How are we going to measure quickest? C-sections are terribly speedy you know

katzguk · 29/04/2005 10:36

quickest - i think it has to be a vaginal birth, in this instance C-sections don't count.

JonahB · 29/04/2005 10:41

Jonah, I'm gutted, I thought I had spotted something no-one else had, i.e. that you were due in July and not June at all. RATS!

How are we defining "quickest" Is this active labour or when contractions are x number of minutes apart?

Chocolates? I wonder if there is an easier gift? Say something like an amazon.co.uk voucher to someone's e-mail. If we each chip in a fiver then that could be a useful gift certificate. And if we have a tie, then it would be enough to split in 2. Sorry if I hijacked your plan here. If so, just tell me to shut up and I'll go away.

teabelly · 04/05/2005 10:31

Uwila on my discharge notes with ds the hospital notes the length of (active) labour...maybe we could use this for the time indicator?? I presume for home births this same 'period' would be noted by the midwife?? My greedy piggy side is happy with the chocs, but I know some don't like them, so the voucher sounds like a very good idea too. I'm more than happy to contribute either way

katzguk · 04/05/2005 10:32

quickest will be shortest labour this one might be the tie breaker if necessary. its a bit of a grey area i suppose, my last labour offically was 56 hrs long but i was only in active labour for 4.5 hours

happy to go with whatever prize people want to do. So far there are 12 people signed up, so if everyone donated just one pound, then it would be a reasonable prize fund without anyone feeling they couldn't afford it.

i'm happy to coordinate the money/prize. if people want to email me on
katzguk at hotmail.co.uk

then i can send my address, a well padded pound coin will be fine!
