Do you not need to have a full bladder for the first scan?

I thought you did need to have a full bladder pass pregnancys i have always been told that i should have one. Just recieved my scan appointment and it says you do not need to have a full bladder? has this changed then?

You do ime, but I would start drinking when you get there rather than before. I was desperate and, typically, they were runnng late so I had to give in and go

I've not bothered much about the full bladder thing since I went with my first baby and they told me to go to the toilet because it was too full .
My 'policy' is to go to the toilet an hour before then have a glass of water (about 250mls ish) and then not go to the toilet again until after the scan.
It must work OK because with my last scan I was told the view was one of the clearest and best that the sonographer had ever seen [proud emoticon!]
