OP posts:
tristaleejac · 21/02/2009 00:46

Hey guys I am still here! Been having a horrible time lately, don't want to come on and moan about it though. Will try to catch up over the weekend.
Bloody computer hasn't been working properly either. I sorted out a virus last week but I think I've only just cleared it completely now. I hate computers!
Hope you're all ok talk soon x

BabyBolat · 21/02/2009 06:51

Morning!!

Nutty LOL I think you should change your name to Smutty'Do you want to join our buddy system'NuttyTaff!!! Thank God we have someone as organised as you doing this!!

Boffin that is amazing - what a difference in just a day! take it easy tho - who knows what did it the bumper cars, massage or nice nookie! I have every confidence you will be back to yourself in no time once this LO is out!!

Tristal - what's wrong - you can moan that is what we are here for!!

Nutty re titles:

Due April 2009 - Episode 14 Fanjo Warriors attempt to be "clean" during this thread?? NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN!!!

Due April 2009 - Episode 14 - Braxton Hicks & SPD niggles we grit out teeth as our bumps get the wiggles - THIS IS MY FAVOURITE!

Puzzle, dont actually feel ready to stop yet as much as I hate it when I am there - and think just cutting down the commute to London will really help!

BoffinMum · 21/02/2009 07:22

Hello. SPD back - didn't sleep that well, as hips got stuck whenever I turned over as usual, but tbh pain still marginally better. I don't think I'll be running up the stairs today though. Shame. It was quite liberating. I had momentary visions of being able to paint the hallway like Bleu and do proper nesting and so on.

It was funny yesterday how patently unfit I have become since November. I got really breathless on one single flight of stairs, despite being able to manage them OK technically for once. I think I am really going to have to work hard to get some degree of fitness back without hurting my joints, because it's all gone really fast. This is probably not surprising as I spend my life sitting on my backside avoiding most movement though.

kayzr · 21/02/2009 07:24

Hello,

Just popping in to let you know that Glaskham who did orginally join the April 09 ante-natal club had her little girl Ruby Marie at 8pm last night. She is about 9 weeks early and weighed 4lb 3oz, both mum and baby are doing well.

Good luck everyone!!

BoffinMum · 21/02/2009 07:30

Thanks for letting us know, kayzr, that is however very scary for the rest of us!! (My own due date is under 6 weeks away now). Congratulations to Glaskham and the first 'April' baby!!!

BabyBolat · 21/02/2009 07:31

Oh Boff that is annoying - maybe you could persuade DH to give you day trips massages and good nookie everyday until LO is born - for medical reasons!!

While it is so frustrating DH and Nutty are right tho - look how speedy your recovery was yesterday so in 5 weeks time you will be able to start getting back to normal!!!

It's really not surprising - you have been pretty much immobile for months but if you start off slowly you will get there!

BoffinMum · 21/02/2009 07:32

Tbh I wasn't expecting it to last really. That would have been too amazing.

BabyBolat · 21/02/2009 07:34

Wow thanks for letting us know kayzr - send her our best wishes!! that is a good weight for 9 weeks early - according to my MW this LO is somewhere between 4-4.5lbs and I only have 5+1 weeks left! Lovely name and so glad they are doing well!

Was booked in for my 'induction consultation' yesterday just in case I go over! - 5 weeks on Thursday so reasured that no matter what I will be having this baby within a week of that meeting so maximum 6.5 weeks to go!!!

BabyBolat · 21/02/2009 07:35

Could you imagine tipping up to your drs saying thanks for all your drugs and physio etc for the past 6 months but bumper cars and bonking have sorted me out just fine!

BoffinMum · 21/02/2009 07:40

Why are you talking about induction BB?

BabyBolat · 21/02/2009 07:55

They book you in for one week past your due date to discuss induction options just in case you need it! So at my 35 week appointment yesterday they booked me in for that

BoffinMum · 21/02/2009 08:03

That's so negative of them. Quite interfering IMO.

BabyBolat · 21/02/2009 08:18

Well am hoping it wont get to that - as from teh beginning of March I will be doing whatever I can to get this thing out!!!

BoffinMum · 21/02/2009 08:57

At that stage, they only come out when they're cooked, even if they try to induce you!!

When I was in the hospital last month, one woman had been brought in for induction on the Wednesday at about 10 days overdue, and there was such a staffing shortage they hadn't induced her by the Saturday afternoon when I left. She was going mental with frustration. We last saw her walking around the hospital car park, very fed up. But my impression was that the poor child simply wasn't ready to come out - she just didn't look like a woman about to have a baby, tbh - I reckoned left to her own devices she would have had another week to go. But that was just instinct on my part.

BoffinMum · 21/02/2009 09:01

I should add they gave her two lots of the gel and she was having minor contractions while I was there, but the cervix just wasn't going to budge. They were obviously not worried about her health or that of the baby, because they kept refusing to rupture her membranes, as there were no mw free to deliver her baby. She had tried curry, bouncing on a Swiss ball, and even a shag in the bathroom with her DH, and nothing had worked!! I think there's no point even expecting anything to happen until 42 weeks because otherwise you get your hopes up only to be dashed over and over again, with a late arrival!

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 21/02/2009 09:44

Morning

Congratulations to Glaskham and Welcome little Ruby!!!

How exciting

Boffin NOooooo, aw feck that sucks i'm glad i live in a bungalow so that i cant test my fitness (i would go mental).

BB -try to avoid induction if you can i have heard that induced labours can be quite "hard and fast" or on the flip side really drawn out and tireing (i may be talking tosh mind you). in the case of labour i think nature should be left to do its thing. xx

OP posts:
SmuttyNuttyTaff · 21/02/2009 09:47

Trista - thanks for the mail you know thats what we're here for right? feel free to moan whenever xx

OP posts:
SmuttyNuttyTaff · 21/02/2009 09:53

BB - on the most positive side you're body has been gearing up for labour for a while now with all the BH so i'm sure you're body will ready to do it's thing soon

OP posts:
BoffinMum · 21/02/2009 09:53

BB the syntocinon drip is the really nasty one. You often end up having an epidural after one of those because the pain is mental.

PuzzleRocks · 21/02/2009 10:11

Hi Trista - We are here to listen if it would help to have a grumble. We have all done our share of moaning.

PuzzleRocks · 21/02/2009 10:13

Oh wow, the first April baby is here. I think i'll pop over to that thread to say congrats. It makes it seem very very close now.

PuzzleRocks · 21/02/2009 10:19

This one gets my vote. We are the St Trinians of the ante-natal threads.
