Here ya go, new thread! We're almost there!!!!!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Tee2072 · 17/03/2009 20:25

laura did he refer you to an antenatal physiotherapist? There is a lot they can do for you. If GP hasn't, call your MW, they should be able to refer you right quick.

OP posts:
lauraloo09 · 17/03/2009 20:28

tee he didn't refer me as I have a midwife appointment on friday and he said the referral would be best coming from the midwife How are you feeling now? hope your better

MrsMcJnr · 17/03/2009 20:44

Ermintrude ? I can assure you I am double the size of the woman modelling the dress too

Laura ? naughty girl for going to work, perhaps aquanatal is not what you need at the mo with all those pains? Glad you saw the dr, I can see you finishing work early you know, you can?t go on like this.

Insy ? I am , would love a home birth. Hope the boys continue to sleep through for you Think ?Xisca? would be pronounced ?Jisca? here ? not up there for me have to say! My DS gets hand me down Mini Boden from my 2 nephews plus he has quite a lot of his own, I think they are great.

Naat ? hope your teeth feel nice and clean we have the whole ?name must make sense and be able to be said in two languages? thing going on too I can?t remember where I saw them now but I read the top 10 names for a whole range of Spanish speaking countries for inspiration ? sadly it didn?t help me much. I quite like ?Luna? after the Goddess of the Moon but the Boss doesn?t

Tee ? hope you?ve enjoyed the holiday glad to hear you feel a bit better too.

Bunnymother ? glad to hear all went well with the MW and I hope you enjoyed your cousin?s visit Love Milo by the way, haven?t had any for ages the galaxy was good although my Mum could only get a pack of 10 small bars (4 bits in each ? bah!) I know what you mean about wanting to have 2 names just in case; we just have the one at the mo too.

June ? take it easy you, sounds like you are doing too much. Hope the GTT goes well and that it is not as much of a chore as mine was. Do they do 4 blood tests over 4 hours in the UK too?? I had a thing about my waters breaking with DS, I had a bin liner under my sheet from 35 weeks and another in the car, I needn?t of worried, they only went when I walked into the labour suite I can understand why you might want another scan, have you considered a private one for peace of mind? I know what you mean about people touching your tummy, I feel like telling them to stop stroking my lunch!

Bigcar ? sorry if I have forgotten something but how come you can?t have a HB this time hon?

Daisy ? what lovely photos, what a talented lady I?ve thought about your questions now . I would want my bump covered for photos due to the bruising, slightly side on, standing I think. I like the side angle best. I stroke my bump when my baby kicks and I do rest my hands on it too (normally to make her move). I think what I would most like to capture is the excitement and happiness of being pregnant and waiting expectantly for the baby to arrive so I think I?d want to see the expression on my face as well as the size and shape of the bump. I think the message would have to say ?full to capacity? I really liked Demi Moore?s photos.

Littlesarah ? congrats on your last day of work! I remember us talking about you finishing in March ages ago and now we are here, wow! Don?t forget about Elemental Birth, they do a day course for ladies and partners and DH found it valuable.

Dreamy ? poor you with the heartburn and the worms ? uggh

Did I mention that DH is particularly chuffed because our baby is due on Angelina Jolie?s birthday?

lauraloo09 · 17/03/2009 20:51

mrsmcjnr think I'll be absent from aquanatal for a few weeks. I finish work on 6th May for holidays before maternity starts so here's hoping I can hold off until then

Glad you survived your ordeal with the gtt the other day got to agree too with demi moores photo loved that too x

Re home births I would love a HB but DH is dead against it just thought it would have been nice to be in the comfort of my own home

Tee2072 · 17/03/2009 20:51

mrsMcJ you mean you didn't plan it so the baby would be born on her birthday?

I was feeling better earlier, but now the baby is totally pushing forward and I am really uncomfortable. And getting kicked way below the belly button, if you get my drift!

littlesarah I'm so that you're done with work. I have the rest of this week off and then I'm back until middle of May. If I make it that far.

dreamy lots of sympathy. Hope you feel better soon!

Hope everyone else had a good day!

Naat · 17/03/2009 22:02

Bunny, Amelie sounds lovely. at your DH being so fixated with it. I know you will be able to persuade him to look at some others . Oh, and get right on the campaign for the soft massage... it?s fab!

Ineed, glad to hear work is almost over! Also glad to hear your FIL is better. Re. Psychedelic dreams: I?m on that track as well lately... weird things!!! I wake up completely lost trying to make sense of the most absurd things haha

Ermin, I liked the short versions of Matilda I?ll have the chat with DH again and see if we can improve our name situation

June, good luck at GTT tomorrow. Keep us posted. Don?t worry about the ?baby mode?, our DHs are used to it by now Hope you managed to arrange things for the bookkeeper.

Dreamy hope you feel better soon

lauraloo, glad to hear about your week off work, I agree with Tee, talk to MW to arrange some physio or something... That might help and get rid of your pain... you don?t deserve to be suffering day in and day out with that...

MrsMc, yep, clean teeth for me Gums hurt less now, fortunately. Luna sounds nice, DH didn?t like it
at the ?full to capacity? phrase hahahaha. Your MIL is getting the pushchair on Thu, right? I imagine your excitement!

DH had a veeeeeeeery long day today at the office, he couldn?t even go to uni... and now he?s at home and working again after dinner, poor soul Off to bed soon, I hope...

I hope I haven?t forgotten anyone... Have calm and relaxing nights, ladies! (waves)

insywinsyspider · 18/03/2009 09:04

june hope gtt goes well today, at least you remembered in time!

ineedmore I spoke too soon, up for 2 hrs with ds1 last night he was so over tied but couldn?t let go and go to sleep, I feel like death warmed up and now slightly sick at the v strong coffee I?ve just had

dreamy I did bump cast last time ? will be interesting to see if I?m much bigger this time, although it is just lying on top of the wardrobe and not sure what to go with it now! Sorry to hear you?re not v well, hope it clears up soon

mrsmj yes feel very lucky to be having (well aiming to have) a hb again, not so much that its at home just that I get to pick my fav place to give birth if that makes sense

daisy I?ve had a look at photos now, in answer to some of your questions, I?d go for black and white as I think its more flattering for evening out skin colour ? top tip from a friend was to have black and white photos done of me and babe after birth and they are lovely, ds?s don?t look all red and angry I?d like a shot that included my face but not me looking at camera maybe just sitting cross legged arms round bump and gazing at it, not sure bout humorous ones, like idea of cup of tea resting on it or I have a photo of me dh took when I was huge folding baby clothes and laying tiny baby grows over my belly to do it, its really cute, to be honest I?d just like some nice ones done of me with bump covered too ? you an get some v humorous t-shirts, I saw one when preg with ds1 I wish I?d bought it was picture of hot bun in oven

littlesarah thanks about book, and me too I?m also bout you finishing work, I?m here till mid may too tee only 8 wks after this one! (and counting)

bunny at dh being fixated by Amelie ? dh feels like we have enough names on list and should just pick from them rather than keep looking, I can?t help feeling their might be a great name out there? ds1?s name I loved and only had one boys name, ds2?s name dh chose as he veto?d my other choices and for months I hated it I have to agree it really suits him now, both are v popular tho, ds2 is one of 3 in his baby room at nursery

chocciedooby · 18/03/2009 10:17

Hi everyone.
I'm 27 weeks today I keep being reminded that once we all reach 30 weeks it will fly by.

Had a great weekend here. DH took Monday off to help me at home with the boys and he took them off for the whole morning which was fab. I managed to catch up on some much needed rest and sleep.

Then it was St.Patricks Day yesterday so we took the boys to a local parade. it was a lovely warm and sunny day and the kids had a ball. Just sorry the weekend is over now and shame to see DH go back to work. Wow, after all of my moaning the last few weeks he is like a new man We had a chat about our feelings and that we need to try to be more supportive towards each other. Lets hope it works!

Lauraloo - sounds like you are experiencing similar pelvic pains to me. I have been wearing my pelvic belt now since last Thursday but still getting used to it. It does help a little but I still can't stand for long. I have been getting shooting pubis pains as well. My physio told me to hold off the aqua natal as it could hinder it.

Dreamy poor you Thats a nightmare and sooo uncomfortable. Are there not some natural remedies you could try?

Daisy - so sorry about this. You are probably going to really dislike me for posting this but am I the only one that doesn't really like the look of the bare pregnant tummy?! I love stroking and massaging my bump and rubbing in oils etc but I really wouldn't enjoy having it photographed. I just find it all a bit urrggg.so sorry but I am obviously in the minority and just wanted to be honest. I do however think that your ideas are fab for those that do want to cherish and remember their bare bumps forever.(please don't hate me).

Names - well we have a couple for a boy but cannot decide on any girls names. Finding it a real struggle to agree. Maybe we are destined to have another boy!

bunnymother · 18/03/2009 11:01

Morning lovely Juners!

Hope you had great evenings. I made roast lamb w vegies (yum), then read w DH until (an hour or so later ) I dozed off. Am officially an OAP!!

June - glad you got your Angelcare, and hope your Tommee Tippee set arrives soon. Mine came last night - very exciting! I now have baby kit! Have had clothes for a while but no other kit. Will order that when we move to our new place - only 2 weeks to go!! Good luck w your GTT today!

Dreamy - bad news about the worms!! No "lentil weaver" remedy you could try?

MrsMcJnr - I also wanted to name our baby girl after the moon goddess, so was thinking about Diana (really love the name but was sure people would think it was in honour of the late Princess of Wales, so have avoided it). Another option is Artemis, perhaps? I hear you on worries about the waters breaking - I am getting a waterproof mattress protector for our new mattress.

Naat - DH said he isn't really planning on thinking about names until his contract finishes at end of April. Only his contracts always get renewed so we may be deciding on the way to the hospital! . In which case, we should save time and use one of my preferred names . Ooh, very organised to have been to the dentist! Note to self: get to dentist.

Ermintrude - would not be suprised if DH has very "fond" memories of the actress in the film - Audrey Tatou is v charming. But that better not be why he wants the name! Agree that we need lots of options!

Lauraloo - so sorry to hear that you are still in such pain . Hope the week off helps, and your work will have to deal with it. This is not a feigned illness, it sounds like you are really having a difficult time.

Insy - am also afraid of missing the perfect name, although v cheered to hear that even if you aren't convinced of the name initially, you can become so!

choccie - agree wholeheartedly at how much better things are w our other halves if we support each other. And no judgment re your views re bare bumps!

Tee - hope you feel more comfortable soon!

Sorry if this was a bit "me me me"

ermintrude13 · 18/03/2009 11:20

choccie you're one day behind me but I thought I wasn't 27 wks till tomorrow - thank you for moving me on a bit . I hope time does fly after 30 wks, it did both last times but then I was going in to work every day until 3 wks before due date so was extremely busy - now I'm freelance I'm a bit of a slacker and so the time is draaaaaging a bit.

dreamy bad luck about the worms , that's the trouble with hanging about with children.

insy hope that coffee kicks in and that you don't have too busy a day. One advantage of a 6 yr age gap is not having to get up in the night when pregnant, I don't think I could cope - am tired enough just getting up to wee.

I agree that b&w photos are ideal - certainly more flattering.

choccie i think it was the Daily Mail website () that had pics of the pregnant belly of that crazy octuplet mum a few weeks ago. check them out and believe me, you'll think your bump is the most beautiful sight in the world . I often find mine quite comical; the moments of finding it lovely are rare but they do happen.

I'm off out to lunch soon with another local writer. He's very nice but extremely quiet so I'm planning on eating a lot instead of bothering to make polite conversation

Tee2072 · 18/03/2009 11:25

Morning all.

Yikes, nearly afternoon!

Had another crap night after being woken by a nightmare and then heartburn. So glad I am still off work.

I'm having an early lunch and then back to bed! I'll try to catch up later.

OP posts:
lauraloo09 · 18/03/2009 11:34

morning all

hope everyone is well
it feels weird posting on here from my bed but I aint complaining

Surprisingly I got a good nights sleep, the support pillow I have helped a lot. Thanks for your kind wishes everyone, greatly appreciated

bunny i feel the same about feeling like an OAP, kinda embarrassing when my gran (who stays across the street from me) laughs when I say I go to bed really early

choccie congrats on being 27 weeks, not 27 until saturday, and I hope once we are passed the 30 week stage it will fly in

dreamy sorry to hear you have worms, must not be easy dealing with it when your pregnant. My niece and nephews keep getting worms and nothing my brother or SIL do keeps them away.

june hope the gtt goes well for you x

tee i hope your feeling better x

i know I keep missing posts but a big HELLO to everyone else

Naat · 18/03/2009 11:59

Morning ladies!

Lazy morning for me . I woke up as usual with DH at 7.30, made his lunch, ironed his shirt and made his breakfast to take with him but couldn't help going back to bed when he left at 8... So I took my laptop and my hypnob book so as to "be productive" hahaha

I read the news then read a bit of the book, and had the brilliant idea of listening to the hypnob cd . Of course I went away and never came back hahaha. I "woke up" at 10.50am when my phone beeped because of an email and decided to get up as the day outside is just TOO lovely I might go for a walk later on to take in some sunshine

Insy, fingers crossed for your DS to go back to his full night's sleep

Choccie, you had such a lovely end of the week-end/beginning of the week yesterday with DH and DC...

Bunny, I guess our DHs are "in-sync" with the name decision-making Oh, and your reading-then-bed routine is great! We do that all the time , yeah, we're oldddddddd in heart hahaha

Hi Ermin, hope you enjoy your lunch
Great to know you can enjoy it and not worry about small talk

Tee, hope you feel better soon, rest a lot, it's your week off

Lauraloo, glad to hear you had a good sleep despite your pain yesterday...

June good luck today

Waves to all the ladies!

Naat · 18/03/2009 12:00

Grrrr, "at heart", not "in heart"

insywinsyspider · 18/03/2009 12:19

naat at getting more sleep my own fault for having babies so close together!

chocie do you have a preference either way, boy or girl? I have admit (and only on here and to dh) I'm hoping for a girl, I don'tthink I want another baby but would be sad never to have a dd... (to goes without saying whatever we get is a blessing but I have to be honest I do have a preference)

bunny not so much I was unsure of his name I hated it for a while problem was we couldn't decide and dh didn't wantto introduce ds2 without a name so we agree to 'try it out' for a while, day after he was born mil came round and asked if it was a nickname and said 'obviously you'll be christening him by full version' errr no and then started suggesting names, like the whole time she was there it was 'daniel's a nice name have you considered that?' etc etc, even suggesting fil's name so I'm afraid I was just bloody minded then and next day took him to registry office and registered his name ended up changing his middle name when he was christened (if you do it before they are 1yr it is a legal deed poll and they will reissue birth certs) luckerly dh was right it is a lovely name

my day has got better, taken Jaguar XF for test drive, advantage for working for company as obviously it was for benchmarking off to catch some more sun now!

chocciedooby · 18/03/2009 12:37

Thanks Bunnymother for not judging.

Ermintrude - I saw that picture in the papera of the Octuplet mum. I found it absolutely gross tbh and yes it probably has made me feeling a bit better about my bump now that I think of it. I do prefer mine covered up though and I hardly have any stretch marks (just teeny weeny ones from b4 that can hardly be seen).Enjoy your lunch

Insy - If I am completely honest and I had a choice I would say " yes, I'd love a girl please"! But as you say, hopefully we will all be blessed to have healthy babies no matter what sex they are.
I am very curious about girls...how different they would be etc and I do always get tempted to browse the girls clothes in shops . I will be sad to not have any girls but I know that this will be my last baby. I simply don't want to go again now. Feel too old and wrecked to do it all again

chocciedooby · 18/03/2009 12:37

Hi to everyone else and sorry if I keep forgetting you. Enjoy the sunny weather

insywinsyspider · 18/03/2009 14:02

choccie guess you didn't find out at the scan what you were having then? I didn't with other two and decided not too with this one but now regretting not knowing, its only 12 wks till find out but seems like long time!
I'm curious about girls too, my boys are a handful, great fun and mostly very well behaved but very energetic, everyone tells me how diff girls are except my mum who says I was just like ds2 and always climbing and getting in a scrape, I guess it would just be lovely to have that balance and find out...

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 18/03/2009 17:36

Hello all!

Had a lovely surprise when my brother (who has recently been made redundant ) phoned to ask what I was doing for lunch and did I want company? Had a lovely afternoon at the park with DS who adores his uncle and I lounged in the sun on a bench while he ran round after DS.... bliss!

DS's blood test this morning was a bit of a mare. I'd got myself so wound up by putting the cream on 45 mins before and putting that funny patch on his arm that I forgot all the paperwork! AAAGH! . They couldn't do the test without it as it had the doctor's signature on it, and were asking me to re-book for another day. I promptly burst into embarrassing, snotty, gulping tears..... WTF?! They were all so lovely (they were giving me hugs and tea and tissues and everything!) - they held open his slot while I dashed home (I use the verb 'dashed' ironically as obviously I am walking like John Wayne with the SPD). Anyway, 20 mins later and paperwork in hand, they took his blood. It was very quick and painless (he didn't even flinch) and they were great at distracting him. What is it with these hormones? It was the same in M&S that time.... grr....

Anyway, time for a catch up. I'll read through and post in a sec. Hope you are all well....

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 18/03/2009 17:53

Lauraloo - Sounds like you have quite chronic SPD. You need to ask for an emergency referral to the physio (if you haven?t already). It really makes a difference, and they?ll be able to give you advice on how to minimise movement and may even recommend a belt. Hope you start to feel better soon x

MrsMc - at your DH being excited that the baby is due on Angelina?s birthday!

Tee - Hope you are feeling a bit better today and that you get a better night?s sleep...

insy - sorry to hear about your crap night?s sleep. DS was awake at 5 am, even tho? his room is blacked out. I got into bed with him in the end, but ended up laying awake with him ?til 6 when it was getting ridiculous and just got up with him. I?m hoping there won?t be a repeat performance tomorrow morning. I hope you get a better night?s sleep. I know what you mean about secretly wanting a girl. I know if this DC had been a girl, DH and I would have probably stopped at two. I think we?ll probably go for a third, even tho? it?s as likely to be another boy. It makes me feel a bit to think I might never have a daughter. I?m now really thrilled to be having another boy as I think it?s so cute having brothers who can play together. DH wants to stop at two, though he?s said he?s happy to have a third if I want to.

choccie - your weekend sounds lovely. How nice to get some much-needed rest...

Naat - at your lazy morning! How lovely...

DH went into see FIL last night and he seems really well. MIL phoned this morning and apparently he went on a little walk around the ward today. He has the constitution of an ox, so I'm hoping DS and this little one have inherited those genes!!

I'm sure I've missed people. Hope you are all well . I'm off to 'dunk your bumps' (the one with the instructor who said 'you're only pregnant'.... we'll see if she's any better!

SweetBROODY · 18/03/2009 18:13

Happy Birthday Mums!

Looouise lol insteresting question! About ?self manipulation? lol made me giggle...

June I?m so glad about the tickets!
Tee sometimes the nausea can be related to high ketones ? you might not be eating enough? Its Diabetes related... I had it when I hit 25 weeks and now try to eat regularly?.

Been a busy one for me.. trying to get all my leave sorted and work has been hectic.. will come back and post properly just wanted to say a big hello to everyone!

lauraloo09 · 18/03/2009 19:58

quick question before I catch up.

Wasn't in my house this afternoon as picking up prescription went to my mums to sit for a while. I came home to find a message left from my boss at work asking me to call her. now I know work shouldn't be phoning while I am on sick leave esp after telling them exactly what I was off with. I am angry over this and now worried sick that they are mad with me. Am I worrying over nothing?

loooouise · 18/03/2009 20:07

Hey Daisy I did your wee photography questionaire.
Who does your cousin work for? Small Arms Survey or UNIDIR by any chance?

Bunny if you're thinking Amelia, check out the Joni Mitchell song called Amelia from her Herija album, it's a beautiful song about about a woman finding herself on the road, really inspiring. it's a great song to share a name with!

June I did have to have a full bladder for my 4d on Friday.

Here you go Daisy :

How would you like your bump photographed?

From above, with me looking up at camera (classic flattering angle!) and from the side

Which angle are you most proud of?

The sides, I guess, as you can see it better.

What do you find yourself doing, patting it, cuddling it, resting your hands on it?

All of it, I also massage it gently and tap out rhythms due to my longing for musical child!

If you were to have a photo of your bump, and in a few years time looking back, what do you think you would most love to have captured (a) the sheer size of it (b) the beauty of the shape (c) your silhouette (d) anything else?

All three options. I'd love to have professional photos taken and then look back at this moment. I have asked a male friend who is a photographer, but his girlfriend barred him, saying that he would be too turned on!!

Would you like your face in it or prefer the bump alone?

Face. Otherwise the bump could belong to anyone

What about humorous photos - if I were to put a message on your tummy (or across your forehead etc), what would it say?

My friend James wrote "WE love you Ellie" in my deepest red lipstick on my bump just the other day. It was for my darling friend's birthday. She has lung and brain cancer and is too poorly for visitors now. I guess those photographs will always be very poignant for me.

What images have you seen of pregnancy that you really liked?

I like ones that are quite artistic, not at all smoochy ie make the woman look amazing and powerful and not some soppy 1950s baby vessel (a la cover of the otherwise excellent 'What to Expect When You're Expecting' book)

loooouise · 18/03/2009 20:12

Lauraloo please do not worry about this - my boss does this ALL THE TIME because she is work obsessed. I have taught myself to ignore it and you must too. It's the evening now, and you won't sleep if you're fretting about it.
please please please please please don't worry. They were probably just checking to see if you were ok.

Naat · 18/03/2009 20:17

Hi Laura,

I don't think they're mad, or at least they shouldn't, no reason to be. I wouldn't worry if I were you, they're not supposed to call you, as you say. If you're worried they might think you're "hanging out" instead of recovering, I wouldn't worry either as you could have easily have a doc's appt, or a physio one... you were at your mum's, it's not like you're in Ibiza sunbathing.

Call them back tomorrow to know what they want, I guess, but don't feel guilty or bad or worried at all, hon, you've done nothing wrong I'm sure more ladies will come with more advice

I'll catch up later, just didn't want to leave this unanswered
