Typical, DH wants us to go to bed now - in the middle of Springy's labour! I'll have to catch up in the morning. Night, night and good luck, Springy!

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 28/02/2009 22:11

Springy says - If its what i think you mean which i'm not 100% sure on because i cant see it properly, it spikes to about 45. No idea what that actually means his heartrate varies between 130 during to 180. my resting rate without contraction was 108

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 28/02/2009 22:14

Actually.. there are a few that go up to 60+. But i cant see properly and am having to get dh to look and he's being a bit useless

LOL! There are definite contractions going on then. I don't know how they decide if labour is progressing based on the CTG though. I can't believe that I have to go to bed now [sulky emoticon]

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 28/02/2009 22:21

lol this is very strange but so very exciting

night swaliswan xx

The next thing they do is see whether the cervix is effacing and dilating, and whether it is high or low.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 28/02/2009 22:27

she hasnt been seen yet just left on the monitor as nobody is around apparently. the numbers up to 100 are getting higher as time passes.

OP posts:
SmuttyNuttyTaff · 28/02/2009 22:28

this is definately not bh is it???

OP posts:
BoffinMum · 28/02/2009 22:35

It entirely depends on the cervix but I would get my pants off if it was me LOL

BoffinMum · 28/02/2009 22:37

If she's in pain, and as 34 weeks seems to be a suitable date for doctors allowing you to continue with labour, remind her to get as upright and active as she can, perhaps on the pretext of going to the loo and having a little potter along the corridor. She doesn't actually have to be strapped to that thing all night if she doesn't want to be.

It would probably be easier for me to drive up there and doula her!!!

BoffinMum · 28/02/2009 22:38

I have to say I have no clue what those numbers mean apart from I know the baby's heartbeat sounds normal from what she is saying.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 28/02/2009 22:39

Boffin - what you waiting for!! get in the boff mobile

OP posts:
BoffinMum · 28/02/2009 22:40

It would probably set me off in labour too, I am having that many BHs!!!!

BoffinMum · 28/02/2009 22:41

We could have a double birthing experience! A MN first! Then whizz down to Barb's and help with the bf rotas.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 28/02/2009 22:44

Springy - I KNEW Boff would just be trying to get my pants off! Theres always been a spark there, i just didnt like to say & seriously i cant have a baby! what do you do with a baby? i knew i was pregnant but didnt quite grasp the getting a baby thing ARGGG!

OP posts:
BoffinMum · 28/02/2009 22:45

Tell her she's not hairy enough for me. And it's a shock when the grown ups all leave after the birth, and you find you're left in charge of a baby, without any kind of lessons or driving test or anything.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 28/02/2009 22:50

ah but she has 50 online mummy's to help see her through

OP posts:
BoffinMum · 28/02/2009 22:51

It's funny to think a week ago she was on her honeymoon.

Thank goodness this didn't happen then!!

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 28/02/2009 22:59

tell me about it!! would make for an interesting story though

ooohhh another txt hang on....

Clearly if this is labour her DH has been a very effective induction tool. If he is not too tired, I wonder if he might be available on loan?

Actually my DH has faithfully promised to shag me senseless from 37 weeks because he is feeling so bad at what I am having to go through. He has also promised to paint the bathroom tomorrow (a kind of cream colour called Angel Light) and put up the heated towel rail (£75 special offer damaged box from B and Q).

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 28/02/2009 23:07

Springy - I'm going to press the special stewardessbutton & make bitchy mw come back if nobody comes by 11. its ridiculous how in the dark they are leaving us, i'll be full term by the time they bother checking my cervix, i want to know if this is going anywhere or if its just pointless pain.

I wont unstrap myself yet at the mw will kill me. she already gave me a lecture on how i shouldn't have had sex & my baby's at major risk because i dared have said nookie. Seriously the womans evil. Fortunately i know better.

Nutty back - wanna go up there with pitchforks boff???

OP posts:
BoffinMum · 28/02/2009 23:08

BTW I also have bought some nice cream curtains and a wooden curtain rail to match the loo seat, the idea being that the more soft furnishings we have in there, the more the sound of weeing will be muffled.

BoffinMum · 28/02/2009 23:10

Tell her sex is normal in pg unless your doctor tells you otherwise (like Barb). Tell her some mw are total bullies and just to stand up to her. It would be a good idea to go to the loo once an hour and empty her bladder if this is the real thing.

BoffinMum · 28/02/2009 23:11

I think the pitchforks are a good idea. Sadly she has ended up having an NHS Saturday night special. Not great for a first baby IMO.

BoffinMum · 28/02/2009 23:13

mw can't tell her off for going for a wee!!
