HI all

i have a 2yrs old son, and am pregnant with 2nd one (21 week). I did NCT antenatal whcih I really enjoyed and found useful for the first child..now I am wondering if I will find refresher class useful.. i think NCT is great for 1st one and to meet people, ..
we have moved to a new area since sept, so start meeting new people with toddler group and a bit with ursery..but not so much as i am working soemwhere else..so what do you think?
nct refresher class useful?
i know will be great to meet other people, with other child, but as I start meeting few people around I am thinking may not be so useful to join..
and finally it is a bit of money, which I can easily use otherwise..
any advices and experience welcome..
thanks
H.

bumping...

Hi hrjrw

I'm also expecting dc2 and was considering taking one of these classes.

Most of my friends are past the newborn stage with their 2nd babies and I thought it'd be good to find some people to compare notes with in those early, sleep-free days.

Has anybody taken one? found it useful? total waste of money?

My old childminder did one
She found it very useful, btu she had had a traumatic first birth, so found the info really helpful.

You could always see if your local branch has coffee mornings or similar - cheaper way of making mates (although much more chance they are first timers, I imagine )

I've signed up for one - had an elective section last time (DS is 3) and planning a VBAC so wanted to remind myself and DH of what might happen!

The notes that came with my booking form say that they'll also cover coping with more than one child, dealing with sibling rivalry etc as well as a reminder of labour, early days etc...

Haven't been on the course yet (not til next month) so can't say how useful it's been!
