Thanks for bringing me up to scratch with what a GTT is. They don't do those over here so I guess we just wing it

Glad you had good results Doris.

Tee2072 · 13/03/2009 20:25

Are any of you watching Comic Relief? I'm a puddle over here!

OP posts:
chocciedooby · 13/03/2009 20:26

Keep those well earned tickets for yourselves June. No way would I be handing them over. Such a lovely idea to surprise your bother with 1 as well and if you did hand 2 tickets over to IL's you would just resent them for it in the end.

chocciedooby · 13/03/2009 20:26

Hi Tee. Not yet and still have to get DS1 to bed. DS2 asleep
DH gone off to collect Chinese

DorisIsAPinkDragon · 13/03/2009 20:33

Tee I managed the first 5 minutes and then Lenny Henry went to Africa, so switched over as DD2 was quite concerned to see mummy in floods...

Hence now on MN as there's nothing else worth watching!!

V jealous of your chinese choccie ummmmm mouth is now watering maybe I just go and raid the kitchen...

highrise · 13/03/2009 20:46

Hi ladies, thanks for the messages, will just bide my time until kicks start to move up, so difficult to know what's 'normal' esp when it's your first!! Guess as long as baby is kicking lots, shouldn't worry about whether they're above or below my bb!

Have a good weekend everyone.

LittleSarah · 13/03/2009 21:04

Phew, it's a good thing I'm nearly finished with work (last day on Tuesday!), I might be able to keep up with the thread. Yeah, blinking right.

Tee - Just switched on Comic Relief so no doubt I'll be crying soon.

June - Well done you getting up and getting those tickets! And I agree your in-laws should feck right off, if you want to give your ticket to your brother then you should.

MrsMcJnr - Hope you manage to find someone to look after ds, what a pain that is!

Doris - Congrats on your results!

Ermintrude - With you on the pain, although I might have needed more pain relief had my labour been longer! Sounds like you have had a lovely day.

My day has been pretty good, in a productive way... but knackered now of course, did work at work as well as finishing the first draft of my encouraging reading article (thanks again Michael!)

Pregnancy wise, I've a doc's appointment on Monday, need to pick up a safe to fly form as me dh are going to Ireland in a week.

Loads of movement and now it is all about watching it. Honestly I go to bed and me and dh have a very amusing time watching my crazily rippling tummy...

Getting cramp quite a lot, like now, argh...

June2009 · 13/03/2009 21:25

Thanks for all your messages, I was instantly better after venting here and glad to see I'm not being unreasonable.

They both called their dad who called us to see what was going on and told us not to give in when we explained what really happened! I think he's a bit at their behaviour tbh.

sweet I totally agree about the responsability thing, bil apparently spent the entire day cursing about us instead of blaming himself for not getting up.

Anyway, went for a drive in the new car and it's lovely, put a big smile on my face .

Half considering putting crying comic relief on, will see how I get on!

Great news Doris! highrise my baby's kicks are generally lower than the belly button, I think I only ever had a couple above. The midwife said the baby is still small enough to be moving around so not to worry where it is right now.
28 weeks on Sunday :D

ermintrude13 · 13/03/2009 21:34

Well I've bowed out of watching Comic Relief momentarily because of the warning Jonathan Ross gave about the film which was about to come on - so am going to donate online now which will make me feel less of a wimp! Although like Tee I've already blubbed plenty. My DC watched the first part and said they wanted to give some money - DH told them how much pocket money he owed them (several weeks) and asked how much they wanted to give and they both said 'all of it' without hesitation. . They don't need anything so it's not a huge sacrifice, but it's nice to see the instinct is there.

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 13/03/2009 22:09

Hello all! In floods over Comic Relief... all the films with kids dying... I can't bear it. I have just donated too "ermintrude*. At least DH isnt here to see me in all my snotty glory! He's far worse than me tho', he's always in floods at those clips! Bless...

I think I'm off to bed. Might go in and snuggle up to DS for a bit. Makes me feel incredibly lucky to have him here and healthy. I don't know how those parents cope with losing their little ones.....

Love to you all x

MrsMcJnr · 13/03/2009 22:17

DH and I are both in floods here too we are all covered in mozie bites at the mo and the horror of Africa is just unbearable

Tee2072 · 14/03/2009 07:18

Morning all.

Well, after blubbering about Comic Relief, had a craps night sleep. Woke up about 2 for my loo run, never really got back to sleep. Did manage to choke down some gaviscon, but still had some heartburn. Its not the taste of that stuff, honestly, the mint isn't too bad. Its the texture. Does it have to be so thick?!?!?

OP posts:
tibsy · 14/03/2009 08:29

morning tee sorry about your crap night and blardy heartburn

hope everyone else feeling mre rested. i woke at about 2ish too and couldnt settle for a while. contemplated getting on the computer/reading/knitting, but thought it would just wake me up further....off to town later to get some pregnacare and omega3 to try and give myself a bit of a boost

well, i tried to make my way through the epic novels, but wasnt entirely successful
just wanted to say..

ineed you made me smile with ypur 'boob to bum in tubigrip', but glad it seems to be offering some support as well as comedy value!!

ermin i was salivating at your grilled sausage and onion marmalade sandwich, delish!! glad you had a lovely time and bless your dc and their pocker money donation

june and on your behalf re il's, they sound very childish, esp for calling their daddy, how old again??? a big for your new car tho

doris for your good GTT results am hoping for the same for you too mrsmc choccie hope you enjoyed your chinese. was hhoping dp might suggest that, but alas, no

and hello to all you other lovely juners!!! i just cant wait for this lo to be here. keep trying to imagine what hes going to look like. ds and dd looked so different as bubbas, but very similar as toddlers....

chocciedooby · 14/03/2009 10:26

Hi ladies.Sorry to hear some of you didn't have a great nights sleep.

I had a strange one. When chinese arrived I was starving but as soon as I started to eat I got terrible stomach cramps (again) and had to rush off to the loo (nothing happening though.sorry if tmi). I had the shovers and pains just like last week and they lasted for about 20 mins.Couldn't enjoy dinner Then I woke at around 2am as well, with a really bad sore throat?! I am convinced I have a viral bug living in my body that just keeps showing itself in different forms.

Anyway, I'm just a bit snotty this morning.

Really looking forward to my day. had flowers from dh last night, chocs this morning, a lovely card and the kids also made me cards. So sweet Babysitter arriving at 12 and dh and I are off for the afternoon. Can't wait!

Hope you all have a lovely day. xx

tibsy · 14/03/2009 10:39

happy birthday choccie hope youre feeling better soon and hope you have a fabulous day. what lovely, thoughtful dh and dc you have. x

bigcar · 14/03/2009 10:50

Happy birthday choccie

Hope everyone else has a lovely weekend too!

Naat · 14/03/2009 10:58

Oh no, no way of catching up!!!

Hello, Juners (loved that word, Tibsy )

First of all, Happy birthday Choccie!!!! HOpe you enjoy your day with DH!!! (Hope you don't have any discomfort anymore)

Glad about the good results, Doris and hope they're the same for you MrsMc

to hear about your night, Tee, hope you're feeling a bit better now...

Didn't watch Comic relief last night (though I recorded it so I might cry later today) as DH and I were invited for dinner at one of his work colleagues who is also pregnant. Her DH is really nice and started getting really well with mine. They made fish curry for us and we took an Argie dessert, which they liked so . (They also joined the "let's help the Argies move in June" campaign hahaha)

We came back late (12ish) and you'd think that would make me sleep all through the night... NO! I woke up 4 (yes 4!) times to wee and then of course had to fight to fall asleep again

I finished my book and have the sex and the city movie dvd here with me to watch while DH goes to play football at noon.

HOpe you all have a great Sat morning.

ermintrude13 · 14/03/2009 11:01

tibsy I'm fascinated by whether this one will look like Its bro or sis - you kind of expect DC of different genders to be different, but of course 2 brothers or 2 sisters can also be extremely unalike. It's hard for me to imagine a girl that doesn't look like DD or a boy who isn't the spit of DS!

Tee The gloopy nature of Gaviscon is its worse feature. I have to sort of swallow it fast without tasting it so it doesnt' hang about in my mouth for long. It does do the trick for me though.

choccie have a lovely birthday and hope you can manage to enjoy a lovely lunch

Everyone else, hope you're having relaxing Saturdays and being waited on hand and foot.

Tee2072 · 14/03/2009 11:27

Back from shopping. For the record, Gaviscon tablets are just as nasty as the liquid! But at least it works!!

We ordered our pram today. A Quinny Buzz 3 in Storm (that's black to normal folks!) with the carrycot, foot muff, shopping basket etc etc etc. My mjum sent us a cheque for it. She's a good mum!

So that's one major purchase out of the way!

MrsMcJnr · 14/03/2009 14:39

Hey ladies sorry to hear about all the bad nights of sleep

Choccie - hope you are having a lovely birthday poor you not feeling well again last night, wonder what it is?

Ermintrude and Tibsy - it is funny wondering who the baby will look like isn't it? you just can't imagine before you have a child together how your DHs and your genes could possibly mix but in DS I love what we created from the 3d/4d scans (had one the other night too) she has the same pouty lips as DS and does look quite like he did as a newborn.

Tee - hope you are happy with your purchase

Naat - we have an Argentinian steak house here and it is fab, never tried the puddings though

We are out tonight, at least being pregnant you don't have to think too much about what you are going to wear, it's either A or B for me anyway!

Naat · 14/03/2009 15:51

MrsMc enjoy your night out with DH
Glad to hear you like "our" food

Tee at your purchase!!

I've just finished watching SATC, the movie... I'm in floods here! Oh my, it sounds so silly but there you go...

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 14/03/2009 17:26

Enjoy your night out MrsMc - how lovely!

Poor you Naat - I think I cried at the movie too..

Tee - I agree about the tablets being foul, I find them worse. The bits get stuck in your teeth and you can't seem to clear your mouth of all the debris. At least the liquid goes down in one.... Congrats on your purchase. Lovely to get the big ones out of the way!

Happy birthday choccie! Sounds like you have a lovely birthday planned.

Had a wander round town today while DH took DS to the IL's for the morning. I was so slow walking round and my tummy really ached when I got back. Not so fun to have a wander as it used to be...

Right... off to go and cook a chicken pie for tea. Enjoy your Saturday evening people xx

June2009 · 14/03/2009 17:29

Happy Birthday choccie!

The only thing I have found that does not give me heartburn is boiled cauliflower (with bechamel sauce, mmmmmm).

Tee2072 · 14/03/2009 18:16

Happy Birthday choccie!!!

OP posts:
lauraloo09 · 14/03/2009 19:43

evening all sorry for not being in contact yesterday, was a very busy day but very enjoyable

choccie hope you had a lovely birthday!

Just to let you know 4d scan was GREAT! I have posted a couple of photos on my profile, please feel free to have a look I think she is the most beautiful baby ever (mother being biased already ) It was also 99.9% certain it is a girl so can now offically start calling her Sarah and buying clothes
x
I will attempt to catch up, but think I will just start afresh from tomorrow
