all the time. i have a dd who 16months she has me up early in mornin which never used to bother me but now im totally drained lol. i sleep in day when she is sleeping so you are not alone!

wellieboot · 16/08/2009 21:37

chegirl yes, I am going hot and cold so that may be why! Not during the night though, in the daytime...

dani87 you poor thing, hope the next few weeks go quickly for you. You are doing well making yourself eat and drink. I am feeling nauseous all the time too so you're not the only one suffering. It sucks and I'm trying to look at it in maneageable chunks i.e two weeks then I'll be 8 weeks, another 2 then I'll be 10...then hopefully countdown to feeling better! Soooo hard though when you're in the middle of it.

Welcome pregnantpeppa and congrats!

chegirl · 16/08/2009 21:42

Its due to the drop in oestrogen (sp) I believe. Never had it before so a big suprise to me. I thought I had flu. Its also been very muggy and hot round here so that probably isnt helping. I have found wearing light clothing and having the windows open, lots of water help at night, maybe it will help you during the day?

Sorry I am not the only one feeling lousy but at least I dont feel alone

dani87 · 16/08/2009 21:55

wellieboot thanxs i just hope i dont end up in hospital again thats the only reason im makin myself eat even though im being sick straight after means my bean gettin some good stuff out of it lol! good way of thinking doing it in manageable chunks im guna do that then might seem to go quicker

tostaky · 17/08/2009 08:11

im eating cristallised ginger and i drink ginger herbal tea and it seems to make a (albeit small) difference to my morning sickness. I also try to eat banana everyday as B6 vit is good for ms....

My 9 months old is starting the creche in two weeks I.CANT.WAIT!!!! Im just so tired and want to sleep all the time!! Hopefully by the time i go back to work ( 1 month) the 1st trimester will be over....

macana · 17/08/2009 08:58

morning ladies,

I'm 4+3 and my god, I have the worst cramps!! Also feel pretty rough - almost like hangover dodgy tummy (not that I can really remember a hangover, am v.boring these days)....is this normal? Can't remember much with DS1, even though he's only 9 months! He's got me in a permanent state of exhaustion these days, I cannot believe I wanted him to be mobile!!

Problem with finding out sooooo early on also is that the wait until the first scan seems eternal! Anyone paid/paying for earlier scan?? Any idea how much it costs??
