Place your bets on how long this thread will last, my guess is two weeks!!

I had that thought this morning actually... I dunno, they don't say you should stop at some point...

KittyCatIsGettingFat · 16/01/2009 15:12

Hi Bleu
I applied via post as couldn't get through on the phone... apparently as long as you have earned enough and worked in your test period (you can work this out on the form) then you DO get MA - try this for more info if you haven't already

the link to the form is at the bottom

Bleuravin · 16/01/2009 15:18

Thankyou Kitty! I've got that form up just now...and I definitely fit into the criteria according to the first couple of pages AND the very first line on the 'figure out your test period dates' matches my dates of work...I shall print the forms off and fill them in this weekend. I may miss one or twwo weeks of pay, but hopefully it'll all go through and I'll get the rest... It will so help out...

Tell me about it Bleu! I was made redundant in November and have been looking for a contract ever since, so it'll be great to have a lil something to contribute to the household... although it is quite nice having DH taking care of ME for a change...

How does one typically find out about MA? We only found out because someone mentioned it to mil who mentioned it to dh who said something to me...

I agree with Nutty, Bleu - I only found about about it because when I was laid off my boss mentioned MA as an alternative to SMP. Which would have been about 100 times more money, but hey... such is life!!

PuzzleRocks · 16/01/2009 16:39

The turkish bath sounds blissful. The reality was quite different. DD threw all her bath toys in and tried to colour me in with her bath crayons while screeching "tattooooooooooo". She then shredded my newspaper and tried to throw that in.
I had the water too hot, my pulse starting racing and I got one of my wierd headaches with the visual disturbance.
So not the relaxing soak I had hoped for.

Fab, but i'm not sure about the one on my face. A bit too rock and roll even for me.

Bleuravin · 16/01/2009 16:52

Frekkles, if you e-mail me with a postal address at [email protected], I'll send off the nappies.
Let me know when you send me a message, as I hardly ever look at that inbox.

Feeling better now, a bit.
Had appt with my gynae today, everything fine, apart from mild anaemia. So there's one damn good reason for me to cheer up. Booked appt for the last scan in one month. Time is marching on. I still haven't decided on a bed system, and my pram/travel system combo from last time is a bit dead, as the internal polystyrene bit in the car seat is broken. Knowing modern manufacturers, I'll have to buy a whole new car seat, or maybe even a whole new travel system .

Springy:

"You are running a small theatre group which has been asked to put on a one-hour session for A level students based on An Ideal Husband. Suggest some approaches to the play that might accompany the performance. You may use any mix of practical exercises or informative handouts, but document them all and explain their purpose."

Flippin eck that's hard, bearing in mind the last time I saw the play was in 1996 and I haven't taught drama since 1995. But here we go.

  1. Ice breaker and warm up (5-10 minutes) - mirror each other in pairs, trust exercises, something like that.
  1. Improvisation (25-30 minutes). In groups of 4 get them to modernise their favourite part of a scene from the play and improvise it as if it was taking place in the current day. Perform to rest of group.
  1. Mime (15 minutes). In pairs get them to act out favourite character and part of scene without words, and see if the others can guess which it is.
  1. Cool down (5-10 minutes). Lie on floor in your own space and do breathing/relaxation exercises led by teacher.
SpringySunshine · 16/01/2009 18:39

Ooh, Boffin, you genius! Knew I could count on you (Is there anything you haven't taught?!) Thank you, lovely! xx

How are you feeling today?
