We are both very fond of the name Fraser. I've only met two before. One was a very good looking blond man who was a great skier, the other was a very nice dark haired Scotsman with a thick accent..

Obviously it is a Scottish name, but I was wondering what other people's perceptions are of the name, and in Scotland, what kind of boy tend to be 'Frasers'.

One small reservation is that my mother could not stand a family relative whose surname was Fraser (he was quite unkind to his wife) however this was some time ago and I'm sure she would get over it should we have a boy and name him Fraser.

Many thanks.

I'm scottish and generally like scottish names but have to say I'm not keen on this. It may be because I only knew a couple of Frasers at school and both were very geeky.

I now have 2 friends (neither scottish) who have called their ds Fraser.
