conker - that sounds like a nice day. just be careful not to over do it!

WhatFreshEggIsThis · 16/04/2009 09:00

Morning all,

Just posted the birthday boy (DS1) off to nursery clutching his new Spiderman motorbike in his 3 year old fist......Can't believe my baby is three already! Orbit Buttonhole gave him (via Mum and Dad..) a bubble gun and DS1 covered the kitchen table liberally with bubble mixture, was very happy with that present too!

Thank goodness we managed to go shopping yesterday, it was all a bit rushed in between registering Orbit and picking DS1 up from nursery, but we got it done. I was exhausted though, and my scar was really hurting last night, so time for a VERY quiet day in the FreshHell household.

No news on Puzzle yet?

BB can't believe you're still working on that bathroom, you could at least have finished it before having Kara...

Swaliswan, these last few weeks are the worst for sure - hope your baby comes soon!

No Hip money for us, sniff, our due date was too early.

Congratulations Bronze and Juwesmum, lovely name Bronze! Looking forward to birth stories, and where's the rest of yours MumbleMum?

xxx

BabyBunnyBolat · 16/04/2009 09:23

WFH - no HIP money for us too but actually I was so bored of being pregnant no amount of money could have made me want to keep him inside any longer - was soooo ready to have him out!

I know - we are real slackers - I mean last night we didn't do ANYTHING in there at all!!! DH watched hi programmes and my sister came round and there was no painting or no skirting board going up or sealant or anything - Karahan will be 10 before this room is finished!!!

I want the rest of mumbles story and puzzle's.... what good is a lazy day if there are no babies to keep up with!!!

BabyBunnyBolat · 16/04/2009 09:35

Are you all off having babies????...

Swaliswan · 16/04/2009 10:00

No, I'm here. I should be doing something with DD but feel so rotten that I'm letting her sit there eating a bowl of shreddies in front of cbeebies.

Swaliswan · 16/04/2009 10:11

I reckon that the whole of the rest of the April gang are off having their babies though. I'm going to be sat here by myself in May, still pregnant. Even Nutty will have abandoned me!

tartetatin · 16/04/2009 10:20

Swaliswan - I'm still here too, watching from the wings; due on the same day as you so understand the frustration. I've got it into my head that this chap won't be arriving before first week of May. Like you DS is watching beebies - seems quite chilled so will leave him for the time being and do some chores (yawn)

Swaliswan · 16/04/2009 10:26

Hmmmmmm, DD has learnt to pull her trousers down and is very proud of herself. Do I dare take her to toddlers and risk having a toddler trying to run around with her trousers round her ankles?

BabyBunnyBolat · 16/04/2009 10:35

oooh Swali take her and lets hope she does it as that will be very very funny!!! sorry!

purlease · 16/04/2009 10:45

okay - too tired to read through latest thread - have just had 2 sleepless nights.

Just wanted to report in that Adam was born on Tuesday at 19:53 weighing 9lbs 2ounces.

Will post details later

Bleuravin · 16/04/2009 10:51

oh so many babies and labors! how exciting Congrats everyone! Your little ones are all so darling...

Meg almost 2 weeks already and I'm not finding it as lovely as I thought I would honestly. I cannot really enjoy things for stress about the next feed and the pains associated. I had to walk away from Meg the other day after half an hour of squirmming and scream (on her part) and no latch-on. I really wanted to shout at her... bad mommy

purlease · 16/04/2009 10:52

Ah just found nuttys update - congrats to all other recent arrivals and good luck to those waiting to hatch

BabyBunnyBolat · 16/04/2009 10:56

ooooh Purlease congratulations - can't wait for the full details - well done you!!

Oh bleu (hugs) I know this is not going to help but try not to stress and feel too bad about things, it is only natural that things will take time to work out - there is no hard and fast rule as to how to become the perfect mum in just a few days - its much harder than they let on you know!!!

Have you spoken to your midwife about the bf issue - or the NCT as they can get someone round to help you - that is what they are here for!

Don't worry about shouting, I got really ratty with kara last night because he was hungry and tired and squirming around like a nightmare and just avoiding doing either but crying in to my tummy getting himself in a state and I just kept pulling him around and had to give him to DH for a cool down period on both are parts - and I am lucky as on the whole he is such a good baby so have real sympathy for you - make sure you are getting all the help you need though. Have you tried the skin to skin thing or a warm bath together?

Bleuravin · 16/04/2009 11:03

We've been to lots of bf clinics and heard so many things over and over... but unfortunately no one can really explain why the latch is so painful or why things don't work well for us.
Trouble is it's a bit like revulsion therapy... everytime i pick her up I'm in pain and know more pain is coming...

Your night sounds like my typical feed experience, so sympathies too.

Meg is pleasant otherwise however.

surprisenumber3 · 16/04/2009 11:07

Congrats Purlease!!

brett - any news?

Well I didn't go back in in the night. I had painkillers and managed to go to sleep. woke up loads and loads and loads of times in the night with contractions but they seem to have stopped a bit now. Just got a dull period type ache. Seeing midwife later but, I mean, 1 cm dilated - that is nothing so I'm not building hopes up!

Got my HiP money in - yay!

Any news on Puzzle?

BabyBunnyBolat · 16/04/2009 11:16

oh bleu that must be very hard i have no helpful advice!! sorry

is meg putting on weight?

Bleuravin · 16/04/2009 11:16

yay for HiP money

BabyBunnyBolat · 16/04/2009 11:17

kara just burped in my face!!!! he is a lovely boy!!!

Bleuravin · 16/04/2009 11:17

Yes; Meg is fine so no concern about her...it's wether or not her mother has a breakdown that's the problem

KittyCatIsGettingFat · 16/04/2009 11:18

No babies yet...

Surprise - keep squeezing!! You go girl!

Bleu - I'm sorry to hear about your BF pain... something I'm not really looking forward to at all...

BB - crazy lady, you are soooo fab with your DIY one week after birth!!

BabyBunnyBolat · 16/04/2009 11:21

is it just the bfing or you feeling down about other things too?

we're all here for you to offload if it helps xx

kitty - come on woman, what are you hanging around for?!!!

Swaliswan · 16/04/2009 11:23

Congrats to Purlease. There are quite a few large babies being born, aren't there?

Bleu, I would strongly suggest taking Meg to a cranial osteopath. It was the only thing that sorted out DD's feeding problems and it worked extremely quickly. At this stage it should only take a couple of sessions. It is a very gentle treatment and you will probably find out that there is a reason for all of her squirming that can be sorted really quickly.

I wimped out of toddlers when DD insisted on baking cakes

BabyBunnyBolat · 16/04/2009 11:26

Oh swali you spoilsport!!!

gingersarah · 16/04/2009 11:29

Purple - that is exactly right, feet rising like bread dough - mine look like little soft white loaves with toes attached.

Congratulations to purlease!

Fingers crossed for puzzle...

bleu, sorry to hear things are tough. I can't advise as have no experience but someone will be able to help you, and if not, you and Megan will sort it out. Wishing you all the best.

to be honest - and maybe I am in denial - I am much more worried about the first weeks of baby care than giving birth!

However, the ebay tummy tub - which I have decided is the sine qua non of 21st century baby care - has arrived, which has put me in a good place psychologically as a proto-parent.
