Hello all

back from honeymoon in Cornwall, wedding went really well (apart from the ubiquitus drunk SIL but its ok she does it at every wedding ) Just waiting for the photos now - some friends took some but we also had two friends who are actual photographers take a load and im really looking forward to seeing them!

No major disasters except for the day before the wedding the cake collapsing en route back from patisserie Valerie in Bristol - it was a profriterole tower for 80 and had no supports inside and it didnt take kindly to going around corners - we just patted it back into shape and it held till after the wedding - did look slightly leaning tower of pizaish but i was assured that it wasnt noticeable (yeah right lol)

Felt so exhausted after the wedding and now feel completely bereft of stuff to do although it did get a bit silly and busy towards the last few days and i got super stressed, still is nice being Mrs H now

Have had a skim of the posts and glad to see TBM still with us, sorry to hear that MRSY and SWAMPSTER had worrying scan results - i really hope that things are ok for you both xx

Well just the usual stuff here - no outy belly button though ( i never get those ) i must have the deepest belly button ever! Have another cardiac scan this weds for lo as last one he was far to busy moving around for her to do it properly so fingers crossed for that. Also going to have a 4d scan this coming Saturday so we can have a good look and see what the little scamp looks like I swear this is the most active baby i have ever carried and im not sure if thats got to do with him being a boy or not but he literally keeps me awake at night! Added to that my up all night peeing has come back with avengence, i cannot understand why i need to pee every 15 mins but i do - i thought that was literally the last few weeks but ive still got 10 to go this Friday ... seems ages as i am huge now. DH swears that i have popped even more since the wedding and i have to agree, i dont think anything is going to fit pretty soon.

littleboyblue · 24/11/2008 13:40

Congrats on the wedding rosie.

dinkystinky · 24/11/2008 13:43

Hi Rosey - glad the wedding and honeymoon went well and am sure the cake was delicious and no one noticed the leaning tower of pisa look.

Chilledmama - dont profess to being a freecycle expert (have just given away a buggy on there previously and noticed that there were lots of cots/cribs on offer too). Maybe one of the other more freecycle proficient mums can help - Think KazzaL was raving about freecycle?

LBB - is funny, we took DS to see Santa when he was 8 months (loved Santa - really smiley and v happy), last year (hated Santa - really clingy though in hindsight was when he was sickening for chickenpox that weekend - noticed the first spots the next day, hope Santa didnt get the pox ) and then this year he loved Santa again - all v odd

chilledmama · 24/11/2008 13:44

Congrats Rosie and MrRosie.

Glad you had a good time...looking forward to seeing some pics on FB!!

chilledmama · 24/11/2008 14:02

KazzaL
Need some freecycle advice!!!!!

LittleMissNorty · 24/11/2008 14:07

Congratualtions Rosie....I too have a VERY active baby that literally keeps me awake ....hope that settles when he/she is here....

Chilled - what about a sniper for e-bay...we use one called sniperight and it puts in our bids for us 6 seconds before the end of auction. so doesn't matter what time the auction finishes, and you can't get carried away either. And its free.

Questionkid · 24/11/2008 14:11

I've made myself feel better by being extra nice to my Mum over email this morning. She doesn't seem to be bothered about my grumpiness (she's had 4 children so I suppose she knows all about pregnancy hormones) so I'm going to forget all about being off with her and try much harder when I'm down there at Christmas. For 10 whole days.

My tummy button isn't anywhere near popping out, I don't think it will, but weirdly it's become much narrower and rounder. Feels odd.

I'm 30 weeks tomorrow, blimey it's all starting to get a bit imminent isn't it? (TBM is probably spluttering into her tea on reading this and thinking 'You're telling me!')

My LO keeps getting hiccups, now that feels weird.

KT1983 · 24/11/2008 14:32

Congratulations Rosie - Glad the big day went well

Im sure your guests loved the cake - Thats my fav cake shop, they do some lovely ones - So pretty & absolutly delicious

mumoverseas · 24/11/2008 14:40

congratulations MrsRosie, glad it all went ok.
Mrsy, hopefully all will be well and you can relax a little. My nephew was diagnosed with having some sort of cardio problem before he was born. His mum and dad were of course frantic, not knowing exactly what was wrong as like you, they were told there would have to be a more detailed scan when he was born. When he was a month old he had what seemed at the time to be major heart surgery (because he was so weeny) but in reality, it was probably quite minor in the scheme of things. Anyway, that was 15 years ago, he is now a strapping teenager into all sorts of sports including rugby. Just shows how good the medical care is and it will be even better now 15 years down the line. Will be keeping fingers crossed for you though x

chilledmama · 24/11/2008 14:40

All cake is delicious...or is that just me

MarkStretch · 24/11/2008 16:04

Afternoon

Congratulations Rosie! Did it feel funny writing 'DH' for the first time?!

Last night I dreamed that I had a baby boy, he was tiny and all snuggled up in a blue baby gro. He got to about 10 days old and I said to DH:

'Erm, should I have fed that baby?'

DH- 'But you haven't got any milk'

'Well I have if I squeeze, look'

DH- 'Well put it in a bottle then.'

'Why? Isn't that what my boobs are for? Actually, has anyone fed that baby anything since he was born?'

DH- 'No'

mrsy · 24/11/2008 16:11

MS- did you have a mound of cheese last night? Or maybe it's a sign that your milk is starting to do things (a friend who's due end of jan just sent me a text to say she started leaking at work when she heard a baby cry - weird stuff we go through, huh?...)

MarkStretch · 24/11/2008 16:11

I've forgotten how to look after babies haven't I?

OP posts:
MarkStretch · 24/11/2008 16:12

Well if I squeeze then I do have a bit!

I keep doing it to show DH but he tells off. Especially when I wipe it on him.

PinkTulips · 24/11/2008 16:30

congrats RosieH and MrRosieH so pleased it all went well for you and you had a ball.

rosie, is the peeing every 5 mins not also a sign of diabetes not being under control? ask your doctor to check your insulin levals just in case.

MS, you've just reminded me of the absolute tool that was across from me on the maternity ward when i's had ds.

her baby was crying for ages and she kept calling the nurses in because she was too busy on the phone didn't know what to do. after about the 5th time in an hour it occured to one of the nurses to ask her when she'd last fed and changed the baby. it turned out she hadn't, at all, she'd been presuming the nurses were doing it for her because 'she didn't know how' the poor baby hadn't been fed or changed in hours since the nurses had done it during the night to help her out!

littleboyblue · 24/11/2008 16:57

Dinky Imagine if Santa did get cpox and all the children he gave it too. Hahaha

PT Was it me you were opposite in the hospital?
I knew the nurses wouldn't feed ds, but I was so out of it, I don't think I knew what planet I was on, it took ages to dawn on me that I had a baby. That first night I didn't feed him for about 6 hours and it didn't dawn on me to change a nappy, had never been in that position before.
In the end, they threw us out of the ward because he wouldn't stop crying. How awful was I? It wasn't until about day 3 that I managed to sort myself out properly

pluto · 24/11/2008 16:57

Hello,

A Day in the Life of Pluto:

Waddle waddle waddle waddle waddle, collapse. Drink tea, waddle a bit more. Count how many working days until mat leave (29).

Belly button update: it is sticking out.

Now I have to waddle off to collect DS from tennis lesson and then waddle on home again. It's not an eco drive to foresake the car, it's an economy thing. It is a big drag.

Glad to see you back MrsY.

PinkTulips · 24/11/2008 17:09

that sounds awful llb... this girl was just clueless though. she was walking about just fine and had plenty of energy to tell her mates on the phone that 'the stupid baby won't shut the fuck up'. she just presumed that the nurses were only there to babysit for her while she caught up with all her friends!

Wallaroo · 24/11/2008 17:15

Hi everyone, McDreamy here. Gave up mumsnet for a while as I was spending too much time on it [blush Anyway have managed to move country in the meantime and am back in the UK. Bump expanding day by day but belly button still an innie!

mumoverseas · 24/11/2008 17:18

hi McDreamy, welcome back. I just got back to the UK last week, its lovely isn't it? (are you McDreamy or Wallaroo????)
just checking that the curry is still on for Thursday? Have bullied/persuaded DS to babysit so I can escape! Are you near London McD?

Wallaroo · 24/11/2008 17:19

I am Walleroo now as I cancelled my registration so O can't get my name back Not far from London - I'm near Aylesbury.

dinkystinky · 24/11/2008 17:21

Welcome back Wallaroo - missing the sun of Cyprus?

Markstretch - sounds like the kind of anxiety dream we all get! Pinktulips - my MIL was telling me about her time in the ward when she had DH and it sounds like the teenager grandmother of that girl you were opposite in the ward was in there with her - she had to wake her up to explain that her baby was crying because it was hungry.

Wallaroo · 24/11/2008 17:23

Well I would say yes dinky but DH is still out there and it's a bit chilly at the moment so not much sun to miss although I'll bet it's a damn sight warmer than here on the positive side at least I have central heating here, I'm not looking forward to our first bill though!!!!!!!!

dinkystinky · 24/11/2008 17:23

Yup - Thursday curry still on. London mums coming to it - you can email me (putting in your MN name in the title please) on mush23 at yahoo dot com and will email you my mobile no so you can let me know on the day if you have to cancel/are running late etc.

mrsy · 24/11/2008 17:25

eeeeeew MS you're gross.

I don't think I want stuff coming out of my bobbs...
