On the ohter hand I don't put on muh weight in pregnancies and have big babies

Afternoon. I was too grumpy to post this morning

Ive sat down today though and I jut ordered the bigger of the two bags with a lovely discount too.

What time was Springy getting hitched?

I have got rid of anount huge binbag of outgrown clothes (kids) this morning so thats 6 so far. Lets hope this boy doesnt turn out to be a girl

Whos packed a hospital bag and when did you do it?

brettgirl2 · 20/02/2009 14:54

Along with others my pelvic pain has also got worse again - had today off work as leave and had planned to go to the races but didn't make it . Had MW appointment the other day and head hasn't engaged yet, also not having BH. I bet I'm going to be late aren't I?

Happy wedding day springy,

7 days at work till mat leave (4 days next week, 3 days week after).

I'm not going to weigh myself now until after the birth - I have a nasty feeling that I wouldn't like what I see. DH is the same height as me, and normally about a stone heavier, I expect it's currently the other way round . It's the one disadvantage with having a husband whose body is a shrine......

I bought my first baby clothes today, I'm quite shocked at how big they look haha.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 20/02/2009 15:03

Bronze - bag packed about 3 weeks ago (i'm very ready to have this baby now, i think i see having my bag packed as encouragement for the baby to come out lol ) good bag choice

Brettgirl - yay for mat leave & first bambino clothes!! will you be joining out buddy ststem?

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 20/02/2009 15:04

Brettgirl - sorry you're pelvic pain is bad too ((hugs))

OP posts:
bronze · 20/02/2009 15:12

You are organised aren't you.
I think I better hunt out the small sized nappies.....
back later

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 20/02/2009 15:14

Bronze - nope just desperate

Bleuravin · 20/02/2009 15:22

Oh dear the SPD gremlins are at it again are they? Pooh on them. Id' say get to your GPs and see what more can be done for painkillers and such.

I've not packed my bag yet...though I so keep collecting things for it... The way I felt last night I should probably get it together 'just in case' Though I truly think (I'm sure wrongly) that my babe is going to be later than the due date.

OddEyes · 20/02/2009 15:28

nasty braxtons was all i thinks, am not in labour anyways.
had a rest and then a sleep. feeling better.
was a warning to me though, that i am not ready and need to take it easy; but those two things are incongruous, as need to do lots of shopping, cleaning, shopping to be ready!

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 20/02/2009 15:31

OddEyes - why roam the high street when you have a world of shopping at your fingertips thanks to the web put your feet up and surf cleaning can be put on hold. Glad you're feeling better now

Bleuravin · 20/02/2009 15:45

have you seen this ladies? Our nappy guilt is relieved!

Bleuravin · 20/02/2009 16:13

Does anyone else's head feel like it's floating above their shoulders rather than attached to it? Geez I'm useless today because I cannot think straight...

brettgirl2 · 20/02/2009 16:14

I'm not feeling guilty about nappies, I would bet that the most vocal eco warriors on this live in a mansion, have a new kitchen every three years and drive a chelsea tractor.

I may use re-usables though, mainly because I think they are less disgusting. I may be wrong though and am keeping absolutely open minded about everything.

I have a physio appointment next week, so hopefully that will ease things a bit. It isn't yet as bad as it was when I was 22 weeks so hopfully it will stay that way. Must admit, although I'm currently taking paracetamol (which I think helps a bit I'm not keen to take extra drugs unless it is absolutely vital (which it clearly is for boffin and nutty because their pain has been far worse). I have had to take Omeprazole all the way through for heartburn too (which I have all the time, not just when pg). I don't feel too bad as well because I am now nearly 33 weeks so it isn't too much longer - I was really scared at 22 weeks I would be like that for four whole months! If I ever get pg again though I will be swimming and doing pilates from the start (although maybe I have convenient memory, I think I had early bleeding and felt too sick to move ) I will deffo go to an Osteopath at the first twinge though!

I'm not 100% sure about buddy system - I have two good RL friends who are due within 2 weeks of me - a date buddy who is also a first timer and a more 'experienced' lady who is due 12 days before. Generally I prefer to keep internet and RL separate?

Just a really silly question - I was looking at 'nursing bras' and was relieved to see that they go down to a B cup (yes, they still fit into that size) but they looked rather large - do they come up bigger than normal bras?

Bleuravin · 20/02/2009 16:21

B cups...I've not been those for ages...

Maybe they just look big because of the padding? The E cup that I have look about right...though I'm not used to looking at E cups typically...

Schulte · 20/02/2009 18:06

Brettgirl, I know what you mean, I have B cup feeding bras and they look massive to me too - I think it's because they have to be more supportive than normal B cups, which I always think are just for decorative purposes really or at least that's what I used to think before my boobs starting sagging after 9 months of bf'ing...

Schulte · 20/02/2009 18:09

So friend came round with 3 day old baby and I am feeling much better now about having two soon because all the baby did was sleep and look cute! Also my friend said recovery after the second birth is much quicker - I hope it's true for all women...

NorthernLurker · 20/02/2009 18:11

Ladies - can I make a friendly suggestion? Your looking for the awol posters threads are a great idea - but don't bump them on all en masse as there are six of them and I was just on active convos and it was like my whole world was about April ladies! (Which is not a BAD thing - I'm an April 07 mum myself) Just would hate for you to get moaned at by some of our grumpy sisters!

PuzzleRocks · 20/02/2009 18:15

Noted NL . I will probably consolidate them shortly anyway.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 20/02/2009 18:16

Thanks for the advice Northern

Hello lovely ladies,

Have answered the summons from the other thread and come over to say hello - normally at this time I'm doing DS' tea, but he has conked out on the sofa after a busy day at nursery, so I'm taking advantage of the peace and quiet......

Just in the final slog before I finish work and it's kind of hideous. My boss is a nightmare and hasn't recruited anyone to cover my job yet, and lots of things to finish which I can't finish because of other people's incompetence, etc etc etc. If I forget to take my iron tablet then I turn into a wobbly weeping wreck by 6pm, and last night DP and I had a blazing row because he totally failed to heed anything I'd said to him about needing his help and came home three sheets to the wind . Think DS may have learned some new bad words yesterday

Also the company I ordered our new buggy from seems to be a cowboy operation and keeps promising to deliver it, but so far nothing, and I didn't pay on credit card so no buyer protection. Really hoping that it isn't £200 down the drain

On the plus side, DP is suitably apologetic, work was much better today, and I went shopping and bought a lovely all in one for the baby to come home in. (And also a new necklace for me.....!)

And it's the WEEKEND, thank heavens.

Sorry I missed Springy before her wedding, I hope she's enjoying honeymoon antics and all that.

Am going to be madly washing all DS' baby clothes and folding and putting them in drawers, and arranging nappies and muslins happily all weekend. Sadly DP is on a stag night.

And I have a reflexology session booked for tomorrow, hooray!

Phew. Update over. Have been skimming for news, who's already had their baby?

Also BoffinMum you're a braver woman than me with your stirring threads......I've been lurking on a few and posting on a couple but not really posting much, will all change from Thursday 12th March when I'll be on maternity leave! Yay!

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 20/02/2009 18:18

Hello NorthernLurker!

NorthernLurker · 20/02/2009 18:23

Hijack - sorry work is such a nightmare but hurrah for maternity leave! All good here.

PuzzleRocks · 20/02/2009 18:24

Ooh what's the necklace like?

Let's hope the pram company are just slow and not dodgy. How long ago did you order?

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 20/02/2009 18:26

Brettgirl - completely up to you. no pressure re the buddy sytem at all, completely understand if you dont fancy it.

The aim of it is just so that we can let a fellow mner know when labour starts/ when you have given birth so your buddy can post minimal details onto the thread for you ((weight, name, just that you have birthed and that you are ok really) it's always a busy time so just thought a text would be easier and quicker than logging on to mn with a newborn and you being sleep deprived etc. Just leaves you to come on when you want and post birth story etc when and if you want in your own time (but we know your baby has arrived safely).
