Oh Trib, that sounds horrible. Your poor DH. Things must be very tough for you too.

Could you hire a cross-trainer? I'm sure I've seen somewhere that you can hire gym equipment.

teabelly · 15/03/2005 09:52

Ooh Mrs W good point about the going home clothes - I left this to dh last time - big mistake, ha ha ha!

welshmum · 15/03/2005 09:55

trib you sound like you have a lot to cope with in your house, hope your DH's condition improves.
Teabelly, how exactly do you kill your plants - too much attention or neglect or something more suspicious?

Morning everyone, just been reading through, and it's brought back a few memories! It's so funny reading about disposable pants, just can't stand the thought of rustling down the corridors. Big pants from m & s a definate good buy.
Back at work now, as the b!?"rds have backed off, after a sharp reminder of the rights of part time and pregnant women! Victory for the small woman! Or not, in my case (smile)

Franni great news - so have they 'delayed' the redundancy or retracted it??

Welshie - ha ha ha it's a combination of too much love and attention and then completely forgetting about them for a few weeks - I can almost feel the plants shudder when I pick them up in the shop, as if they know I'm no good with them

KVG - I wasn't flashed at, I was the flasher - allbeit not of my own accord - just a helping hand from my loveable ds (I posted first thing yesterday on thread 10, before this one started). Nothing like abit of accute embarrassment to help proceedings along eh!

teabelly · 15/03/2005 10:18

Trib - just read your link - your poor dh, sounds awful, can fully appreciate how living on top floor of flats is not the best thing. So I presume it's an auto-immune illness - has he always had it or did it develop more recently after a big event?? Sorry for the questions you don't have to answer poppet.

hey- just caught up with the new thread

'fraid I'm not feeling full of the joys of spring today - actually paper knickers pretty much sums it up

am absolutely exhausted! didn't get much sleep plus Dh returns from long trip ill, MIL gets bronchitis and Dd is ill also. Felt dreadful mother as have to be in work today - deadlines

not even thinking about hospital bag yet - plus I'm planning a home birth so am completely lazy about it anyway. Last time had a few bits shoved somewhere just in case....

got my first midwife appt today. On the phone she sounds like a dragon but will see. She's meant to be the one who delivers me but there's no guarantees of that on the NHS!

uwila · 15/03/2005 10:27

Oh good, Franni. Is it true? Is you employment extended?

Oh sad, Trib. That must be so hard to live with -- for both of you (or should I say all three of you). Will his condition progress and worsen? Or will it remain as it is now? Oh gosh, it makes me think all the complaining I do on here is soooo selfish.

Speaking of my problems, I dressed DD again today... just for fun.

uwila · 15/03/2005 10:30

Almost forgot, Trib.

Sending good vibes for bro...

teabelly · 15/03/2005 10:35

Uwila - and why not, it's the little things eh!

Red - I can sympathise, ds has a terrible cough, and mines not better - currently sounding like a 50 a day smoker with a hacking cough nice - but deadlines aen't very compassionate are they Hope your dh & dd are better soon.

MrsWednesday · 15/03/2005 10:35

Good news Franniban! Hopefully your work will now let you post on here in peace until maternity leave starts.

I left packing my bag until the very last minute. Finished it in the afternoon and my waters broke that night.

I didn't bother with paper knickers, just my usual old knackered ones .

Teabelly, I think your DS and my DS would get on great - he likes pulling my top down at the moment to look at my 'boobies'. He has been known to pull my top up too, but only to hit my belly...I can see this baby is going to be made to feel very welcome.

Inspired by JonahB, I've just counted up how many days I've got left at work...29!!! When's everyone finishing? I'm going to stop on 5th May.

redheadmum · 15/03/2005 10:40

thanks tea!

talking of boobs ed...my Dd keeps putting her hand down my top and saying big nipples mummy. Hmm....so far only in the privacy of our home but full clarity and volume will be saved for family visitation/restaurant/supermarket setting I'm sure

maternity leave - for me end of may (but due end of June so...) would like to go now! Have no motivation to do end of year reports - it's all a blur that doesn't say BABY.

Lua · 15/03/2005 10:51

Morning everyone!
Feeling the blues again... it must be the weather...
Tea, Red hope your Lo's get better soon!
BTW redheadmum thanks for sharing about your DD's interest on your boobs. My dd is fascinated with mine! and I'm always wondering if there is something wrong with her....

Trib, wishing your brother lots of luck!!!

Mrs W - you could be right there about the boys - I've had the boobie flashing thing too in the past, hmmm yet he never tries to show his father's nether regions whilst loudly exclaiming 'winky'...will have to get him practicing, afterall share and share alike, he he he!

Red - year end - so are you in accounts?? I'm an accounts bod, and am having great fun with the auditors at the moment...we've affectionately named the 'group' leader Jabba (al la 'the hut') on account of him being very short, very round and incomprehensible

JonahB · 15/03/2005 10:55

Hi All,

Trib, lots of good vibes for your bro are coming your way.... Sorry to hear about your poor DH, makes me feel v. selfish for winging about the odd hip twinge

KVG - my DH is terrified of the whole birth thing, without the added pressure of picking up a book. People keep telling us that the female forgets the horror of childbirth in a haze of hormones and drugs, but the DH isn't so lucky. He is protective at the best of times, so I dont think he'll cope too well seeing me in pain. Not, i might add, that my sympathies are huge. Who's giving birth anyway??

Tea I have motivation whatsoever.Mrs Wed, I am so jealous of you finishing on 5th, i've got until 13th (3 weeks before due date). Off to eat choc cake again.....

MrsWednesday · 15/03/2005 10:57

Redheadmum, I'm glad it's not only my child that's boob-obsessed. Forgot to offer commiserations for your poorly family earlier. Hope they all recover soon - they need to be looking after YOU not the other way round!

teabelly · 15/03/2005 10:59

Ooh just been counting up and bearing in mind I do 3 days, have 2 bank holidays and 2 annual leave days...I have a grand total of 19 working days left hurrah!! My last day is wed 4th May, and I don't go back til January 4th 2006!!! I suddenly feel all happy - thanks girls

redheadmum · 15/03/2005 11:04

yes, must confess that dd is STILL boob obsessed...she used to twiddle with my nipples incesantly til I put a firm stop to it. Have never been able to replace with cuddly toy etc (look at this lovely hippo etc was met with baleful stare and more attempts at twiddling me..) When the world is all too much a little hand is thrust down my top....I've always put it down to breastfeeding her for so long...? not sure how she'll take to no 2 taking over 'her' breasts..

thanks for all the cheery messages - feeling much better. Will be downing some choc in a bit too to get a sugar rush...just to put the MW in a panic

tea - no not in accounts. Work in policy, but have to do end of year reports, beg of year workplans. All v boring and tedious. Should be doing it now....!

redheadmum · 15/03/2005 11:05

ps will be taking my full year off...though of course it's not all paid

MrsWednesday · 15/03/2005 11:16

I'll be going back the same time as you Teabelly, beginning of January. Well, that's the plan anyway.

welshmum · 15/03/2005 11:38

I think I'm going to finish the same week as you TB but on the Friday. I just got in a tiz when I realised I was one week further along than I thought - 29 weeks on Saturday!!!Bloody hell!
I can't decide whether to come back for a couple of weeks before Christmas just to see what it's like.....even writing it out makes it seem like a bad idea.
Dd is mostly fixated on my tummy - it has to have alot of attention. She lifted up her own top today and I realised with a sentimental pang that her toddler tummy had gone now and she was turning into a leaner little girl....sob...sob...my baby etc etc
