surprisenumber3 · 24/04/2009 19:11

hee hee, thanks Springy, I would love to borrow George - will get a-ha at the ready!

I have been thinking I'm close for the last 3 weeks, longest pre-labour ever this is!!

SpringySponge · 24/04/2009 19:15

I have to say though, I feel really pleased that I didn't go overdue - you have my greatest sympathies there - all of you who are past their EDDs.

& I'll just package him up & send him over to you, then. He's due to start crying for milk in the next 10 minutes, so I'll have to get rid of him quickly

BoffinMum · 24/04/2009 19:16

You can borrow Felix as well but only for nightimes!!

BoffinMum · 24/04/2009 19:17

hey springy give me that youtube link with george on again ... want to watch while feeding

7 weeks - okay you beat me Yep, I hate going over and now I've gone past when DS2 was born as well it feels horrible. Plus, I have started to feel a bit poorly over the last few days and it's a bit depressing.

Ok, send George and Felix over...will be waiting!

BoffinMum · 24/04/2009 19:20

stork is booked to bring felix over after this feed.

he likes his neck tickled (felix not stork)

Northernlurker · 24/04/2009 19:23

Bravo to all the April ladies who have birthed and more shouts of encouragement to those still gestating. None of you gave birth on dd1's birthday but dd3 shares her day with the daughters of Kitty and Schulte - obviously young ladies of discernment

It's amazing that was two years ago (or 11 for dd1!)

Schulte - sorry you've had such a tough time. Why didn't they at least get you an epidural in the afternoon - you needed one for the section anyway, I echo what others have said about a debriefing - and in you shoes I would want to know about how they monitored your labour. By the sounds of things they did an internal at 9 and then at 3ish? I'm just wondering how they were sure you weren't going to birth before that. As far things turned out obviously you were there having a long slow labour (you poor thing) but when they were off arranging the theatre timetable how did they know that? Anyway all that aside - just wanted to say that feeling down about this is perfectly natural and to be expected. You've been through a massive amount of pain - before and after the op and like all trauma that takes some getting over. You will get over it though - and you have done everything absolutely right. Enjoy your little girl

SpringySponge · 24/04/2009 19:24

I didn't get him packaged in time, so you'll have to wait 90 minutes whilst he feeds

& It has to be over soon.

George's video

How are you, Boff?

surprisenumber3 · 24/04/2009 19:31

I can neck tickle!
Thanks Springy, she will arrive one day!!

brettgirl2 · 24/04/2009 20:24

Surprise, feel free to moan as much as you want - being overdue and feeling nothing is happening is just the pits. My RL friend who had the same due date as me was going to be induced yesterday, but I haven't yet heard - I assume that she's had her baby by now. As springy says it must be over soon.

OK, so in two days Hannah gained 120g. That seems quite a lot to me, although also quite comforting after being threatened with SCBU. Therefore she is clearly getting something from BM. I'm still quite undecided about what to do. She was cluster feeding in the morning and the evening prior to the top ups so I may go back to this as it is also likely to help supply. However, we need to gain more weight prior to being discharged from MWs to HV. I think HV will be more constructive re: my difficulties. I met her in hospital and she diagnosed tongue tie in another baby in seconds and was really helpful with that mother and baby.

Schulte - I am at your treatment.

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 24/04/2009 21:01

Evening all

Schulte it sounds like you really went through the mill, well done you for getting through it all and I echo everything others have said about making sure you have a good debrief about it all. And congratulations on your DD!

Congratulations to Nutty and Purple and Soon2be, the list grows ever longer!

We are at home and surviving the fact that DP is in Vienna for a wedding all weekend - he left this morning and I had to resist the urge to hang onto his ankle and beg him to stay.....However, we went to playgroup this morning and then my mum came for lunch and then we spent the afternoon at a friend's house - bless her, she made DS1 tea with her DD, and fed me a sandwich and a glass of wine before we came home. DS1 fell asleep in the car so I put him straight to bed and Orbit has just gone down, so I'm going to watch Doctor Who and go to bed shortly. Good friends are worth their weight in gold .

brettgirl well done on Hannah's weight gain, 120g sounds pretty good to me!

Orbit is doing well, was 10lbs 10oz at last weighing on Tuesday, he is piling on the pounds that boy. Rocking him to sleep in my arms when he's cranky is really building up my biceps.....

BabyBolat you need to slow down woman, tear up your list and get some sleep you nutcase!

Anyway, back to the delectable Mr Tennant...

PuzzleRocks · 24/04/2009 21:03

Schulte - I am amazed at your fortitude. You have the heart of a lion and I applaud you.
Please offload on us as much as you need to.

I hope you don't think me presumptuous, but you might find website useful.

All the best xx

PuzzleRocks · 24/04/2009 21:05

Blimey WFH, i'm panicked about DH just returning to work, and I only have two.

PuzzleRocks · 24/04/2009 21:08

Purple - Looking forward to hearing more. Great name, especially Elizabeth
DD1 was born 23/04/07 at 7.13pm.
I hope you are well?

BabyBolat · 24/04/2009 21:34

Purple congratulations- all sounds great can't wait for the story.

Schultes cannot even begin to find the words but you did amazingly and do make sure you get the support u need now x we are always here to offload!!!

Now for a drum roll of my own!!! Yes ladies my bathroom is finished! Well technically we still need to buy a mirror and cap the radiator pipes but all the shelves are now up and toiletries in! Dh re ions an hour tom morning should get last minute things done!!!

I'm off to have a nap now well done again purple and schultes Xx.

BabyBolat · 24/04/2009 21:35

Brett yay for weight gain!!

SpringySponge · 24/04/2009 21:47

brett, that's really good news WRT weight gain - you must be so pleased. I hope you can get discharged ASAP & get to deal with the lovely, helpful HV (who knew they existed?!)

WFH, David Tennant is rather lovely, isn't he? 10lb10 is loads! George is back up to birth weight (8lb15) & that feels like my arms will break sometimes. Which has just drawn my attention to the fact that my right boob is beginning to get sore again - we must be due a feed

I've been on the phone to my mum for the last hour & 40 minutes - & I'm seeing her tomorrow! It's funny how having a baby suddenly makes you part of a special Mum Club, where women start taking you seriously. Even my own mother sees me differently now, but it is everyone who's had children. It's like pregnancy & motherhood are a rite of passage into a secret society. It's quite nice

I'm not surprised that you were unsure about your DP going to Vienna - I resent envy really notice DH being at uni, even though the feeding is all my responsibility anyway. Just being able to go to the toilet without a crying baby watching me is a luxury these days. & I don't have another child to look after! & now he's out getting drunk rightfully celebrating his birthday with his idiot friends & I'm home alone again. (That's a lot of pent up feeling! )

BB, I don't know how you can even begin to consider that bathroom finished if you've not capped the radiator pipes Go & stand in the corner & think about what you've done (You really are quite mad - thank goodness it's done, so you are freed of that particular set of tasks on your insane list)

surprisenumber3 · 24/04/2009 21:58

waters have gone! constant trickling anyway, am about to phone delivery suite

SpringySponge · 24/04/2009 22:03

BoffinMum · 24/04/2009 22:52

could not dispatch felix via stork as he made us take him to a tapas bar instead. i had to eat lots of tapas and then process it all for him so he could benefit too.

this is currently in progress and typing with one hand so can't do caps.

Hello all, I haven't been on this thread in a few months as been too busy and then it seemed to move far too quickly to keep up with! But just thought I'd join in for the last few days...

I seem to have fallen off the baby list some time ago, so have added myself back in. Due date was Monday but not so much as a twinge yet.

Congrats to all those who have popped so far
