Aww, BB, those pictures are gorgeous! Well done you and DH! I think Karahan is a lovely name - which syllable does the emphasis go on? What does the naming ceremony involve? Thanks for the pizza (nom nom nom!).

I've been doing a lot of looking at baby names. There are so many girls names which I like, but I'm just not sure with boys names. I really should start writing some down, so can discuss with DH!

Have just been really quite rude, but oddly I don't particularly care. BIL came round to borrow some stuff for going walking in Scotland. DH told me last night that he was coming round, and I got in a bit of a mood due to my not-wanting-to-talk-to-people-ness, let alone cook dinner etc. He then arrived much earlier than I thought he would, moments after DH got home from work, with me still flolopping in my bath robe on the sofa. So I took myself off to bed again and sat and read baby name book. Didn't even say goodbye when he left. Very rude of me, but I just wasn't up for company. Hopefully DH explained that!

bronze · 06/04/2009 18:47

Aww he looks like a Karahan too which is funny as I like you presumably have come round to the name.

BabyBolat · 06/04/2009 18:53

juw - ka is emphasised a rolled r and ha is emphasised so when you say it properly you dont actually link it to the wheeled homes!!!!

The naming thing is like a sung prayer like the ones you hear from the ones at the mosque and then you whisper his name to his ear and then there is a bit of koran reading and then you tell him all your hopes and dreams for him when he is older but it's men only - women aren't allowed in the room - so funny as he not traditional at all but really wanted to do it!!!

Ju, not being rude, normal - you are over-due and stuck at home and quite rightly need to not be bothered by things like that!

Thanks all, he is being particularly adorable today!!! (although he just peed all over DH which made me laugh!!!) although really struggling to wake him up to feed, he is a bit sleepy!

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 06/04/2009 18:58

BB - OMG soooooo cute oohohhh so scrummy!! what a beautiful lil boy! Welcome Karahan aka BBB (it really suits him y'know lol after all the no way-ing too!!) BB again congratulations xxxx ((big squeezes)) , oh you've gone and made me all emotional!!!

MM - oh no, slowed down for you too

Rachel - fingers crossed that its you're turn soon xx

Hola
I have been a busy little beaver again today. I see BB has posted her birth story, I need to get DD bathed and settled and then I am going to kick back and read with a coffee.

No news from Lulu as yet. If I recall, she went overdue with DD.

BoeuffinMum · 06/04/2009 19:27

Def in labour of some kind now
dh filling pool for third time (keeps going cold)
Doing odd moaning things and all fours things
Karahan pix cute, BB remember baby growth charts somewhat racist as only based on white british babies so k's growth rates may be a little different

PuzzleRocks · 06/04/2009 19:28

BB -

What a gorgeous little boy. I love the taking after Mummy pic. Welcome to the world Karahan.
It certainly does sound like a strong name, a future handsome heart surgeon perhaps. The naming ceremony sounds wonderful. Did you get to listen from the next room?

Well done for demanding to be taken to the labour ward. It's definitely a good idea to be assertive in labour.
You must be as tough as old boots BB. Vomiting and nose bleeds on top of the pain! Much respect to you girl.
No uterine contraction. I have never heard anything like it, I don't suppose they told you how common it was? And a failed epidural.

I wish I could have been a fly on the wall when you gave that bloke a dressing down.
I'm glad you had two lovely midwives though.

I'm with you on the pushing. It's good to feel you finally have some control.
You did amazingly. Are you proud of yourself? It's an awesome feeling isn't it?

Yippee for sleeping and feeding well. Long may it continue.

Rock salt in your bath and arnica tablets will help wth your sore stitches.

WELL DONE.
