ive just started getting these too quite late for me! with my dd1 they started at 16 weeks!! freaked me out and i went it for check left embarrassed lol

BexJ78 · 14/08/2009 21:19

ooh glad it's not just my MW! no BH yet, thank goodness I think they might freak me out!!!

damnitdamnit · 15/08/2009 13:22

Its interesting to find out what people are doing about getting a double buggy or not. i still don?t know what to do, so i think i will decide as i go along. My dd just wont walk anywhere at the moment, i am hoping it?s just a phase

Glad everyone seems to be the same as me, my midwife told me at about 20 weeks she did not need to see me till mid November (have hospital injection o have at 29 weeks though), however i made an appointment to see her just to get MAT B1 and grant will se her in a few weeks. They just don?t seem too bothered this time.

Catz · 15/08/2009 14:11

I have been seeing rather too many medical people recently - seem to be having a problem every weekend (and it is always weekends)!)

Last w/end I had a series of weird episodes where my vision kept going - lots of wavy lines and patches where I couldn't see - for about 30-40 mins. Had it a few weeks ago too. No obvious problem, might be 'hormones'.

Today I had spotting/bleeding for about 3 hrs. It's the 7th time it has happened. Mw had told me to call delivery suite if it happened again. Did, they were quite rude and asked if I had piles and was mistaking where it was coming from?! Erm no! Out of hours GP much more helpful, thinks I have a cervical erosion but need a scan to check for other problems.

Then yesterday I got an appointment to see a consultant at the hosp at 34 weeks. No idea what it's for or who referred me. GP spotted it and thought it was a bit odd but maybe because baby off the scale for growth at 20 wk scan. Pleased that someone is taking it seriously apart from just me but it would be nice to know what is going on.

Apart from that feel fine! Sorry for the long message, my previously completely normal pg seems to be taking me to a lot of waiting rooms at the moment!

Catz · 15/08/2009 14:15

Oh and on the much more important Q of buggies. DD will be 2.4/2.5 when the baby arrives (hopefully). I carried her in a sling everywhere for the first 6 months. I'm hoping that if I do the same this time I'll be able to have her in the buggy till she is nearly 3 and then get by with her walking or on a buggy board. She is quite a good walker at the moment so am hoping this is not a mad plan... mind you if anyone offers me a cheap P&T I might change my mind!

Claire236 · 15/08/2009 16:56

I've been having braxton hicks for about 3 weeks now (will be 24 weeks on Monday). Never had any with ds so was a bit shocked when they started particularly so early. Good to know I'm not the only one. Not felt any movement today which is unusual as he's been really active recently.

Milliemuffin · 15/08/2009 17:37

Hi girls, we had our 21wk scan yesterday and we were SO excited about finding out what we were having but I had a lapse of concentration before we left and I went for a wee so unfortunately then had to drink 2 bottles of water very quickly but it hadn't reached my bladder which meant baby was difficult to see so it will now be a complete surprise which I'm actually really pleased about it makes it more exciting and plus this is probably our last pregnancy so gotta have one surprise!

The sonographer got to see everything she needed to and she was happy with everything so no more scans!

Haven't had any branston pickles (thats what DP calls BHs!) as yet, can't believe some of you are getting them so early?! I assume those getting them early this isn't your first pregnancy?

DP is away this w/e and DS is fast asleep so I'm off to enjoy a nice cuppa with my pratical pregnancy mag, have a nice weekend all xxx

alexpolismum · 16/08/2009 15:12

That sounds good, milliemuffin!

I'm also having a surprise (out of choice). I didn't know you were supposed to drink water before going for a scan. This is my 3rd pregnancy and no one has ever mentioned it to me.

GoldenSnitch · 16/08/2009 20:34

I'm getting a lot more kicks now but baby seems to have an aversion to DH - everytime he touches my bumps she goes still!

I'm hoping he feels it soon...

AmazingBouncingFerret · 17/08/2009 07:58

Lol that happens with my DH, im starting to see the baby moving alot more now, for about 10 minutes the other night DH and I watched in amazement as my bump seemed to move Alien stylee.

Catz · 17/08/2009 09:08

I'm glad that's happening to someone else ABH. I remember it happening with DD at about 36 weeks but this one is amazing passers-by at 24 weeks... DH said not to worry as it just meant he was already very big and strong... not sure that was incredibly comforting with 16 wks to go!

sparklycheerymummy · 17/08/2009 09:30

i am having 3 BHs an hour at times and they can be so strong i pass out if i am stood up.... am seeing mw today (25wks) to see if its all ok. baby goes mad lots esp on an evening so think i have got a party animal. had BH with my dd but not as many or as strong or as early!!!

anniebigpants · 17/08/2009 11:34

MY BH are strong too and make me wince, they are definately earlier than with DS. Think will mention it to MW tomorrow when i see her, but am sure tis normal.

BexJ78 · 17/08/2009 15:16

Does anyone else feel as though they can hear/sense their heart beating all over their body?! Bizarre I know, but in the last week or so I have been able to hear my heart beating quite loudly in my ears! Hope i am not the only one!!!
i presume it is due to my heart working harder to pump the extra blood round, but a bit weird if you ask me!
Think we have got ourselves a second hand pliko pramette sorted. will of course have to get a new car seat for it, but other than that, it looks pretty good. We are going to pick it up tonight, so fingers crossed it is as good quality as it looked on its ebay description!!
Hope everyone is ok.

madmissy · 17/08/2009 18:02

my BH have got stronger with each pg and the after pains of labour are nothing to look forwrd too! they were zilch with dd1 agony with dd2 god help me with ds1!

madmissy · 17/08/2009 18:09

bex i have got a secondhand pliko!

think you S&P?

i have lovely bloomsbury covers that i put on the new all black frame and got matching new sip car seat and all the extras too!

well chuffed as i got all for such bargains!!!

Claire236 · 17/08/2009 18:24

BexJ78 - I get that too, it's very weird & I thought I was the only one.

I feel much further along than 24 weeks. Seeing my bump move & generally feeling like my insides are all squashed together definitely didn't happen this early with ds1. Didn't get any after pains with ds1, except when feeding so hoping they won't be too horrific this time round. Why are we all doing this more than once?

madmissy · 17/08/2009 18:51

cant be that bad this is 3rd time for me

AmazingBouncingFerret · 18/08/2009 07:56

I was in absolute agony with what I think were BH (I didnt have them first time round) I was all ready to make a trip to the hospital but thankfully they went away.

Im having to take it easy because I overdid it at work, im counting down the hours till maternity leave starts, im leaving in about 12 weeks! Cant wait to put my feet up because DS will still be going childminder twice a week!!

BexJ78 · 18/08/2009 12:14

Madmissy - We picked up the Pliko last night. we are very pleased with it - it is in the famiglia fabric and is in pretty good condition. Just needs a new rain cover and a bit of a polish up and then we will be well set for December! BTW, what does S&P mean? Also bought my first babygrows last weekend...it is starting to feel more real now!!

Claire236 - glad the ears thing isn't just me!!

madmissy · 18/08/2009 19:36

bex oooh fabby!
S&P is strollersandprams.com there was a bex on there also due same time but i may be very confused

famiglia is lovely i had that for dd2 big thumbs up

anniebigpants · 18/08/2009 20:26

Picked up crib today, which i got from ebay, its in fab condition and seller threw in loads of extras, fitted sheets etc, cant wait to set it all up when room which we,ll be using as nursery is set up, painted etc.
I got the pram/puschair out of the garage today which i used for DS, its a Jane Carrera. Pram part is fine, but not sure bout puschair, looks a bit tired. Going to give it good clean down, if it doesnt look almost new, going to get rid and get new one.
Plan to start going through all my newborn stuff i have ,to find out what i need to buy.
Im 25 weeks now, plan on going on maternity leave 12 weeks on Thursday.

GoldenSnitch · 18/08/2009 20:41

I'm struggling to remember that baby won't realise that all the muslins etc are blue and run out to buy pink ones...

My sister is going a bit crazy buying stuff anyway - I'm not sure there'll be anything left for me to get!

AmazingBouncingFerret · 19/08/2009 10:00

My cousin came round yesterday with her 7 month old daughter and a few very large bags of baby clothes, looks like I wont have to buy much in that department!!
Im jealous of people being able to decorate nurseries, we are stuck in a 2 bed flat for another year so the new arrival will have to kip in with us for the duration.
I'll make up for it when we have a new house to decorate!

On the maternity leave subject when are other people planning on starting?

sparklycheerymummy · 19/08/2009 11:09

i am due anywhere between 28th nov and 4th dec and am leaving work at end of october..... work are taking good care of me and as i work in a school half term seems a good time to finish..... also have had whole summer off so 7 weeks when i go back and counting!!! MW said my mega BH are fine and normal to get more and earlier and stronger second time round... however a bit annoying if i end up having to have a c sect cos of low lying placenta.....bidding for allsorts on ebay and getting some bargains!!!!!
