I have put on 40 pounds so far.

Mumble - Your definitions are hilarious . RAWRR!

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 26/03/2009 21:51

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 26/03/2009 21:58

Morning all - how are we this morning?

Has only taken me a few minutes to catch up - we are being very quiet on this thread!

Happy Due Day WFH!!!

Trista how you feeling this morning?

Kitty - that's fab re HB - all is going in the right direction now girls - just need one person to pop.

Nutty in line with your bet - Springy should be in labour now with the baby coming this afternoon mmmm Buttons egg...

Am so very tired! Yesterday was a bit of a day - work ended up being a bit of a nightmare, popped to the supermarket to get some bread and lunch for my mums visit and the breaks failed on the car [eek] so then spent 2 hours getting the AA out, getting to the garage and getting home. DH is really poorly had chest infection, a head cold and some weird sort of conjunctivitis / swelling thing in his eye and he is having a nightmare at work with one of his colleagues so he is really grumpy and . I was up from 2-5 with period pain and nausea and am very tired and feeling a bit poo today BUT it's FRIDAY so

  1. Last Day of Work - yay (Ginger and B52 too!!!)
  2. It's almost the weekend!!!
  3. It's almost Due Day!!

So I refuse to be grumpy about anything.

I am going to work my tush off between now and 9 and get lots done so that this afternoon I can sit and chill out and just write my handover and get excited about no work!!!

Got to get the car at 10 (I swear if one more thing breaks on that I am going to drive it into the sea!!!)

Morning BB
WFH wasn't on yesterday. I wonder if that's a good sign.

LuLuBai · 27/03/2009 08:02

Morning

Struggling to catch up. Was up in town yesterday, saw midwife and baby deeply engaged. Great stuff. Just has to stay put a couple more days.

Got hair done too and feel much better for it.

BoffinMum · 27/03/2009 08:03

Catching up, but I put it like this re: the cervixes, Auld ... that I had 'friends' (in inverted commas because I do think of you as friends, but obviously there's that wierd internet thing about not having physically met people or know their real names in most cases, and being constantly warned they could be psychopaths or indeed sick men pretending to be pg and cervix owners themselves who did this ), and I personally wondered whether all that fiddling was a good idea. She asked if these 'friends' had had IVF, and said that IVF ladies were taught very assiduously how to examine their cervixes because it was the most clear sign of cyclical fertility there was, apparently. I never knew that. Anyway, then she gave advice on cervix fiddling, i.e. don't fiddle with it more than every few days at this point, and leave the plug up there.

BoffinMum · 27/03/2009 08:09

Ahem - me in urban dictionary:

Intelligent, witty, extremely open, honest & passionate and will do whatever it takes to uphold her morals. While these are extremely admirable traits, they also mean that they should never be crossed. Hope you are paying attention, you have been warned!!

On the flipside, if you do the right thing (and why wouldn?t you?) she will go out of her way to make your life beautiful.
While fiercely independent, she has both a strong sense of community and family and will do whatever it takes (regardless of personal cost) to defend and protect those that she cares about.

Do yourself a favour ? find a xxx; stocks are limited and they are (rightly so) in high demand. Need a friend? Look no further than xxx

So there you have it, guys. Doesn't mention anything about being sexy though, like Puzzle.

LuLuBai · 27/03/2009 08:14

Ha ha -my first name is either someone extremely beautiful or a hot-headed mafia chick who smokes cuban cigars.

Surname starts with another word for fanjo. But I knew that already. It's a bit of a humdinger of an ugly surname (see what I take on for the love of my DH!)

Oh - just had a thought - must run potential baby names through urban dictionary.

BoffinMum · 27/03/2009 08:18

Auld, re: crying/colicky babies. Our NHS hospital, yes the one with the crap treatment for SPD and a suspicion of alternative therapies, is now actually importing a chiropractor/osteopath to run a baby clinic for this, because apparently this has been proven via a Harvard study to have more effect on their condition than anything else, and is a damn sight cheaper than the more medicalised alternatives. Something to bear in mind, perhaps?

LuLuBai · 27/03/2009 08:31

We found the best cure on colicky evenings was for DH to strap her in the sling (not me - boobs too distracting) and take her for a walk. The bodily contact and fresh air usually worked after about 20 mins.

Luckily we are having our babies as evenings grow lighter. Not sure my DH will be around much in the evenings with current workload though. May have to rope in a neighbour .

bronze · 27/03/2009 08:35

My dad is the best cure for colicky babies. I don't know how he does it but he does and he has the patience of a saint with them.

BoffinMum · 27/03/2009 08:39

NHS people, a question:

DH is now supposed to take his BP morning and night for a week or so before seeing the GP again.

He has been resistant to entering the high readings on the chart provided, so I have nagged him into doing this.

So far it is:

Wednesday: Evening 144/92
Thursday: Morning 170/117 Evening 147/89
Friday: Morning 177/130

The question is: How much interfering and nagging as a concerned DW is appropriate given the high readings, particularly this morning's one? I nearly forced him into hospital myself on the basis of previous information.

bronze · 27/03/2009 08:45

Could the nagging put his pressure up?

I so hope they find out why its happenign though, the worrying can't be helping. Catch 22 and all that

bronze · 27/03/2009 08:46

Sorry didnt mean to make it sound like the nagging was bad and you're causing it. In the sense that he needs to know hes readings it needs to be done.
