soon2befamilyof4 · 09/04/2009 18:54

I am trying to stop worrying about going overdue - trying the focus on that May is a very nice time to have a baby anyway! Lol.

surprisenumber3 · 09/04/2009 18:58

springy - hugs, can't believe how long they've taken to let you know

BB - olive oil could work, Ds's were given Aqueous cream when they were babies for dry skin.

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 09/04/2009 19:39

Soon2Be - Lol you have a few days yet before you get to due dont worry too much about going overdue just yet oohhh if your going to mc d's i would love a big mac

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 09/04/2009 19:43

ahhh BB thats the stuff i was trying to think of!! Sudocreme (just saw a big tub in the bathroom )!! that stuff works wonders on any skin complaint for bambinos!!

mathshoneybunny27 · 09/04/2009 20:02

they didn't find the magic button

but massage was lovely
I am incapable of anything useful apart from reading and eating chocolate (yay! at last)it seems. why???

soon2befamilyof4 · 09/04/2009 20:02

No, I haven't been to McDonalds. I bathed DD and put her to bed. BUT she is now back down here with me so I wish I had just gone.
I now have a vege burger with tinned spagetti.

I wanted a quater pounder or a chicken sandwich meal. And chips. And a choc milk.

JuwEggsm · 09/04/2009 20:05

Mmmmm.....milkshake.........

Schulte · 09/04/2009 20:18

I'll have a filet'o'fish (sp?), 2x large fries plus ketchup, and a couple of cheeseburgers please. And a Fanta. Followed by a large fudge sundae.

Actually just frying my own homemade chickpea&feta burgers so should be okay

Diprobase is great for babies with dry skin too - DD was prescribed it at 1 week old.

BoffinMum · 09/04/2009 20:20

Blimey, it's hard catching up with these threads when you're out of the loop a bit. I see what people mean.

Felix is doing really well now the milk has come in (he had a day of being quite starving whilst working at building up my milk supply). He's really very placid, and even spent time today flirting with his little boy doll we got him, and trying to latch onto it LOL! His second bath was more successful than the first as he only cried at the end. The other DSs have been taking it in turns to bath him with us, which is ever so lovely.

Went to chiro this morning. She was at a conference and missed the birth, so she's a bit sad about that, but pleased to meet Felix and gave me a good long appointment. The SPD is massively better so there's just the underlying lower back problem to treat now. She is also giving Felix a complete postnatal check on Tuesday to make sure everything works properly and he wasn't too scrunched up during the birth.

DH has bought me a really gorgeous pearl pendant to say thank you for his third son, and a box of Neal's Yard goodies for me as well to say sorry for forgetting to order the bottom balm set (he was apparently too busy at work etc etc). I am feeling very spoiled.

Springy, I was disgusted to hear that they had not notified you of the results, as this disease is well known to potentially cause premature labour, and may even have something to do with the problems you have been experiencing. I think a formal complaint would be in order IMO. What were they thinking of???

BB, you can wop any old baby friendly cream on there as long as you avoid the cord area. Sudocrem as suggested is very good, or if you want to buy something Wedela creams work well.

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 09/04/2009 20:27

Boffin - Yay for the chiro, and SPD recovery!!! Bless Felix getting his flirting skills in already (gearing up to be a cassanova already i see) good work!!

so sweet that bathtime is family time, and that his brothers are so involved

ooohh very nice birth gifts from your dh lap it up you deserve it!!

conkertree · 09/04/2009 20:35

so another quiet day on the old baby front? bet there are loads pop over the weekend - will be interesting to see if there is a surge at the full moon like that other thread suggested.

had a lovely lie in this morning - first time for ages. dh away tonight so a superkingsize bed to myself (as long as ds behaves) - hopefully more good sleep.

boffin - sounds like felix has fitted right in at home - great that the boys want to be involved.

springy - for you too - does seem an awful long time to get results back and from what boff says - could have been potentially serious for you and George. does sound like you should complain.

nutty - how has your pain been today?

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 09/04/2009 20:43

Hey Conker, Yay for the lie in and bed to yourself!!

good today thanks alot better than yesterday thank goodness (possibly the worst day i have had, but hey ho )

PuzzleRocks · 09/04/2009 20:56

Boff - You sound like a new woman. That post has cheered me up no end. It's wondeful to hear how it is all worth it in the end.

soon2befamilyof4 · 09/04/2009 20:57

Am eating a big bowl of ice cream to make up for the lack of Mcdonalds! It is soo annoying - McDs is litterally at the end of our road (about 10 houses away and I can view the drive through menu from my bedroom window)! Thats what you get with having kids I guess!

I dont know what to do with DD. She is just not sleeping at the moment and it is wearing us all out. She is down here now with me. She is tired and won't do anything other than watch TV (which I don't really like but it is that or her crying all the evening). But I try and put her up to bed and she just screams the place down and gets herself up. I tried just ignoring her tonight as a last resort but when I went back up she was trying to get out the door and had thrown up everywhere as she had got herself into such a state . And that was only for a few mins!

PuzzleRocks · 09/04/2009 20:57

Boff and BB - Have you indulged in any soft cheeses, pate etc yet?

PuzzleRocks · 09/04/2009 21:00

Soon2be - On the odd occasion that DD does the same, I bring her down for a cuddle but turn all the lights off and put something soothing on for her to watch with me. The Discovery channels usually have something aquatic that we can watch quietly until she nods off again.

lou031205 · 09/04/2009 21:02

I am off to bed shortly, lurking as ever.

I am going in for induction tomorrow at 3pm, so very excited. Can't wait to see my little baby. Hope you all have good labour signs tonight!

PuzzleRocks · 09/04/2009 21:04

Good luck Lou.

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 09/04/2009 21:06

Lou - good luck for tommorow!!!

SpringySponge · 09/04/2009 21:11

I'm back for a bit now

The letter was dated 7th April & was sent First Class. The swabs were taken when I went in on 25th March. I'm unimpressed. I don't understand what took so long.

Thanks for the tip WRT GUM clinic, Ju. I hadn't actually thought of that. I'm hoping not to be sick (I've avoided it so far) but I'm allergic to most antibiotics, so with a 2g dose I'm not holding my breath.

I'll have a jam doughnut please, BB.

Boff, I've read that about potential premature labour - & also low birth weights. Obviously, at this point, it's not too much of a worry. My fundal height measurements have been fine & I'm definitely not going to have a prem baby. But it could well explain why I've been in agony for weeks & I could just sit & sob about it if I let myself.

Everything sounds so lovely with Felix - the big flirt You sound so much happier. It's really, really good to hear xx I'm so pleased about your SPD being so much better - & DH's partial compensation for the last 9 months

SpringySponge · 09/04/2009 21:12

Good luck Lou!

minush · 09/04/2009 21:23

How exciting Lou. Hope it all goes well for you.

Springy, sounds like quite serious negligence to me.

Soon2B I have a McD's at both ends of my road (it is quite a big road, with a train station at top)

My baby seems to be squashing herself into my right side. I am bulging quite dramatically. I don't think her head is anywhere near the exit.

conkertree · 09/04/2009 21:26

good luck with the induction lou - look forward to hearing about another baby arriving.

might have an early night with my book since dh is away. although repeats of dragons den are quite appealing for mindless tv watching.

SpringySponge · 09/04/2009 21:26

Actually, you know what really fucks me off? If the last 7 weeks of shit have been caused by this infection not being picked up, that means that I've missed those extra weeks of uni when I had to be on bedrest. Which is going to cost me a whole extra year of my life & the tuition fees. I know that it's not that bad because I haven't had a premature baby because of it, etc. & I know that it may be unrelated. But just the idea of it makes me really

soon2befamilyof4 · 09/04/2009 21:29

Puzzle - She can't fall asleep on me because I can't keep still for more tha 1 min because of my back ache. My bump is also huge so not much space on my lap for her! IF Dh is here they cuddle up together on the sofa but she very rarely falls asleep unless they are there for hours! She won't watch any calming programs at all. She just gives me the remote to change the channel. LOL. I have just put her up again and she seems to have gone down.

DH has been sleeping on the sofa because of her lack of sleep at the moment. When he is next off (he does shifts) I might get him to sleep in her room with her and deal with her while I have a couple of good nights sleep to catch up. He might sleep in there with her when the baby is born anyway TBH as I want to be able to have baby in the bed and he smokes. He neveer smokes in the house or around the kids but it is still meant to drasticly increase the chance of cot death if baby shares a bed with a smoker, even if they don't smoke inside. He didn't smoke when DD was born but TBH I never liked her being in the bed when he was in there as he was a lot less "aware" of her than I was and I was worried he would hurt her in his sleep so she ended up being on my side, never in the middle, with a bed guard. Very squashed though.

Lou - good luck for tomorrow - It must be nice to know a time and date of when baby is coming! Are you overdue then? Sorry I can't keep up with everybody!
