Auld - keep your chin up,darling - it's a horrible situation for you both but you know that the little one will be fine! Your DS will also be OK in the interim - you'll find him a decent school, I know it - and your hubby will get a new, better job worth millions and you'll be decorating your entire house with Amby beds...
Seriously though, we're in the same boat - except that it's ME who's been dismissed (for being pregnant - can you believe it!) so we've also had to tighten our belts a lot. In the long run, it'll work out for the better 'cos I wouldn't have been happy working for that dreadful chauvinistic pig of a boss anyway! Sounds like your DH's boss is the same...

((((((((((AULD))))))))))) massive hugs to you!!!

brettgirl2 · 10/03/2009 11:16

Puzzle - I get more and more amazed by the people on these boards, I mean wtf???

You might not want to work for him any more but could you take him to a tribunal and get a fat payout?

gingersarah · 10/03/2009 11:33

Kittycat, that is definitely not legal - have you done anything about it?

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 10/03/2009 11:34

BB - OMG o'm so glad my dh isnt the only one!! if its not his bum its his blooming elbow!! though i wake up and cry my eyes out cos it hurts (especially the bum in the back) so hes always really apologetic, poor boy, i think he just wants a snuggle subconsiously xx

Scales are evil!! step away from them!!

Frekkles - hooray for orgasms and being loved up

MrsFossil - thanks for the update

Barbarelly - 2 Pink and one blue i guessed right beautiful names

Auld - ((hugs)) xxx your dh's boss is a w*nker

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 10/03/2009 11:38

bronze · 10/03/2009 11:50

thanks puzzle will take them now

KittyCatIsGettingFat · 10/03/2009 11:50

Ginger & Brettgirl - yes, we've been to see a solicitor and we're filing with the tribunal. It's incredibly stressful though and not what you want to be thinking about just before you have your first baby! We should get a date soon - prob mid May, so the little one will be four weeks old... REALLY not looking forward to sitting in a courtroom with that awful man... ah well, so it goes!

nutty - good luck!!!!

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 10/03/2009 11:57

KItty - ((hugs)) how horrible xx

KittyCatIsGettingFat · 10/03/2009 12:11

Yeah Nutty it sucks... BUT if it goes our way we'll be smiling! We'll see...

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 10/03/2009 12:12

Kitty - fingers crossed for you sweety xxx

surprisenumber3 · 10/03/2009 12:13

Hi all - am still here lurking when I can but am spending most of the time lying down (when not running after the boys), because I feel so damn sick all the time, can't even speak to anyone on the phone without heaving..anyone else like this??

Also my bump seems to have shrunk! It is loads smaller than it was before - what is going on?

Seeing midwife tomorrow but am really worried

BabyBolat · 10/03/2009 12:19

Oh Nutty you the elbow too - Sat morning (6.30) got such a jolt in the back thought I was being attacked and then he complained because I woke him up (7.30) because I couldn't get back to sleep!!!! grrr - I love him dearly but is a nightmare!!

Kitty what a nightmare!!!

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 10/03/2009 12:21

Suprise - poor you ((hugs)) have you spoken to your gp or midwife at all?? it may be worth getting an appointment for today if you can, even if its just to put your mind at rest xx

surprisenumber3 · 10/03/2009 12:24

hi Nutty - I really don't think I could go out today, need to try and get to DS2's classroom in a couple of hours to do 'library reading' with him, he'll be really sad if I don't go.

Seeing MW first thing in morning so I'll tell her everything then. Baby still very active etc, my friend said my bump hasn't shrunk, it's just lower, but it looks smaller to me.

Am the exact gestation today which I had DS1 so feel a bit odd today

Love Barb's babies names.

Sorry you're going through so much Kitty

tristaleejac · 10/03/2009 12:25

Hi everyone

Auld - so sorry to hear you are in such a horrible situation at the moment. Can't offer any practical advice, but remember we are all here for support for as long as you need it.
Remember to take little steps, don't think too far ahead into the future, it's easy to get overwhelmed, and you never know what's round the next corner.
Please just focus on yourself and your family. Make sure you all keep together emotionally, supporting each other. If you all keep together, you'll cope with things easier.
Sorry I can't be more help.

BB - could you strap the smooth side of this to your bump to stop your DH using you as a cushion? ha ha
by the way I'm loving the battle between you and WFH as to who will give birth first. The race is on!

juwesm - was it you who was looking at birth vids? This one was on childbirth thread somewhere a couple of weeks ago. not scary No idea what you'll make of it but I found it beautiful.

mrsfossil - thanks for keeping us updated on barbarella's babies. Aren't their names gorgeous!

frosty - you lucky bugger I'm so jealous of your day so far!

springy - would you manage to talk to your sis about what happened, explaining why you felt you had to draw attention to her problems? Might help her see you were only trying to help. Also might just keep the trust there so she can still confide in you if necessary. It must be a tricky time for her. Don't feel bad about what happened, it was totally accidental.
I am really nosy and like to snoop around in bathroom cabinets too. That thread is a hoot. People are outraged. Get a life people ha ha.

Well I'm going to have a bloody great big moan now because I had an awful night last night.
Went to bed super early as I was exhausted after a day of bad diarrhoea. Woke up at 2.30am for a pee and my shoulder was really sore. It very quickly became agony to the point where I was in tears with the pain (not normally such a wimp). I sat in bed and the pain very quickly spread over my chest and back and my nose started bleeding. Mum phoned NHS 24, who called paramedics out. They were lovely, they spent a good hour checking me over, ECG, BP, urine, all the checks. They were pretty baffled as to why I was in so much pain though. Anyway I have protein in my urine so they advised me to get it checked again today. Apart from that there wasn't much they could do or suggest for the pain except try to cope, take paracetamol, try to sleep and if it got worse, to call them back.
After they left it was horrible. I was seriously sore for ages, couldn't get comfy at all. But thankfully the pain gradually died away enough for me to sleep and I woke up this morning with no pain at all.
Still have horrendous diarrhoea, but it's better than the pain.
Sorry to moan about it, but it was so scary and I just felt so bad. The fact that there's a baby inside me while this happens just makes this kind of thing so scary. I'm not being a very good house for it just now

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 10/03/2009 12:25

BB - yup, it is a nightmare, not alot i can do though we used to sleep cuddled up but now he cant really come anywhere near me and has to sleep with his back to me so i think thats part of the problem, when he turns over in his sleep i get elbowed and his bum is like a heat seeking missile thet always ends up against mine or at the base of my back. tis murder.

KittyCatIsGettingFat · 10/03/2009 12:26

Thanks for the support everyone! That's why I love MN... you all UNDERSTAND in such a fabulous way! XXX Love you all...

KittyCatIsGettingFat · 10/03/2009 12:28

My word Trista that sounds terrible!!! Are you OK? Have you seen the doc today?

BabyBolat · 10/03/2009 12:28

surprise - think it would be worth just putting your mind at rest!

surprisenumber3 · 10/03/2009 12:30

Trist - that sounds awful, how scary for you you take it easy today, have a good rest. You are the best house there is for your baby I have had pain in my shoulder at night but nothing to the extent of yours, hope it doesn't happen again.

Nutty - my DH has started snoring which coupled with my pregnancy insomnia is driving me mad! He bought a watch type thing yesterday which gives him an electric shock if he snores over a certain amount of decibels more than 3 times

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 10/03/2009 12:30

Trista - ooohhh haow scary for you xx ((hugs)) i'm sure your'e being a fabulous baby house i think the baby may just be rearranging the furniture and tugging on a few nerves to give you so much pain xx when is your next MW appointment? it's definately a good idea to get them to keep an eye on the protein xx

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 10/03/2009 12:32

Suprise - lol at your dh being shocked through the night

AuldAlliance · 10/03/2009 12:35

Kitty, that is outrageous. Hope you manage to get things to work out your way.
Trista and Surprise, I am so sorry you're both feeling so rough.

Thanks to everyone for all your kind words; I know it's not the end of the world, but my raging hormones aren't helping me to deal with this very rationally or to get things into perspective.

Boffin, I've replied to your Uni address (received an automatic reply and am very of your ML; mine ends on June 22nd, probably just in time for exam board meetings and timetabling duties).

Off to try some therapeutic housework remedies as viewers coming later.

brettgirl2 · 10/03/2009 12:36

I have to confess that the pg insomnia and the effort of turning over has led to DH sleeping in the spare room. The problem I have is that I worry about keeping him awake, so it makes my sleeping worse. It's awful though, because I just feel knackered all the time. I am waking up at about 3am every night and I never go back to sleep until about 5.30. That, plus the additional toilet trip at around 1am. If we try to sleep in the same bed, I just get cross with him for sleeping and he gets cross with me for waking him up. I think we need a larger bedroom with a bigger bed!!!!

tristaleejac · 10/03/2009 12:37

Haven't seen doc yet am hopefully going to manage down later with a pee sample to get it tested. If not I'll make an appointment for tomorrow.
It wasn't so much the pain alone as the combination of pain and nose bleed. I don't think I've had a nose bleed since I was about 9. Got a bit freaked out.
