BoffinMum · 20/03/2009 09:47

Schulte, that's moxibustion and indeed related to acupuncture and reflexology, I think. I have had it and it worked for me, and I am not even all that convinced about them as therapies!!

BoffinMum · 20/03/2009 09:48

Nutty, no more show, no contractions since midnight, all quiet on the western front. Work friend coming around in a bit to spend the day with me.

Juwesm · 20/03/2009 09:51

What's everybody got planned for today? I am BORED, and I don't know what to do to keep myself entertained.

BoffinMum · 20/03/2009 09:52

Academic Moxibustion article

BabyBolat · 20/03/2009 09:54

I am bored too - am doing client reports and just about to start a brief for a financial psychographic analytical tool

Thanks for the advice re cycling, may just treck down there later on foot (tis about half an hour walk each way).

Nutty - LOL I know - she is a bit of a nymph!! How you feeling today post hydro?

BoffinMum · 20/03/2009 09:55

I am seeing my friend from work but I am almost too tired to socialise. Hopefully she will bring lots of good gossip.

PuzzleRocks · 20/03/2009 09:59

Ju - Thanks.

Boff - Moustache area? How very dare you! an indignant Puzzle

BoffinMum · 20/03/2009 10:03

I am saying nothing.

Personally speaking I have a beard and a 'tache, but being fairly blonde by nature they don't show too much.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 20/03/2009 10:03

BB - still not good i really do have to knock the hydro on the head methinks. It seems to set me back too much and for about 2 days.

I'm seeing a friend tonight. but nothing during the day.

Farmers drive Audis now? What happened to 'I've got a brand new combine harvester'?

BB - a bit of financial psychographic analytical tool development sounds like just the thing to keep me occupied!

Juwesm · 20/03/2009 10:12

Plus, there's a bit of Boobz action going on over on the first-time home birth thread, so will in actual fact probably just lurk around on here all day!

Farmers round here are posh.

Kalikaroo · 20/03/2009 10:31

Morning all! Can't believe we're on to a new thread already!

Would it be extremely lazy of me to get a bus into town this afternoon (it's about a 20 minute walk)?? Not sure I can face dragging my enormous achy bump that far, walking round the shops then walking back home up a huge hill...

Got quite sharp pains in my lower bump/bladderish area this morning too - do you think this is just the baby's head getting lower?

Boffin - maybe you could 'accidentally' meet him in disguise? (maybe dress up as a fellow farmer who was just passing...?)

Juwesm · 20/03/2009 10:34

To be fair, I think farmers round here are all quite posh too! And some of them are fairly filthy rich!

Still, a roll in the hay is a roll in the hay whether he droives a combine or an Audi!

Though not suggesting Boff's DD is doing any hay rolling....

SpringySunshine · 20/03/2009 10:34

Auld, I can see why people are so fed up - people are being exploited for absolutely no gratitude. I was interested, as my dad is a fireman & was on strike a few years ago - I think the worst thing about it all, which I'm not sure you get in France because strikes aren't so taboo, was the media coverage - it was all so very unsympathetic & misreported facts. & the scariest bit was that the government not only put spin on things (as we all expect) but tell bare-faced lies. & the public just don't know any better!

I wouldn't guarantee that most people understand those returning to work after 6-7 weeks, though. My dad & his colleagues certainly don't, & if you look at the miners in the UK who were on strike for a whole year 25 years ago, they're still furious with those who returned to work to the point where whole sections of families don't speak to each other even now.

Striking is such a massive issue & causes huge stress for everyone involved - & yet is the last resort. There's no reason why the government shouldn't bend a little on some things (for example I imagine that it would actually be quite easy to solve the French university problems if they tried - you're only after some recognition & additional admin support so far as I can see!) but it becomes a case of point-proving & deliberately crushing the unions for a laugh. It really makes me angry.

Ohhhh, & now I've seen your market. again! I swear you post these things to torture me

Puzzle, at 'a Westbrook'. You know what that'll mean, don't you?

Smutts, I'm not sure why you & BB will each need a cork! I'm not that enticed to break my anal barrier, don't worry

I'm still contracting, but it's calmed down a lot. I got a small amount of sleep, but spent most of the night lying in bed wriggling my toes whispering 'ow' to myself. DH slept through, oblivious, of course

I'm going into town in a little while (need to buy a Mother's day card, for a start I've sorted out presents, but forgot the card!) & expect that that movement will do nothing to ease them, but never mind. I'm trying to convince myself that after all this practice I'm just going to end up with a 2 hour labour when it comes to it. That'd be good.
