Yep or vaseline and aloe vera will help with the stinging. Although I am not expert on razor burns!! Do not scratch or play with it and it should start healing nicely.

it should only sting for 24 hours or so until the skin starts to re-grow and heal over so unless you are in there today giving birth you should be OK in the birthing pool - unless you are having anything scented or perfumed as this will sting like hell (again no expert on razor burns but this is what I would do for wax burns which can be fairly similar) if you haven't pulled any actual skin off (in which case you just need to let it air and scab over!)

I also think it may be the last thing on your mind when you are giving birth but could be a welcome distraction???

BoffinMum · 23/03/2009 08:35

Um, not actually, BB, I think my route is going to be as little pain as possible in all bodily areas. Clearly you are of the school of stamping on your foot to get rid of a headache.

BabyBolat · 23/03/2009 08:39

ha ha - spot on - I really am!

BabyBolat · 23/03/2009 08:40

But then I weirdly quite like pain (hence my previous addiction to pierced body parts!)

PuzzleRocks · 23/03/2009 08:43

Thanks Boff.

Right, I must get my arse into gear and get dressed now.

purplemonkeydishwasher · 23/03/2009 08:45

good morning everyone!

hope you all had a lovely weekend. DH and Ds took very good care of me and I was a happy mommy!

i saw WAS a happy mommy because right now i'm an effin miserable mommy! barely slept at all last night, my pelvis was so painful and now my back is killing me. i've been looking for a pregnancy massage and have found a place right near Dh's office so might book that for this week. is £40 for an hour a good price?

had a lovely day on friday. turned out to be less of a spa 'day' more of a treatment and a swim then out for shopping and dinner but i thoroughly enjoyed it. any time spent in a pool right now is good. it's just getting OUT again that's not so fun!

so i've been offline for 4 days...are there NO babies yet???

BoffinMum · 23/03/2009 08:45

Oh.
My.
God.

That is impressive, Puzzle. If you can do peaks and troughs of posting in terms of time of day we could actually flog that data as it would have commercial value.

Did you do the initial counting up manually????

BoffinMum · 23/03/2009 08:47

£40 a hour is good for a massage, Purple.

If we could go back to the womb ourselves our hips would hurt so much less ...

PuzzleRocks · 23/03/2009 08:51

I used the advanced search function and dropped everything into excel.

purplemonkeydishwasher · 23/03/2009 08:52

not sure our mothers would appreciate it though boff!

bronze · 23/03/2009 09:00

Morning all

Kaz- your babies are gorgeous, the pics made me cry.

Trista- 3 mths early. You wouldn't believe it now to look at her

Boff/Shulte- I think I would just send them in though dds not actually booked in on a tuesday but ds1 is still not good and dds nappies are horrible and explosive still. Will see what things are like later.

Boff. No suggestions just sympathy and maybe get someone else to defur you? COuld try aloe vera I guess

DO you lot not have better things to do with your time? I'm a bit worried I posted so much seeing as I havent been very consistant.

Oh and my news, I had a streak of blood in my discharge this morning (lovely news hehe sure you wanted to know) nothing like any shows I've had before but It's made me think I better try and get back to where I was before everyone got ill and the household fell apart

BabyBolat · 23/03/2009 09:01

Puzzle - step away from the excel document!!! Not only is it scary that you can do it but the results are scary as I am supposed to be keeping up a full-time job and clearly my time is taken posting - Boff stop encouraging her!!!!

Purple your weekend sounds lovely - sorry about the lack of sleep!!

I have just been googling labour and the first signs of labour etc one of which is period pain - what it doesn't say is how long this should last before labour starts - I have been having seriously bad pain for about 6 weeks - surely I should have started now?????

oooh Boff, I'd like a little sleep in the womb!!

BabyBolat · 23/03/2009 09:02

I HAVENT HAD ANY SHOW I want it!!!

Schulte · 23/03/2009 09:02

Morning fellow warriors!

Purple, I pay £35 for my pregnancy massage, also an hour. So £40 sounds reasonable.

Boff, have you got any Bepanthen? I find that works best with grazes. When I have shaved my skin off before it took about a day to stop hurting.

Thanks for the stats, Puzzle, didn't realise I had spent so much time posting . LOL at counting manually though - surely not???

BoffinMum · 23/03/2009 09:07

BB sorry to announce I have just the moment had a whopping load of mucus plug come out. Also got a massive nesting urge. The race is on again. BTW labour has more of a pattern than period pain, and that's how you know.

Schulte, I will go and buy some Bepanthen forthwith!

Puzzle, I think you are a research star!!

bronze · 23/03/2009 09:07

I've decided I want a tummy tub. Then I can run the bath scoop some out with it. Plonk the other three in and wash the baby in the bucket. What with that and a sling I'm going to be on ebay a lot. Anything else you think I should get too?

BB you can have it. As long as you take my stomach too

BoffinMum · 23/03/2009 09:09

I got given a tummy tub and it looks good, I have to say. I have never had a baby bath before - just used those supportive sponge things in the bath for the baby whilst bathing siblings.

Schulte · 23/03/2009 09:09

BB - unfortunately that period pain stage can go on forever... I remember it keeping me awake for weeks last time round. Eventually I had a show, then another one the next morning, then things started kicking off properly. That was 5 days after my due date. Fingers crossed you won't have to wait that long although a few days off work might be nice for you before LO arrives?

So am I the only one who hasn't had anything in the way of cramps, BH, discharge / shows yet? I am pretty pleased not to have to cope with all that stuff yet but you all seem to be gearing up for birth big time This bump here is still very high up and I am sure the LO hasn't even worked out where the exit is, let alone tried to go near it!

bronze · 23/03/2009 09:13

I used to use the basin but our bathrooms tiny so would like to be slightly removed if the others are in the bath. I now know w hy my mum used to wear a big waterproof apron to bathe us.

Shulte all I had was this tiny streak blob thing. I've had so many stomach pains etc I'm not putting any of them down to baby

BabyBolat · 23/03/2009 09:15

Oh bully for you Boff!!! There is no race any more - I am going to be up the back with Nutty watching you all hurdle over the finish line!!!

I want a tummy tub too - amazon do some good deals with free books etc!

BoffinMum · 23/03/2009 09:15

Bronze, another thing we have done in the last is just to put the baby in the bath with DH and get him to do it. They always loved that and it worked so well.

BoffinMum · 23/03/2009 09:16

I have also bathed babies in the kitchen sink. This is brilliant because there is loads of space to lay all the stuff out.

BabyBolat · 23/03/2009 09:17

I know re pattern what I want to know is how much longer I have to put up with period pain with NOTHING happening - but as Schultes said - could be AGES!!

gingersarah · 23/03/2009 09:17

Morning!

BB - our last week at work WOO!

I am seriously wondering about doing some hypno birth stuff, even if it is too late to enrol on a class - Boffin, is there a book or a CD or something that might help?

Glad to hear so many of you had lovely mothers day treats.

BoffinMum · 23/03/2009 09:17

I think it will be all the way to the end now, BB. I have it most of the time, tbh.
