Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Congratulations B52s. Welcome Sam Martin.

BTW does anyone have an updated list of all arrivals and those still in the waiting room?

SpringySponge · 27/04/2009 16:50

Haha BB, I didn't think that were calling DH anything (I understand why you don't want to be away from your DH - I'd be the same ) Your table sounds beautiful, by the way!

for your ceiling xx

soon2be, how horrible of your MW. Nice that you're being so well supported & comments like the one about the age gap are so infuriating - even if she had the best point in the world, there's nothing you can do about it now!

purlease, sorry that things have been so stressful for you - well done for making the right decision for you & your family xx

Good luck with tomorrow's sweep, conker - I hope it all kicks off for you.

lou, thank you for that wisdom - I think I will just have to change my attitude towards it all & be less desperate for him to shut up - clearly it won't happen yet. There's only so much we can do, as you say.

Congratulations B52s So nice that you had a lovely HB

6 x 7lb 9oz on that list - how odd!

Juwesm · 27/04/2009 17:01

Sorry - Congratulations B52s! Welcome to baby Sam!

Getting v.close to end of thread and end of baby list.....wonder if we'll make it to Chapter 32 before we go post-natal? And surely Pintofstella, Hopeful1 and maybe Dungungirl must already have popped? Lauren also maybe.

Juwesm · 27/04/2009 17:02

Hugo is curled up on my chest like a little frog. He must be curled up like he was in utero, though not upside down! Such a cutie-pie!

Juwesm · 27/04/2009 17:04

If I surrounded him with flowers, he could be an Anne Geddes picture!

AuldAlliance · 27/04/2009 17:23

BB, sorry about your ceiling crisis. Hope you can get it sorted ASAP. DH is exhausted and stressed (thanks for asking). He says that his other colleagues, who seemed impressed when he was dignifiedly working his arse off after being sacked, now seem to think he's a bit daft not to be overjoyed that Bastard Boss wants to keep him on, and can't see why he's looking elsewhere.
This week he's doing the three on duty nights he was scheduled to do around my birth date, so we won't see him much. He's much less involved with Alex than he was with DS1, which is inevitable given his new working hours, but very sad.

Interesting about the green poo, as Alex's is often green. Since he's sucking to get off to sleep at night, maybe he's not getting to the hind milk...? There are so many ways to feel guilty when you have a baby. Then again, he'd reached 250g over his birth weight after a week, so he's not undernourished, I suppose.

Springy, your baby sounds like DS1; could be reflux? A sling is definitely the way to go if he needs to be upright. Hang in there, and don't worry about your resentment; I contemplated throwing DS1 down the loo on one very very bad night after about 8 wks of hell. Such thoughts are normal (I hope!!).

Nutty, I got one big clot but I seem to remember getting more clots with the others.

BB, I use unfragranced wet wipes. An invention sent by God IMO. No cotton wool has ever touched Felix's bits.

Auld, two of mine seemed to need dummies, two of mine rejected them. DS1 stopped using his once he got mobile, but in the meantime it kept us all sane.

Juwesm · 27/04/2009 17:34

Apparently it is Real Nappy Week!

Good stuff about the back consultant Nutty, I have a feeling things might really happen for you now.

Minush, congratulations, and what a lovely name. You should actually tell Vauxhall in case they want to send you a free car!!

BoffinMum · 27/04/2009 17:42

BB, re: diet at £47.50, I would fall for that. I am still 15 stone 4.5 lbs and have no clothes to wear, having declined the Tesco value basics size 22 jeans on grounds of them being a style disaster. In the playground today (for I did indeed survive doing the school run on my own), the Slimming World lady giving out free magazines stopped me especially and asked whether I would like one. I accepted, muttering 'I obviously look fat then' much to the (kindly) amusement of the other mums.

Juwesm · 27/04/2009 17:48

Excellent news Nutty! Good to have direct access to your consultant, cutting out all those middle men. He sounds like A Nice Man. Did you see Dr Scrottum at all during your labour?

BoffinMum · 27/04/2009 17:56

BB, have just read about your ceiling. Try Chris Napier on 07787 814253, who is Essex based but may know someone more local to you who is not a rip off plumber. Incidentally, we had a similar problem because the develop that built our house hired an idiot to do the plumbing here, and our insurance company covered everything.

Soon2be, that mw sounds horrible. I personally would like to congratulate you on having the self-discipline to concentrate on your children instead of worrying about tidiness for visitors.

Purlease, I had bf four and needed help in refining my technique each and every time. All children feed differently. I have an emergency stash of a formula carton and some pre-sterilised bottles in case I weaken one night, depsite being a rabid bf enthusiast!

frekkles · 27/04/2009 18:00

ho hum tiddly bum.

still here. is it wrong to be glad that you, my due date buddy comkers, is still pregnant?

altho listening to yous lot today i'm not sure i want this baby afterall, sounds a nightmare. hope you're all ok

damned if i do, damned if i don't.

sooooooooo tired today, done fuck all but lie about. my finger's swollen up too, can't get my ring off. should i be worried?

PuzzleRocks · 27/04/2009 18:03

Oh lord BB, what a bloody pain. (((hugs)))

Soon2be - I would make a complaint about m/w. Cow.

Congrats B52'S, sounds like it was a brilliant experience.

BoffinMum · 27/04/2009 18:08

I was wondering about Mr Scrottum as well. We should have a picture really.

Update on Planet Boff - Felix is not sleeping quite as well as I would like, so I am now getting very sleep deprived, being of advanced years and diminshed stamina. I have still got sore lady parts and a temperature, so went to the GP today and got various swabs done, and was prescribed a thrush tablet and some aqueous cream to wash my bits with, which seems to have helped a little. Lady doctor was very lovely and understanding and told me to come back without hesitation if I kept on feeling ill. Very nice doctor.

Other than that we are doing very well. I got two definite smiles today which melted my heart, and was able to show Felix off in the supermarket, pharmacy and children's shoe shop, so felt very popular!!

MW is discharging us on Thursday but I love her so much I am tempted to hang on to her ankles and stop her leaving. She is even coming to babysit for me on Wednesday morning for a bit so I can have a sleep!!!! (She's not very busy because of the credit crunch, so not many new clients on her books at the moment). I am very lucky to have her in my life.

BoffinMum · 27/04/2009 18:10

Frekkles, it will all be OK, I promise. The oxytocin rush sorts everything out for you once they're born. Nature has thought of everything.

conkertree · 27/04/2009 18:18

frekkles - i feel the same way - its nice to have another due date buddy still to pop - feel a bit left out of the new born chat - but they will come eventually.

am now thinking a May baby might be nice anyway. was just so convinced that this one wouldnt go longer than ds did but no real reason for thinking it (other than all the false starts last week).

mum has gone home after a week of helping us out incase the baby came - was a really nice week with her getting to spend lots of time with ds so wasnt at all wasted, but back to needing to rely on others if this lo comes in the middle of the night.

BabyBolat · 27/04/2009 18:20

Ok so have calmed down a bit lovely uncle came with mum and cleared up the mess and fixed the leak.

Phoned the insurance company and they will cover everything HOWEVER because i am claiming for ceiling, walls and carpets it falls under buildings and contents so have to pay the excess for each £100 each and will take a week for the surveyor to come and assess damage then once approved get quotes and get workman in etc. now my uncle is a painter and decorator and reckons he can do the ceiling and walls for £50 cost (no labour) and mum is pretty sure her carpet cleaner machine will get the carpet back to normal so and all will be done and finished by sat evening so am wondering if i should cancel my claim - i can do this at any time apparently - will obviously take them all out for dinner afterwards so will be £100 all in - what do you think?

boff yay for smiles -

seriously boff we are talking grilled chicken and green beans - you could cook that for a month for 47.50!! give yourself a break you just had 9 months of pregnancy and spd hell!!

congratulations B52!!!
