Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
kazkiss · 23/04/2009 14:44

i know brett as ju can confirm...it was only that, full fat coke and wotsits that got me through the day!

Juwesm · 23/04/2009 14:45

Well. Within 30 seconds of strapping on his first reusable nappy, he has filled it with a big korma poo! What a sweetheart!

Hi Kazz!

Still nothing from Nutty? She must fully underway by now, non?

soon2befamilyof4 · 23/04/2009 14:49

TBh I have just drank a bottle, even though I know I shouldn't. Like you brettgirl, I feel like I might die without it! lol. I honestly don't feel happy AT ALL today. Sorry to keep moaning to you all and being very me me me but I am just very today and feel like total shit.

I have just emailed a cleaner that has done the odd day here and there for me in the past, and who I still see occasionally, to see if she can come and help me in the next few days. But TBH I really need an answer as if not I will find another cleaner. We REALLY can't afford it but after today I just don't care. Even if it means eating beans on toast for 2 weeks! lol.

surprisenumber3 · 23/04/2009 14:57

I have dranks tonnes of Lucozade over the last few weeks too. MW just said it can make baby a bit bigger if you drink to excess.

soon2befamilyof4 · 23/04/2009 15:06

really? I have been told my baby is big this time - DD was 6lb at a week overdue! Maybe the lucozade could be partly to blame?

I don't really know what to do with myself today TBH. I hate just sitting aaround feeling sorry for myself! But I can't physically do a lot more than that!

soon2befamilyof4 · 23/04/2009 15:25

DD has just falen asleep on the sofa. I KNOW I am going to regret it this evening when it comes to putting her to bed but right now I just need a bit of space from her. I am off to go and do some quick housework now.

Sorry and Thanks for all listening to me moan all day!

brettgirl2 · 23/04/2009 15:29

Don't beat yourself up about it. I somehow doubt that drinking lucozade is that bad. We need perspective - if you were shooting up heroin then that would be bad

You're also allowed to be fed up. Being in late stages of pg/overdue is horrendous.

BabyBolat · 23/04/2009 15:48

Soon2be - leave DD asleep, leave the housework and sit on the sofa watch some TV and eat some chocolate!

Well not making it to the post office - kara has slept like a lovely baby this afternoon and don't have time to walk in so will have to go tomorrow (ah well an extra day wont hurt!)

As far as I am concerned anything that gets you through pregnancy (and is legal) is fine! I drank so much coke in the first trimester (can' stand the stuff normally) and ate so much chocolate for 9 months and everyone said I would have a big baby and out popped my little 6lb man!

Juwesm · 23/04/2009 15:51

Shhhh, everybody, and fingers crossed. Hugo is in the basket asleep! I have put him into a milk-induced sleep.

Is it bad that I now just want to get him back out again and cuddle him instead? This child may have apron-string issues later on!

Ah. A little arm is waving above the edge.

soon2befamilyof4 · 23/04/2009 15:54

see, I hadn't been that bothered about being overdue until today really. I think I am just sooo tired and I am in pain when I move and I feel so sorry for DD not getting any attention! And although I have moaned about her, she is a good girl really and considering she is teething she is actually doing really well. I am praying that my sister will offer to have DD tomorrow for me so I can sort my house out. It is actually at the point where I am embarrassed to even invite a cleaner over to help!

soon2befamilyof4 · 23/04/2009 15:59

DD woke up after about 20mins .

soon2befamilyof4 · 23/04/2009 16:04

Juwesm - did the reusable nappy contain the poo? Out of interest! What nappies you using? We are using washables on DD and will be on the newborn but the only question is WHEN we put the newborn in them. Have got some disposables for in hospital etc. We got a good few packs of free huggies so don't particulally need to move to cloth for weeks really but I think I prefer the washables to disposables. And DD doesn't do well in disposables at all and they are only really for emergencies for her. And then she ends up with a big sore bum!

BabyBolat · 23/04/2009 16:21

soon2be we used reusables after 1 week and have had no more problems with leaks than with the disposables! x

soon2befamilyof4 · 23/04/2009 16:43

what nappies are those BB?

BabyBolat · 23/04/2009 16:50

close parent pop in nappies! They are brilliant!

I made the mistake of using the booster insert all the time and he is too little for it so gave him nappy rash as the wee was too close to his willy worm but have taken it out now and is so much better!

BabyBolat · 23/04/2009 16:51

Ok am so unfit - used to be able to do 500 sit ups a day, i just did 10 and almost died!!!

Juwesm · 23/04/2009 17:07

Soon2be - there was not really any leaking, although you could see there was an almost leak at the edge of one of the legs. But, it was our first go, and he may be a bit too small still. We've got BumGenius. I am a bit worried that they are a bit tight around his wee thighs - he had marks on his legs where the elastic was, but maybe we'd done it up too tight. Will check the next one. Did you have an similar problems BB? Also, as they're quite large compared with a disposable, do I need to worry about the extra warmth in bed? They're practically a layer of clothing on their own!

I don't think that I have done 500 sit-ups in my entire life! I rather like my peculiar springy post pg belly. It wobbles in a way nothing else wobbles!

I want more news! Where are the babies?!

I have concluded I don't want to go back to work, I want to be a SAHM. Although this may only be if I can fix time and keep Hugo as a newborn forever.

soon2befamilyof4 · 23/04/2009 17:08

BB - I wouldn't even b able to do 10! Even if not pregnant! Be careful though, I think you are meant to wait 6 weeks before doing anything like that. Don't want to strain yourself!

I had one modern baby pop in a while ago for DD and didn't get on very well with it so swapped it. BUT DD is 15 months and a very heavy wetter (would leak through disposables every 3 hours). So I might well have got on with them with the newborn.

Juwesm · 23/04/2009 17:09

Is there anything wrong with having baby sleeping lying on your chest, on his front? He loves it, but 'back to sleep' and all that? Does it not matter so much as you are awake and keeping a v.close eye on them?

Oy, it's a whole new world of things to get in a flap about!

BabyBolat · 23/04/2009 17:21

Juw, Kara sleeps on me like that all the time especially if he's just had a nappy change and feed and we're skin to skin- at least for a couple of hours a day and I normally fall asleep for a bit too!

Have never seen the modern baby ones - I really like the close ones as they are so soft and comfy - they are very warm so just tend to put on a vest and small blanket at night. Kara wee's a lot but tends not to poo in a wet nappy so we get through a fair few - as soon as the new one is on out comes the wet curry poo!!!

Re flapping - I just think you can't get too caught up in what you should and shouldn't do - I had to sign this thing with my HV saying I wouldn't have Kara in bed with me but we co-sleep occasionally as he likes it!

bronze · 23/04/2009 17:26

ok dont have time... whats nutty news?

BabyBolat · 23/04/2009 17:26

we haven't heard anything from her bronze xxx

surprisenumber3 · 23/04/2009 17:38

Hi all

Been to MW, wasn't my usual one but she was lovely

Am 2 cm dilated now, cervix is still thick but easy to find, low and facing the right way. Sweep didn't hurt at all this week whereas last week my cervix was so hidden I was in agony! She said she had had a good go and that the waters were bulging and babys head was really far down and sidewards.

Have got an induction date of next Fri, but that seems miles away!

Juwesm · 23/04/2009 17:48

BB - I can't believe you had to sign something to say you wouldn't co-sleep! How odd! I don't even understand what purpose such a document would serve?

LaurenIsMoreThanReadyToPop61 · 23/04/2009 17:56

Trista Yaaay!! That was record time labour! Well done for beating the induction haha!

Surprise: Sounds much more promising than my MW appt today, my cervix is the wrong way, I don't even know what that means but doesn't sound good Haven't had anything except bit of discomfort since my sweep. Got another one Saturday then will book induction for probably Tuesday. I know that isn't that far away but i really feel now that it's never going to happen! I'm such a moaner on here atm sorry everyone Sick of people ringing up and asking me and texting me, whether its out of concern or nosiness its really annoying me! Someone on facebook i went to school with that i hardly ever see wrote "you need to hurry up and squat him out what you being lazy for" and my cousin who lives a few hours away wrote "i had it all worked out for when i was coming to see you so he was 2weeks old and now its all messed up and its all your fault!" I know they're trying to be funny but that isn't something you say to someone that's been pregnant for OVER 9months!!
