Blimey, 500 posts, that's impressive.

SPD update - Just been to GP and he was very nice. Has promised to chase top NHS obstetric physio person, gave me lots of nice drugs, very sympathetic. Has promised to write favourable reports for Blue Badge people and DLA people. Has also promised to speak to m/w about it (she has done nothing to help so far).

I woulnd't go as far as to say that things are looking up, but at least between DH and chiro and GP and you lovely ladies I know I am not alone.

SantasNuttySTaff · 02/12/2008 18:21

Boffin - Hooray for you and hooray for nice dr :-)

brettgirl2 · 02/12/2008 20:12

Sorry to hear of all of the nasty symptoms people are suffering from. I feel a bit bad for this, because overall I suppose I am blooming a bit and am not that big but I'm still just kind of bored of being pregnant. Work's doing my head in because I don't really see the point at the minute (will have to abandon project half way through and have already started handing over because it is really complex). I'm generally quite an impatient person and I want to meet baby now. Even more shameful, I want to be able to drink at Christmas parties .

hollytree · 02/12/2008 20:22

goodness its been another busy day.

boffinmum - i know you are having it really rough but as someone else says - its inspiring for the rest of us that you can still tell jokes etc. hope that the latest trip to the gp is the start of better things.

freckles - good luck telling the flat mates- cant be as hard as your ex - and if some of your friends have already been pleased, its a good sign.

springy - i am a big fan of the rabbit. think i'm going to get one for a single friend of mine for christmas - she fancies one but cant get up the courage to just get one - might have a look on that site you mentioned.

had my scan today. was great - she spent lots of time with us and told us everything she was doing. ds got a bit bored and was making a bit of noise but she didnt seem bothered at all. i thought i saw the turtle of a boy and dh thought he saw the three lines of a girl so we are still in the dark about that. think i am going to assume its a boy and if its a girl it will be a lovely surprise, cause i'd love to stop saying "your brother or sister" to ds.

anyway had a tiring day tidying up as much as i could - have a kilt to finish but dont have the energy now so the sofa it is.

hollytree · 02/12/2008 20:25

with you on the drinking over christmas brettgirl.

i'm similar to you - not quite blooming but no major problems to complain of. just the odd bit of tiredness - we are the very lucky ones.

i got like that about work last time - just stopped caring so much. this time i've never quite got back into caring that much which is bad - but knew we'd be having more children so its just a job just now rather than something i am passionate about.

roll on april.

Swaliswan · 02/12/2008 20:40

Evening Ladies,

Sorry I haven't been on for a few days. DH and I have both had tummy bugs over the weekend. DD has been having a few rough days as well and this has been very trying whilst DH and I have been so poorly. I'm due to have my scan and consultant appointment on monday and don't know what they will say about my prolonged sickness and dizziness. I'm starting to worry that I will never manage to get back to work before this baby is due

Swaliswan · 03/12/2008 08:37

Wow, did everyone have an early night last night, or have I managed the unthinkable and killed our antenatal club thread?! I hope not because I need to pick your brains, ladies. It's DH's TA Christmas party on saturday and I've said that I will go despite feeling utterly terrible. The thing is, it's fancy dress. No theme - I could choose anything but it's not that easy with a bit of a bump. So, any ideas? DH says that I could go as father christmas but wouldn't need the padding

BabyBolat · 03/12/2008 09:30

Morning all

Swaliswan don't worry you haven't killed the thread! Am hoping Springy was otherwise engaged last night and the rest of us were probably in bed by 8!!!

OOoh fancy dress, You could go as a little elf or a christmas pudding - play on the roundness!!!

SantasNuttySTaff · 03/12/2008 09:32

Morning Everyone

Swaliswan - oooooohhhhhh i looooooooovvvvvveeeeeee fancy dress..... you could go is the virgin mary (adapt an angel costume flowing white robes) any disney princess/ pocahantes etc , an angel, french maid, roman goddess (empire line toga type thingy), naughty scoolgirl, cavegirl, cheerleader, indian (feather headress ect), rock chick (Jeans and top and funky boots), cowgirl (checked shirt, cowboy boot, jeans and a hat), christmas fairy ar just a normal fairy (tutu, top, funky tights and wings), a cat.

i could go on ...... i have done all the above ..... dont let pregnancy stop you most females of any description recreate at some point, so go for it and have fun

SantasNuttySTaff · 03/12/2008 09:36

I did go to bed at about 10 last night fat chance of sleeping i would have torn off my arm for some gaviscon but not a drop in the house dh is going to get a supply on the way home from work tonight HOORAY

LuLuBai · 03/12/2008 10:02

Morning

I wasn't in bed at 10pm last night. I was cleaning the bathroom and mopping the kitchen floor. What an exciting life I lead!

Swaliswan - I love fancy dress too. Virgin Mary would be good and seasonal. Think she is normally depicted in blue rather than white though. Tread a bit gently with religious icons though Guess it depends on who is going to be there, some may be offended....

Love the Christmas Pudding idea, but it's perhaps not so flattering.

Elf costumes are very cute - especially if you have short hair. Cat's are easy to dress up as and it suits everyone. Claire's accessories sell cat's ears and clip on tails - paint on whiskers with eyeliner.

LuLuBai · 03/12/2008 10:19

Swaliswan I've found the perfect outfit

SantasNuttySTaff · 03/12/2008 10:22

LuLu - Thats Fab!!! :-) lol

gingersarah · 03/12/2008 10:53

I read a poem this morning by Michael Rosen, small enough to re type, and I found it very soothing. I don't know anything about babies and have never had one, but when I am feeling overwhelmed the most calming things I have heard from wise people on here and elsewhere are about the power of babies to bring their own magic to the mix.

We make a baby.
The baby smiles
we laugh:
the baby makes us.

We buy her toys
but she plays with shoes:
she makes herself.

BabyBolat · 03/12/2008 11:30

Nutty, I am with you on the gaviscon, feel like I could drink a bottle! have sent DH on a mission to purchase for when I am home tonight! hmph.

LuLu - that outfit is hilarious!

surprisenumber3 · 03/12/2008 11:30

Hi fellow April mums!

Have my 20 week scan on friday and can't wait!

Anyone elses baby just never keep still? Seriously it moves all the time, has hiccups loads and is constantly kicking me! Just never remember my other two being like this!

Hope everyone is doing good.

Anyone else not put on any weight yet?? everyone thinks I should be worrying.

SantasNuttySTaff · 03/12/2008 11:42

gingersarah - lovely poem

got one of my own ......the post that arrived this morning has given me inspiration

Happy christmas to me
got my cheque for redundancy
i can pay my red bills tout sweet
and not be thrown out on the street

Happy Christmas to Me
Lots of prezzies for everybody
now i wait for the baby to come
and we'll all be happy

Hooray if i could dance round my lounge right now i would....happy days!

just the baby and the back to sort out now ho hum come oooooooooonnnnnn april!

BabyBolat · 03/12/2008 11:45

Morning SurpriseNo3 - unfortunately I am definitely putting weight on (ho hum!) but don't think you should worry especially if you can feel the baby moving etc - you just must be lucky Just ask the m/w sure everything is fine!

With you on the movement, think my little bean is going for a syncronised swimming role - moves around swirling constantly then gives me a good jab to get itself back in to position!

Am really starting to wish I found out the sex now - part of me is glad I didn't but can feel bean getting a real personality (as in, know what time he or she wakes up, what she/he does or doesn't like me doing etc) so kind of want to put a gender-face to that!) and would make the naming issue easier!

3 weeks tomorrow until Christmas!! yay!!! Oooh must think of a festive name....

frekkles · 03/12/2008 11:46

pheweee, i've told my flatmates and they were shocked but lovely and supportive and kind to me,

So that's several hurdles completed now and hopefully now some time to relax. just want to get christmasy and happy and excited for a bit now before the challenges of the new year.

relatively atlast.

baby isn't moving tonnes but is definately there. i can feel it somersaulting as i type.

love to you all, have really appreciated your support. and will definately stay around to offer it back to others. what journeys we're all having. i'm with you on the drinking at christmas thing. sigh.

anyone know where you can buy sexy red maternity dresses?

BabyBolat · 03/12/2008 11:51

i think Mathsmummy or Boffinmummy bought one before so they might be able to help on where it was

Isabella Oliver does one www.isabellaoliver.com/maternity-clothes/maternity-dresses/D/30000/P/2:100:1020?actn=addkeyco detocart&keycode=PKPP6&GCID=S19287x001&KEYWORD=maternity%20dress
bit expensive tho - also don't you wish these companies would use actual pregnant people in their pictures not models with a fake bump!!!

So pleased you got it out - are they happy for you to stay on?
That's it isn't it in terms of the potential negative people to tell? such a relief for you and DP now you can enjoy your growing bump and get ready for those meadows!!!

Yay for frekkles!

gingersarah · 03/12/2008 11:52

Frekkles, CONGRATULATIONS! well done on all the hurdles you have recently breached.
I am so glad your flatmates are being lovely, now you can relax at last.

SantasNuttySTaff · 03/12/2008 11:53

Frekkles - www.everydaymaternity.com/boob-maternity-dress-p-498.html here :-)

good for you, so pleased that things are on the up :-)

Suprisenumber3 - good luck for your scan, movement, all the time esp when on mn for some reason (i think my bump likes you all and wants to say hi :-) )

hollytree · 03/12/2008 11:55

thats great frekkles- you must just feel like such a weight has been lifted. a definite pampering/relaxing weekend called for i think and a start to the enjoyment (or something) part of it all.

babybolat - i am like that too with the sex as thought I'd maybe be able to spot something at my scan yesterday but wasnt to be.

cant believe its 3 weeks to christmas - at least i have done some of my shopping but still got grandparents and harder people to get for - all the main ones were easy enough this year.

SantasNuttySTaff · 03/12/2008 11:59

BB - how about BabyBolatsBastedBreasts?
