Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

The day you deliver, outside will be hazy. Your baby will arrive in the early evening. After a labor lasting approximately 9 hours, your child, a girl, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 12 pounds, 2 ounces, and will be 20 inches long. This child will have light violet eyes and fluffy auburn hair. !!!

12 pounds 2 ounces. OUCH!!!

pebblebeach · 05/08/2009 20:26

Tigerfeet - just had to reply .... ratty and unreasonable ..... yup, that sums me up completely at the moment

"The day you deliver, outside will be fair. Your baby will arrive in the late morning. After a labor lasting approximately 9 hours, your child, a boy, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 14 pounds, 11 ounces, and will be 22 inches long. This child will have medium gray eyes and barely there black hair."

Jesus Christ!!! 14lb 11oz and 22 inches long, what am I growing in there? A toddler???

Still she got the sex right, the rest...

TF Bubba is breech so I will join you bouncing on the ball but will leave the floor cleaning until the weekend as I currently feel completely crappy, couldn't even face yoga, which I love. 7 working days to go, really don't want to miss a day as I do love my job!! But have a colleague off with the dreaded swine flu and worked very closely with her last week, don't know how it spreads really but fingers crossed I can stay clear of it!!!

TheTickListQueen · 05/08/2009 20:59

DS was transverse at 37 wks and finally got his head down before my 38 wk appointment. I didn't do anything and the Obstetrician hadn't mentioned intervention. Don't know if it made a difference that he was small so still had loads of room.

Had my clinic appointment yesterday and will be going weekly from now on. Bit of a pain but at least it means I'm getting close. (36wks) Have a scan next week and based on that will probably sort the plan on when I deliver.

We get our keys to our new house tomorrow so will be moving all weekend. Finally will be able to get the baby's room set up. Not before time. Will definitely be putting my feet up after the massive clean up effort going on this week. Not great timing but I'm so relieved not to have to move with a newborn, that would be worse.

LJ29 · 05/08/2009 21:08

Hi all. Also had my MW app today (34+4). All absolutely fine, baby head down. Very tired now but only 2 weeks left at work. Started on the Raspberry leaf tea and trying to find out a bit on evening primrose oil (thread in childbirth section). Starting to get excited!!!

blinder · 05/08/2009 21:45

Last night I had a bizarre laughing fit that hurt my face so badly that I ended up crying, but still could not stop the agonising laughing. DP could see that I was in some sort of (guffawing) distress so he calmly stroked my hair until I stopped. This filled me with such gratitude for him as my baby's father that I continued to weep for an hour.

Hormonal, much??

Stayfrosty, I don't even mind helping you kick your DH when he gets back. I'd make a special journey for it! Naughty naughty husband! I would be going spare too. But, remember you have no real actual reason to think there is anything wrong so try to put the worried thoughts to one side if you can .

Re: transverse, breach, posterior babies. My midwife says swim for an hour each day, or at least use a float and bob about on your front. If feeling adventurous swim (dive) down to the bottom. Most babies flip when you do this.

Also, bear in mind that around 80% of babies turn during labour, and that the majority of second babies don't engage until labour and may be quite mobile till the day before. Those of us that think we have correctly positioned babies might have been lucky at that particular ante-natal check, but LO might still be motoring about and we are none the wiser. There is plenty of time for all our LOs to change position .

LittleCheese · 05/08/2009 22:43

The day you deliver, outside will be overcast. Your baby will arrive in the early afternoon. After a labor lasting approximately 4 hours, your child, a girl, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 5 pounds, 5 ounces, and will be 21 inches long. This child will have dark brown eyes and a little patch of blonde hair.

Neddie · 06/08/2009 07:49

I am going to do my own prediction.
The day you give birth it will be raining (isn't it always)you will have a sunroof job and feel no pain (but your partner will feel sick and faint) you will have a boy and a girl the boy will weigh 6lb and the girl will weigh 6lb 2 oz they will be gingers with bright blue eyes and be 20 inches long.
There,I'll put my crystal ball back now (I have one as a doorstop-don't ask)
LOL sprinkle a toddler indeed, I think the lady is on the meths or such like.

BabyLady · 06/08/2009 08:03

Was having a right old chuckle at the predictions...no idea what you guys have been eating to grow babies that size....as for all the auburn haired babies I reckon there must be something in the water. Random Violet eyes too...

Stayfrosty, he is a naughty man. I know that feeling of being scared but also so mad that they have put you in that position. Mine normally happens when DH decides to stay out at the pub way past when he said he would be home and is not answering his phone, you just start imagining the worst! I am sure it will all be fine and you can just have a good yell at him. Usually works for me!

Blinder, your laughing fit sounds awful. What a sweetheart your DH is.

StealthPolarBear · 06/08/2009 08:52

Did she actually use the words 'sunroof job'??

SF - hope my CAT is worth the money, sorry! Will CAT you in a sec.

FairySparkles · 06/08/2009 13:20

PMSL at your prediction Neddie!!

Well mine's actually not too bad:
The day you deliver, outside will be misty. Your baby will arrive in the middle of the night. After a labor lasting approximately 6 hours, your child, a girl, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 8 pounds, 12 ounces, and will be 21 inches long. This child will have medium violet eyes and barely there blonde hair.
I'll be happy days with a 6hr labour considering my last one was 36 hours! 8lb 12 sounds about right too as dd was 8lb 1oz....only time will tell if the crazy lady's predictions are correct; something tells me its all just bollocks speculation!

Any news on dh Frosty?? Hope he gets in touch soon, no reception is defo the most likely reason considering he's in the middle of nowhere!

My lo is still doing full turns I'm sure; so i'm not getting to worried about the whole breech thing yet - only 33 weeks so plenty of time yet - I was scrubbing my kitchen floor on hands and knees the other day tho so will join you with the sore knees and bad back Tiger!!

StealthPolarBear · 06/08/2009 13:34

you're having the first 'non-auburn' baby!

OP posts:
nitnat84 · 06/08/2009 13:55

Hi everyone, haven't been online for a few days and have been catching up on all the posts. This predictor is hilarious, I have been crying with laughter. I don't think I will do it, scared what it may say. Was reading some of the predictions to my hubby, we were both in such giggles.
Anyone really suffering today with the heat. Unbearable here. Have so much to do and have no energy whatsoever!

FairySparkles · 06/08/2009 14:03

Yeah I'm having the first non-auburn baby!! .....but guess what colour my hair is??..... Hilarious

Ladyem · 06/08/2009 14:28

36 weeks today! Yay!! Was just thinking, when we all start to pop, will we start a new thread or post birth announcements on this thread?

Daffodilli - 14lb 11!! Ouch indeed!!

These predictions are so random and funny!! Love it!

Stayfrosty - Farmer Giles much worse today!! Can barely sit down! Have you heard from DH yet?

fairysparkles I'm supposedly having a black haired baby!! Well DH does have dark brown hair and I'm going grey/highlighted mousey, so not too sure about that!!

Turning vibes to all those with babies the wrong way!!

Last day at work tomorrow!! Whoo hoo!! (Even though I do work from home for Hubby's business I've told him I want a leaving speech and pressies!!) Don't reckon I'll get it, though!! Lol!

TigerFeet · 06/08/2009 15:50

Well would you adam and eve it...

Went for a scan this morning and the baby has turned overnight and is now head down

I was being a total drama queen for no reason.

Lets hope she stays put this time!

I hope everyone else with awkward babies has as much good luck.

Gonnabamumma · 06/08/2009 16:01

Hi Ladies, have been absent for a while due to not being able to get on MN (bad website). Just did my prediction and:

"The day you deliver, outside will be cloudy. Your baby will arrive in the middle of the night. After a labor lasting approximately 24 hours, your child, a boy, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 4 pounds, 4 ounces, and will be 21 inches long. This child will have dark blue eyes and a little patch of brown hair."

I am blonde and DH is red - I am hoping for a little auburn baby. I have been cracking up at everyone elses predictions. Not so keen on the 24 hr labour, and would be so shocked to have a little one - everyone predicting a 10lb'er (wince)

Went back to my crap MW (her full title) on Monday. At last appointment 30+5 she said baby was breech, but she couldn't be sure. at this one I was 33+5, and still couldn't tell which way up the baby was. She said she couldn't find the head (assuming the baby has one), but said not to worry, the hospital will tell me at my 36 week appointment - but it is my fault because I am so "wide and big" (6'1 and a size 16 normally, so not Kate Moss but not a candidate for having the front of the house removed to get me out on a flat bed truck either) She then told me that my bump is small, but as she has never measured me, don't know how small and finished off by saying obese women like me don't need to put on weight with a baby, as we have enough fat anyway.

At this point I killed her and stuffed her body in the cupboard!

Only 4 more working days till I finish on Friday 14-Aug (woo hoo). Have NCT next week, 2 full days and an evening - anyone else done NCT and is it any good?

BabyLady · 06/08/2009 16:20

Gonna, all I can say is OMG to your midwife. I hope you really did kill her and stuff her in a cupboard. I am totally in awe at how awful she is...

daffodilli · 06/08/2009 16:39

What a good lo Tigerfeet!!

I hope you locked the cupboard after stuffing said crappy MW in it Gonnabamumma! Thought mine was bad, but yours really wins by a long stretch

Thinking of you StayFrosty, any news from your (D)H yet? xx (Hope you dont mind the D in brackets, am for you having such a worry xx)

StayFrosty glad he's turned up safe and sound, not unreasonable to hope for just a leetle mossie bite on his man bits though!! Hope he keeps in better contact with you from now on x

blinder · 06/08/2009 18:07

36 week check today and still no promise of a home birth because they are still short-staffed. But the nice midwife covering my rubbish midwife (who has karmically broken her ankle) has given me the numbers of everyone in authority who might be able to help. I am supposed to see the practice manager on Tuesday and I have the number for the Head of Midwifery too. Wish me luck!

Gonnabe - stunned and gobsmacked at the use of the word 'obese' to describe you! Is this midwife totally deranged? Bet she thinks babies are short too.

Frosty - yeah I hope they bite him right on the bumhole too! Glad that he is safe and sound though .

audreyraines · 06/08/2009 19:47

blinder, i'm really unimpressed by that. i would definitely push for a homebirth and just insist that you won't be going to hospital and you will expect someone to attend when you call and say you are in labour. don't give up!

this is an excellent site www.homebirth.org.uk/ have a look at the bit that talks about staff shortages, in particular about 'bank midwives'.

In one bit they say it's quite common for them to say that you'll have to come to hospital due to staff shortages, but if you insist that you will be staying at home, usually midwives are found.

The AIMS site is excellent too.
www.aims.org.uk/homebirthUpdated.htm#bookingAHomeBirth They tell you who you can write to to insist on your right to homebirth.

SprinkleofStardust · 06/08/2009 20:45

Gonnabeamumma I thought my MW's (I've had 4 so far) were not being great at the 'caring' side but your's outstrips them all!!!

I'd burn the cupboard after stuffing her body in it, just to exorcise the demons within her!! Who does she think she is??? What's her figure like? You sound lovely and definitely NOT obese!! Ooh I feel quite incensed on your behalf, please make a complaint about her!!

TigerFeet really pleased that your LO has turned, mine sometimes feels like he's moving furniture in there so hopefully he will be head down at my next MW appointment, which isn't til the 19th now. Have my consultant appointment in 2 weeks and he/she will decide if I can have a HB (although it doesn't really matter what they say I can't see any medical reason why I can't!!) but if I get the nobhead that I had last time I'm sure he will try to say I can't, but I will stick to my guns, he was an annoying twat who spouted a load of bollocks the whole time I was in there!!

Sorry for that rant, I think I must be feeling extra hormonal at the moment!!

StayFrosty so happy for you that you have heard from your DH, totally with you on hoping he gets bitten on his 'special poker!'
