Ha ha

I was huffing and puffing up the stairs earlier and wishing I could start my maternity leave today!

Well done the Barbarella babies! Did you find out what you're having?

BarbarellaNz · 08/01/2009 14:53

Schulte We did but superstitious dh has swprn me to secrecy ....all I'll say is that there is at least one of each....

conkertree · 08/01/2009 14:55

great to hear from you barbarella - you have an excuse for putting on 2 stone. well done the babies for being big - so you're carrying the equivalent of one almost full term baby now - can see why you'd measure 38 weeks. hope you are comfortable enough to enjoy mat leave for a few weeks though before the chaos begins. sure you will take to it very quickly.

you'll be on here giving us all advice as an oldtimer by the time all our lo's come along.

nutty - i liked the feeling slightly out of it on gas and air - like being happy drunk although i think i went on and on about how it makes you talk funny - sure the mw got rather bored of me after a while.

sorry if i missed it before, are you definitely staying in, or is the bag for just incase you have to?

Barbarella!!! Yay your back (didn't want to say but was very worried about you! But now remembered you were on holiday and yay!

Great news about your scan (did you find out the sexes on Xmas eve and can you tell us - don't worry if you can't!!!) Am so excited for you!!! Did you have a lovely Christmas!

Re weight, I don't use scales, even when not pregnant, I use clothes size and I know I have put on a lot of weight - and a fair bit on my legs and bum (where it always goes!!) but I know what I am like and will definitely be determined to lose it all as soon as the baby has come!!! Clairey am very of your lack of weight gain but good for you!

Oooh I love all your names!! I have to say, I quite like unique sounding names so would go for those over more traditional names like Jessica every time but I think they can be lovely on the right person also - the only thing that would put me off is Jessica Simpson who I think gives Jessica's a bad name!!!

Frekkles, you both have to be happy so you have to stand your ground. I am quite traditional so would want my baby to have the dad's name (that and my maiden name was HORRIFIC and wouldn't wish it on the poor child!!) but completely get why you would want them you have your name and think it is important that you come to a solution that suits you both!

Can't remember who said it, but am having real problems with poo this time and only go once every three or four days and when I do it's not lots, and very hard (so sorry that is TMI!). Question, is it safe to take anything for this?

Nutty yay about the MW - look at you getting everything sorted - this really is our year girls, first Boffin got the physio sorted, now you and your back and birth, now we just need to sort the MIL's out and get the babies out and we are set!!!

Can't remember if I have missed anything off (been in a four hour financial meeting with work and have lost the will to live!!!) But am back and plan to spend my afternoon planning the sheer amount of work I have to do tomorrow and next week and speaking on MN!!!

God it took me so long to write that I missed all the other posts!

Nutty, sounds like everything - what about a towel for showering or do you get those? slippers? basic make up?

Oh Barbarella you will be a pro by the time we start pushing ours out (yours will be almost one month old!!!)

I can't have gas and air as all family members have had severe reactions to it so am going all natural (until I get the first contraction and demand an epidural immediately!!! )

BoffinMum · 08/01/2009 15:13

Barbarella!!!! We missed you!!!!

I am also breathless and as far as I know there's only one boy in there. I would have secretly liked girl twins though, to round off our collection of small people.

Do people normally have triplets early? You might not have very long to go ... a bit of me is jealous.

I am not sure how people deal with feeding 3 babies at once - do people manage to bf I wonder? Are you going to be able to get any domestic help with the washing and nappies and so on??

Re names, DH has suggested that we have both the names we like (with mine first) and we can call it both - AIBU to think that is just stupid!!!

I wouldn't want to scare small children so that would be the first on my packing list!!

Boffin, can't comment from personal experience but a friend of mine tried to BF with twins and lasted 3 days because they were small they needed more regular feeds so she was literally feeding 24 hours a days and it became too much! She did express tho and then topped up with formula!

I am VERY jealous of the early babies, if it was all safe and healthy I would have bubs out now! Pregnancy (especially this last bit is Dull, Dull, DULL!!!) And I want my baby please (want to know the flavour and what it looks like!!)

No, like Tayan Karahan Bolat. NO. Firstly we are not having middle names but secondly you can't call a child 2 different names!!!

BB dealing with not pooing have you had a fruit and veggie day? I was having trouble earlier in pregnancy and I had a fruit and veggie day when things got really uncomfortable and that sorted me out naturally. Might work for you.

BabyBolat · 08/01/2009 15:35

Bleu - have tried unfortunately (also eat about 10 pieces of fruit and veg a day - love it - although bizarrely for the first three months couldn't touch fruit!!!) Am not massively uncomfortable, just conscious that it is all a bit slower down there!

I've never been more regular in all honesty Not sure why exactly...I do eat cereal for a snack inbetween meals rather than the cakes or a coffee I used to have a work though...Must be the extra fiber from that?

conkertree · 08/01/2009 15:44

babybolat - it was me talking about poo - since people have been fairly open on this thread, i will just go right ahead and be open too - i have been having trouble with really big poos - not meant to sound funny but first time since giving birth that i remember the sensation of trying to push something massive out - very painful and have ended up with what i guess are piles (have had them very slightly since ds was born but only really flared up recently).

anyway, have been religious about eating weetabix/other cereal for breakfast, and more fruit than usual, and things in the last few days seem to be a bit more like normal.

think there are some fibre drink things that you can take while pg but not sure exactly what.

BoffinMum · 08/01/2009 15:45

Nutty, thank you for asking. Headache went after paracetemol and an early night (with a small insomnia break 4-5am to have some crispbread with peanut butter and Bonne Maman strawberry jam, and a quick read of a ripping yarn of a Frederick Forsyth book).

DH came home just before 9. I actually cried and made a fuss, before stomping off into the guest room: "I am going to be left holding the baby, I can just see it, you leave at seven every day, you are working too hard but I can't make a legitimate fuss because I know you're only doing it for us, I am fed up, I do a grown up job too, I am worn out" etc etc. He is coming home 'early' today, i.e. 7.45pm. I have to say I wish we had normal jobs sometimes.

conkertree · 08/01/2009 15:46

sorry missed all the other poo talk while posting. good to hear its not just me having problems.

BabyBolat · 08/01/2009 15:47

Oh Boffin, Princesses are allowed to have stomps, that's the rules!!!

Conker, yes we are all very open on this thread!!!
