OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Hmm - maybe doesnt work with 4 year olds but DS when he was little (around 3 months) used to wake up gurgling when hungry and give me the most lovely smiles when he saw me coming to feed him - was really lovely (and lasted for quite a few months after that until he was finally sleeping through).

Now he's a toddler we dont get the nighttime gurgles and smiles though - we get the waahs and I want my mummy yells instead...

littleboyblue · 15/12/2008 18:02

Yes, listen and obey PP, she is 100% right.... We didn't do too bad and managed to get out at least once a week with friends to the local pub, but really should have done cinema and dinners more.

At the begining with ds, I loved getting up in the night to feed him (I used to wake him for a feed coz I'm a fool, won't be doing that this time!), it was like it was our special time, it was dark and quiet and it was just us (whilst dp pretended to be asleep so he didn't have to get up), and it just felt that much more special than in the day.

MrsChristmasY · 15/12/2008 19:50

Evenin' all -

Hope we are well. I'm still getting the pains, and haven't heard back from the DAU, so still none the wiser as to cause. It's a bit of a bugger, but madam's still wriggling around, so it's clearly not bothered her...

Our tree is up and all pressies are wrapped - just need to finish writing the cards and get them posted and I can put my feet up! I have my work Christmas lunch tomorrow, and then will probably stop working over Christmas and New Year as my current contract expires this week. I predict big problems going back in January after a two week break...

New bump pics on facebook - btw, I re-read my threat from October and realised we haven't booted out the 'lurkers' - should we follow through with the threat?

SwampsterQuakesAtTheSight · 15/12/2008 20:20

Go on, MrsScareY!

MarkTheHeraldAngelsStretch · 15/12/2008 20:46

Cull! Cull! Cull!

MrsChristmasY · 15/12/2008 20:48

I'm not ScareY - I don't moonlight as a Haloween pumpkin...

MarkTheHeraldAngelsStretch · 15/12/2008 20:50

Swampy didn't even have to dress up at Halloween, she's terrifying enough.

littlesez · 15/12/2008 20:59

pink I intend to do all those things thankyou for the advise, Will be chilling out! thats why im taking my mat leave quite early because i really want some ME and bump time.

After working non stop since i was about 14, never really taken sick days or many hols (except when i got married and took 2 weeks off)

Im still very very excited and loving being pregnant. I know i have had it easy with only the usual niggles and no time in hospital or any scares at all, appreciate its not same for everyone. But just loved it all (might not be saying that next month!) I wonder if its just coz its my first babs?

PinkPoinsettias · 15/12/2008 21:02

[tumbleweed]

MarkTheHeraldAngelsStretch · 15/12/2008 21:05

Ahhh think how cute they look, all tiny in a little babygro. And they smell all gorgeous, especially their heads. And you want to kiss them all over their lovely little face.

I think the hormones are kicking in....

MrsChristmasY · 15/12/2008 21:17

they look cute, MS, but the noise and the smell? they're a bit like Swampy in that respect...

pluto · 15/12/2008 21:21

Ahhh yes, the smell of a freshly filled nappy, regurgitated milk down our fronts and the dirty washing festering in the laundry basket...we can look forward to these nasal onslaughts with much joy

Oh - but the tiny weeny vests and little kitten-ness of a newborn. Lovely and amazing. It still feels like forever away though. I am going to be pregnant and at work forever.

MarkTheHeraldAngelsStretch · 15/12/2008 21:34

Swampy has the scent of a damp Alsation with halitosis.

PinkPoinsettias · 15/12/2008 21:35

yep... yummy smelling babies in teeny weeny little clothes covered in spit up and poo screaming their lungs out.... sounds like my older 2 alright

MarkTheHeraldAngelsStretch · 15/12/2008 21:51

Can you believe there is a Due AUGUST 2009 thread?!

Our babies will be 6 months old!

chilledmincepiemama · 15/12/2008 22:18

not all of them...if I go over (god forbid) then it could be more like 3 1/2 months...maybe that's just how big I feel and long it feels away still
I am so uncomfortable at the moment...my entire abdomen is aching and its not BH or anything like that...just achy

chilledmincepiemama · 15/12/2008 22:20

mank mank moan moan...now for some good news...I have 1 1/2 days left at work before I start 2 1/2 weeks leave for Christmas

PinkPoinsettias · 15/12/2008 22:27

buckets of sympathy chilled... my bump has done that a few times too and it's bloody horrible. drink lots of fluid, have a nice warm shower and head to bed, the shower doesn't necessarily ease it but it relaxes you enough to sleep through it.

hope it's better by the morning

SwampsterQuakesAtTheSight · 16/12/2008 00:00

That damp Alsatian with halitosis smell is MrsScareY's Fluffles, not ME!

littlesez · 16/12/2008 06:25

She woke me up at 5am. oh well maybe she is preparing me for nighttime feeds! Couldnt believe how much she was wriggling, well more like booting and then lots of poking of an elbow i think. made me giggle, so can't sleep now so just watching my bump moving around.

Glad im up got loads to do this week, organising works christmas show/awards/party for 300 people so busy with that, thats on Friday then i finish! Last night i had my last class with 2 of my squads and i actually cried my eyes out. The mums just looked at me like aww shes so sweet all hormonal, but the kids were a bit more like mmmmm crazy woman crying!

Ah well maybe I am going to miss the little buggers after all, couldnt wait to get rid of them now im sobbing over missing them, Monday night is my good group though. Always said i would stop working with kids when i have my own wonder what ill do?

OK im sure there has been much discussion about it before and theres probably a thread some where about cloth nappies(which i can't be arsed to look for) but my mum has offered to buy some for me. Any suggestions? shall i buy a few different types or just go for the offer they have on little lambs at the mo. Its 10 nappies, wraps, liners etc for £99 Any advise welcome (never used cloth nappies before as she is my first babs xxx

littleboyblue · 16/12/2008 07:40

Morning all. Can't help with the cloth nappies littlesez as I'm a disposable girl but sure someone will advise at some point today.
It's lovely that you're all excited about the baby, it is definately different for the next ones. Not saying \I'm not excited it's just...... don't really know. Not so much a worry of the unknown I suppose.
Gona try make appointment with mw today, although I tried yesterday and was told to wait till after xmas. The hospital told me urne is contaminated with another infection so now really scared about what that is and can't get the Strep B thought out of my mind...

ImDreamingOfANortyXmas · 16/12/2008 08:01

Morning all

Quickie from me and I haven't caught up yet....got today, tomorrow and Friday at work then its MAT LEAVE

littleboyblue · 16/12/2008 08:06

Ds is at least 2 a day. Yesterday he shit on the rug!!!

turkeyandherbstuffinggarden · 16/12/2008 08:38

Morning all.....
One of my work colleagues apparently had a dream about me last night - I was dressed as a cake - do you think he's trying to tell me something.

MS - not wanting to sound smug or anything but I did read the fudge recipe and thought that I had made it with condensed last time (and still have some in my cupboard) so thought maybe I'd just substitute......should have put my hand up then shouldn't I.
See you later !

KT1983 · 16/12/2008 09:01

Morning all,

Not had a chance to catch up since Friday - but I hope everyone is doing well?
I had yesterday off work & spent the day shopping, It was great, bought lots of bits for hospital bag - only cheapos from Primark - but fun anyway.
Then I went over to Asda and bought a ten ton of food for Crimbo Its only me & my DP this year - but no doubts we will sit and eat until were almost sick
Had a wonder over to Mothercare & tried to find a maternity costume - They were quite expensive for a tankini! - Might just stick with my normal bikini bottoms and a vest top me thinks.

I think I had Braxton Hicks lastnight - I was woken up by this really tight pain, just below my boobs and above the bump - It felt like it went on for ages - It actually almost took my breath. Is that normal BH? It really worried me, I thought something was happening...I almost woke up DP as I was getting very concerned. Any ideas?

We have our 2nd Growth scan today - bit nervous about it tbh. My belly has grown a little, but im still only looking 4/5months ish.
A lady in Mothercare yesterday was huge & I heard her partner say ' dont worry only another 4months to go' I felt like a fraud!!

I do hope she is ok when we have the Scan - Last time her belly measurment was a little too small - So hoping she has been feeding up on the Heros that ive been scoffing on recently

Anyway - Sorry to ramble - Have a good day everyone
