I am starting Clomid today, day 3 -7 I need to take them. This probably sounds really stupid but when am I supposed to ovulate? i.e when is the best time to try to conceive is it the same as normal? I always thought it was days 10 - 14 but some places say 13 - 17 and I have just read 21?
I have 28 day cycle dead on.

Also have read about blood tests but my doctor just said see you in 6 months if not before in ante natal - do you always get blood tests?

I am 37 and have 2 teenagers from previous marriage - Help!!!!!!!!

I conceived DS1 on 2nd cycle of Clomid - afraid I can't help you with the timings, but yes, there is a blood test, at 21 days iirc, which can confirm whether you have ovulated or not. I'm surprised that your doc didn't tell you to come back for that - perhaps phone and check?

Good luck!

I conceived with high level clomid after a laparoscopy and my cycles are longer, so I ovulated later - it's a certain number of days (I think 10-14) before you get your period, not a certain number of days into your cycle that you ovulate iyswim? My gynaecologist advised that we aimed for days 10-20 (every other day).

On clomid, you generally have day 21 blood tests to see if you ovulated, so if you haven't ovulated they can increase the dose (or you'll be taking drugs that aren't having any effect). I would request them if I were you (I needed the higher dose, and wouldn't have liked taking the lower dose and trying for months thinking it was working when is wasn't). I had blood tests pretty much every month to see what was going on.

Good luck with everything - it certainly worked for us (I'm due in Feb!)

Thank you and congratulations, great to hear of success, ever hopeful. I am pretty much 28 days dead on so it should be the same either way I guess
