Springy - I think you look incredible... and lil George is the cutest moo-cow ever!!! I waaaaaant one of those cow outfits...

KittyCatIsGettingFat · 13/04/2009 22:31

And I wouldn't mind a lil baby to put IN the cow outfit, either... any day now, mini-munchkin!!! Take your time!!!

surprisenumber3 · 13/04/2009 22:49

Springy - you have a lovely belly and little George is just SOOO cute - I want my baby NOW

I grazed upwards with DS2 and had to tip a jug of water over the area every time I peed - was horrible

soon2befamilyof4 · 13/04/2009 22:49

at the caster oil info. Thanks puzzle. Won't try it.

I have tried:
Pineapple, sex, orgasams, clary sage oil, jasmine oil and nipple stimulation as well as lonts of walking and activity. I am not at all suprised that nothing has works but just wondering if there is anybody else I haven't tried? I haven't really done enough nipple twiddling for it to help - I always forget!

chickaleggjac · 13/04/2009 22:50

Hi everyone
Congratulations to all new babies, it's lovely reading all your birth stories and looking at the pics.
I've had a crazy weekend. My body has found the contraction button, and is randomly pressing it, sometimes turning the strength right up so I have to really focus on my breathing. However the strongest were between 2 and 4 this morning and not strong at all since. Bloody hell it really gets to you after a while. Springy I really dont know how you coped for so long like this, I'm so impatient now.
When I have no contractions it's fine and I'm patient but then I get a few and I keep thinking ooohhh maybe this is it, but nothing is coming together so far.
Oh well, suppose I really shouldn't moan, I mean I'm not even due yet.
To everyone who is overdue I take my hat off to you, I don't know how you are all still staying sane, I'm nearly cracking up at times!
Well I'm now the most pregnant I've ever been as I'm 39+4 and had DS at same but earlier in the day!

soon2befamilyof4 · 13/04/2009 22:50

Oh and peeing in the bath definatly helps if you are really sore. Urine is actually sterile so there is no need to bleach the bath or anything after - as long as you wash it out as usual it will be fine. I am sure all our DC pee in the bath at times and we don't even know it!

surprisenumber3 · 13/04/2009 22:57

Ds2 was in the bath with me the other day and suddenly said 'I've had a little wee'. Great!

chickaleggjac · 13/04/2009 23:06

Ha ha puzzle you're brilliant, what would we do without you!

BoffinMum · 13/04/2009 23:48

Springy, DH has inspected your photo and he thinks you look very pretty and a happy mummy, and the belly just signifies fecundity to any sensible male of the species, and that is apparently attractive.

(All I can say is that I wish I had a belly like that).

DH obviously thought the same about the birthing pool shot of mine he nearly sent around his department at work, on the grounds that it was 'lovely' and 'the only photo we had with all three of us on it'. I vetted his choice of photos after that.

MathsMummy is very quiet. I wonder if she has Done The Deed yet?

BoffinMum · 13/04/2009 23:50

Schulte, I think the laid back bf thing is working very well and yes, it has spared my nipples a great deal of damage I think.

BTW Springy, you should NOT be out and about yet, you should be lying in for at least 7-10 days recovering from the birth IMO. You are a naughty lass.

surprisenumber3 · 13/04/2009 23:55

I've had no further text from MM since this morning Boff - will be sure to update when I do

SpringySponge · 14/04/2009 03:18

Haha, you lot (& BoffinDad) are too kind

surprise, I grazed upwards & got cut downwards. The MW who checked the stitching before discharge actually made a face & said 'oooooh, that's quite an episi!'

soon2be, let your car be taken in for servicing over a bank holiday weekend so you're put off going to the hospital because it's expensive & inconvenient - that's what worked for me

Boff, I think vetting photos is a wise move & I know I shouldn't really have gone out. Weeing myself in public proved that. But I've been pretty much trapped in my flat for months & despite my fanjo, I feel better than I have since about August! I will be good for a couple of days now, though.

conkertree · 14/04/2009 06:53

springy - what were you doing messaging at 03.18 too? Was George feeding?

Am trying to think of a good series of DVDs to have near the bed to have on as mindless watching for during night feeds - I remember trying to read with ds and not managing to successfully balance a book all that well.

Bound to be a few birth announcements today - or at least a few born today even if we dont hear till tomorrow.

Ds is calling me to help him build a railway line so better be off with my rlt. Mw today - would love to know if anything is progressing but doubt she will do more than the usual tests.

purplemonkeydishwasher · 14/04/2009 07:10

morning!

congrats Lou!! LOVE the name!!

not much going on here. was woken up at 5:50 this morning by DS saying he was going to be sick. managed to grab a small blanket out of the laundry for him to do the deed on, so spared the bed (thank god!)

he's now laying down on the sofa with pillow and blanket watching Nick jr. he keeps saying he's hungry but doesn't want dry toast or indeed anything non-milk related. but too bad so sad! i'm not sure if it's just overindulgence from the weekend (there was a LOT of chocolate) or a bug. our friends' had a d+v bug last week and we were at theirs on thursday. we'll see how the day goes. i'll have to phone MIL to pick up a few supplies for us on her way to work. hopefully she won;t mind (not that i care if she does!!)

i slept really badly last night as well so i'm knackered. i want to either be asleep or laying on the sofa with a blanket and pillow watching MY shows. no fair.

OH dh was a star this weekend. cot is up, new blind is up in DS's room, back porch is cleaned and organized, DS's toys have been sorted and lots are ready for the charilty shop (as well as 2 bin bags full of broken stuff for teh bin ). i felt bad because he was doing all this stuff with DS trailing after him while i lay on the sofa talking to my mom on the phone. DS is really becoming a daddy's boy (finally!!) and just wanted to help him. (he had his own litle tool box and everything)

PuzzleRocks · 14/04/2009 07:33

Good morning

I started leaking amniotic fluid in the night. It was clear and not sticky like discharge and certainly didn't smell like wee so i'm fairly sure of what it was. Just a very slow small trickle, no more than a regular panty liner could cope with. What do I do? I don't want to ring the midwfe unnecessarily and certainly not if it is going to jeopardize my shot at a homebirth. I haven't got any other signs of progress and i'm not due for eight days. Help o wise ones.

PuzzleRocks · 14/04/2009 07:34

Sorry, good morning Purple. I hope DS gets better soon.

surprisenumber3 · 14/04/2009 07:43

brettgirl2 · 14/04/2009 07:50

Congratulations to MM, lovely names again.

So I may or may not get a sweep today depending on which midwife turns up to my appointment lol. One will sweep at 40 weeks and the other not till 41!

purplemonkeydishwasher · 14/04/2009 07:54

YAY MM!!! CONGRATS!!!

Puzzle - I'm not sure what you should do. hopefully someone much much more wise than I will be around soon!

Brett - you'd think that they'd all be trained to do the same thing. do you want a sweep?

OP posts:
brettgirl2 · 14/04/2009 08:05

Well if it's offered then I'll give it a go. I'm not desperate, they don't seem to be making much difference to anyone else! There doesn't seem to be a definite directive, it's left to the individual midwife. It isn't something I can be arsed to kick off about tbh.

Puzzle, we are told to go in if waters break. Isn't there a risk of infection?

PuzzleRocks · 14/04/2009 08:06

CONGRATULATIONS MM.

Such a pretty name. Can't wait to hear all the details.

Juwesm · 14/04/2009 08:09

Congratulations Maths! We're getting there one by one! Did you get your waterbirth?

I'm sitting in the hosp on the CTG at the mo', getting baseline trace, and then waiting for doctors I think. I think the way forwards now is just to be positive and perky, but not take any bull! I'm still finding it hard to get into right frame of mind. As much as it's nice to basically know when it's all going to happen, it does not feel at all as though I'm about to have a baby, as still no signs of labour at all!

Any further news from Lauren? She opted out of buddy didn't she?

I have forgotten my mobile! Oops!
