hi all - NUTTY, yay, glad you're back have missed you too!

I am back from hosp. Apparently it was hind waters, although I have soaked through my maternity pad, pants and trackie bottoms on the 15 min journey home! TBH I had little faith in the MW I saw tonight.

She pulled a great massive blob of red streaked plug out and said 'oh it's just increased vaginal discharge'

I am so tired though so it will be nice to get into bed for a bit. But I really thought I would meet my baby tonight

Omigod Nutty you should write a novel!! This is such a compelling account!!!

BUT

I wish I had been there to give that nasty mw a verbal Glasgow kiss on your behalf. Really she would have unleashed the full Boff, treating you like that - a sight not often seen but a tornado of tongue-lashing when it does materialise. I hope you make a formal complaint, if not the rest of this thread will, by jove. Or tell me her name and I will hunt her down like a dog.

AND

They were obviously under the mistaken impression that you were an aeroplane looking for a landing opportunity ... MISS YOUR SLOT???? MISS YOUR SLOT???? WTF were they thinking? You were trying to have a baby AND THIS IS NOT DONE IN SLOTS!!! WOMEN SHOULD NOT BE HELD IN HOLDING PATTERNS LIKE THIS!!!

The Boff's blood is up after hearing all this.

Tell us more, anyway Nutty, because we don't even know if you have had a cs.

LaurenIsMoreThanReadyToPop61 · 25/04/2009 08:51

morning everyone

Will read birth stories in a sec..
Congratulations to MORE! new babies!!!

..im still pregnant would you believe..

MW coming for another sweep today, loads of pain last night but never got regular, hmmph!!

...Reading through now

Northernlurker · 25/04/2009 09:08

I agree with yuou Boffinmum - the evident pressure these units are under is a disgrace. I CANNOT believe how long Nutty and Schulte were made to wait - and Schulte in terrible pain in particular. WHY didn't they giver her an epidural earlier than the c-section? It's a disgrace - Ladies you shold cut and paste your birth stories across to the maternity tsar chat and ask her if she thinks this is acceptable?

The fact that everything's ok now and the babies are lovely of course just doesn't change the fact that nobody has fought your corner (from the staff side - obviously your dhs were ace) enough to get you a better experience and as an NHS manager that worries me!

LaurenIsMoreThanReadyToPop61 · 25/04/2009 09:15

schulte - i cant believe they came in and told you the ladies cs before had gone wrong thats shocking - hope you're feeling better for getting it all out, and well done for being so strong, at least she's all okay now Hope your recovery goes okay and youre not in too much pain ((((big hugs))))

Purple - ARRRRRRRRGH! sprung that one on us sneaky!!! Well done you with that labour!

Springy - i know what you mean about the secret mum society me and my mum have never been so close, its lovely

surprise - that is EXACTLY what happened to me when i had to go in last week.. horrible isnt it ooh i really thought you'd beat me there!! oh well.. we'll plod further into overdueness together At least you know somethings happening down there, {{HUGS}}

anyone - whats a bishops score? just reading nuttys birth story

LaurenIsMoreThanReadyToPop61 · 25/04/2009 09:20

Nutty, you're back! Yay!

Give me the name of that evil MW & I'll hunt her down for you I'm actually so pissed at her that I can't begin to express it. I'll just sit & quietly simmer so I don't fill the thread with pointless swearing.

Haha, I see that Boff wants to hunt her down as well I love Boff's outrage - it's always so much more eloquent than mine. Seriously, the MW's so out of line. Definitely complain.

The whole thing sounds terrifying - you've done so well. & so has your DH. It must've been traumatic for you both & we're not even at the end of the story yet! Thank God you & your little girl are safe now, at least xx

surprise, she sounds useless - don't let her dishearten you. You're really, really close now.

SpringySponge · 25/04/2009 10:37

Ooh, immediately more Nutty! Excellent timing. We always seem to appear at the same time

It's always good when people know what you want & how you want it

Oh gosh, the next bit is more dramatic? Really? I'm not sure I'll cope! Dying to see pics, too.

Enjoy your girls, lovely xxx

PuzzleRocks · 25/04/2009 10:38

Nutty's back. Hooray, it's been quiet girl!
Have just read your first installment, god love your DH for putting SheBitch in her place. Officious cow.

Hi Meg, how are you?

PuzzleRocks · 25/04/2009 10:51

Angry hissing cat

That's a great idea of NL's about joining in the Gwyneth Lewis live chat.

Can't wait for the final installment and pics. You sound really well. Enjoy your family time. xx

surprisenumber3 · 25/04/2009 10:54

gosh nutty, you really have been through it can't wait to see the pics

I am still here, had the best night sleep ever as my mum had the DS's!

Hope the sweep works this time Lauren, I'm not even having one til Thursday!!!

brettgirl2 · 25/04/2009 11:12

Amazing story so far Nutty. I also can't believe this 'slots' thing that both you and schulte have faced . It doesn't sound either right or safe to me. Bitch MWs aren't good either but then there are bitches in all walks of life, so some are likely to be MWs. To have a system that as Boffin says seems to work in a similar manner to air traffic control is just .

Surprise at your MW. Good luck for the sweep Lauren, it sounds to me like something is happening re: the pains overnight.

I slept on my front last night what absolute BLISS

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 25/04/2009 11:42

OK so now I'm missing DP quite a lot. He just rang and all our friends have arrived at the castle where the wedding is happening....they've all brought their kids and the kids are all in the pool, it's beautiful weather, and they're having loads of fun

Whereas I'm shattered from a tough night with Orbit and dealing with a 3yo and a baby all on my own until 1pm when a friend arrives to help out. And I haven't managed to get out of the house yet.

Just cried down the phone at DP when he said he wished we were all there.

This is not going to go down in history as one of the best weekends of my life.

gingersarah · 25/04/2009 11:52

Congratulations to Trista, Schulte and Nutty!

Nutty, I haven't read your story yet, have just logged on and there is a cup of coffee on its way to me so I will settle in for the full drama.

Schulte - you hero. Well done.

MegBussset, welcome back. Is it bad form to mention... another place.... where I think you cyber-know my DP?

LaurenIsMoreThanReadyToPop61 · 25/04/2009 11:56

WFH it wont be long dont worry, we're here for your moans groans and tears

Still getting pains, some worse than others, i feel like im on a really heavy period. MW not been yet we just waiting. If these pains are anything will bouncing on my ball help make things happen???

surprise cant you ask for a sweep before then???? my induction could be before your first sweep surely thats not right i want us to give birth at same time!! wouldnt seem fair to go before you!! I'll wait for yoooou!!

Schulte · 25/04/2009 12:22

Hello lovelies

What a wonderful day. Have a four day old baby daughter who let me have a lie in until 9.30, then DH and DD brought me pancakes and DD helped change baby sister's nappy and introduced her doll and teddy bear to the baby (and my scar, which is apparently fascinating ). Feel like one very lucky bunny today! Hazel is currently asleep on my tummy getting ready for next big feed.

First of all, thanks so much for all your encouraging and kind words, it really helps to share this experience and you are all making me feel so much better about it. xxx

It sounds like Nutty wins the prize for the worst birth on the thread though.... so far... poor you sweetie

Still haven't caught up properly so will try to do that now!

gingersarah · 25/04/2009 12:57

Lauren - we are a week overdue today - what can be done?!

I feel like sleeping all the time, maybe I should.
My mum is missing a wedding in Spain that she RSVP'd to that she would only go if I had the baby and we were all ok. I feel guilty as I have no sense that I am going to produce any activity this weekend that can justify her staying in the country and missing the wedding.

Nutty the suspense is killing me.... I wouldn't be able to bear it if we didn't know that you were alive and posting with a lovely new daughter.

BabyBolat · 25/04/2009 13:36

NUUUUUUUUUTTTTTTTTTYYYYYYY!!! Hello lovely have missed you alot a bit young lady!! wooooow what a story cant wait for last installment!! how is tianha? and dd1 did she get crazy bear hugs when she walked in the door?

wfh ((hugs)) only 1.5 days left!! >

ginger - your mum wouldn't relax if she went so don't feel bad

lauren / surprise any more developments?

boff love the outrage

morning puzzle!

brett - sleeping on your front is the best thing ever - was one of the things i looked forward too the most!!

So finished my list - bar the cake making - dh was great and did the shelves etc last night and went food shopping this morning - although how is it i sent him with a list and lots of the things didnt get bought but we did get lots of random things instead - anyone for some gherkins? yuk!! had the first visitor, the second lot are running late so will clash with the third lot! tis like piccadilly circus here!!! but dh is making lunch kara is sleeping on my tummy and the last lot of washing is in - yay!!!

surprisenumber3 · 25/04/2009 14:22

Lauren - it will be my third sweep on Thursday! Don't wait for me - I'll still be waiting next April!

Right, off to mow the lawn and maybe dig the borders!

MegBusset · 25/04/2009 15:00

Gingersarah... I think I know who you mean

Good luck for those having sweeps, I'm due to have one on Tuesday when I'll be 41+1. But I had one when overdue with DS and it did nothing at all, so I'm not holding out too much hope!

SN3, I've been following your other thread, hope things get moving for you soon, I reckon you're due a super-short labour.

Off to do the vacuuming, maybe that'll get things moving...

LaurenIsMoreThanReadyToPop61 · 25/04/2009 15:29

Hellooo Ladieeees, Happy Lauren over here!

Had midwife come round and she bought a student midwife so got 2 sweeps!! The midwife they sent was really experienced as well, you know when you can just tell they know exactly what their doing? anyway her sweep was brutal! which i'd asked for! im 2-3cm dilated and dont have a posterior cervix! So feeling very optimistic..!

Been for a walk around town with DP to buy some nursing bras cos id forgotten!! Anyway im now having contractions 10-15minutes apart, some worse than others, some reaaallly intense, Hopefully she's stirred up enough to get it going but if not my induction is booked for tuesday evening!! so either way im quite content now

anyone other pregnant people having any labouring symptoms?

Lovely sunshine here too

xx

LaurenIsMoreThanReadyToPop61 · 25/04/2009 15:33
