i have the utmost respect for you barbarella - if i had three babies in there, i would be constantly a nervous wreck - not that i think there is any reason to be - just that with one, when you feel it moving, you know its fine - with three, I dont know if you can feel three separate movements or if its just a general movement feeling.

I imagine you get more close monitoring too though? so hopefully that will help to reassure you as things go on.

electra - i have two isabella oliver tops that dh bought me for my birthday, but havent worn them yet as I dont feel I have a proper bump yet - maybe the jackets would be different though. Havent really thought about a winter coat yet. hmm. maybe something else i can waste time on today other than being constantly on mn

gingersarah · 06/11/2008 14:01

Thanks electra, bubbaluv, conkertree and babybolat for stuff about buggies.
I think I will have to borrow a baby for a weekend and try that out, let alone the pushchair.

mrsfossil · 06/11/2008 14:44

Hi all thanks for all the words od support I feel better today and theres been no more blood. If i sit down really relaxed then i can now feel the baby wriggling about which is reasuring.

Barbarella I don't think you're mental at all it would seem very odd if you weren't bothered about how your babies were doing. Its so good to hear the heart beat. But it won't be long before you will feel the babies giving you a jab and a kick.

tristaleejac · 06/11/2008 21:22

Hi everyone, how are you all?
mrsfossil - glad you're feeling better now it must have been awful.
barbarella - you're totally normal, we all do crazy amounts of worrying, it's such a huge responsibility, growing tiny people. You're doing so well carrying 3.
Well the bonfire last night was ok. The ear defenders worked amazingly well and there was no freaking out at the noise! Was very happy there.
One thing put a big dampener on the evening. The neighbour's son has a new girlfriend who is very newly pregnant. I'd never met her before until last night when he proudly introduced me to this giggly teenager who could hardly stand up she was so drunk I just didn't know where to look! Even if I wasn't pregnant I'd find this shocking, but the fact I'm pregnant too just made me feel so annoyed and hurt at what she's doing to her unborn child. I know I shouldn't interfere but it really ruined my evening.
It was also horrible because the last time we had a bonfire/piss up in the garden was for my birthday in July. AKA conception date. Me and partner were so happy that night, and for a long time before that. Can't believe I'm on my own now. Last night just brought it all back.
Sorry to offload on you all but I'm just feeling awful today. I think I need to go and have a good cry and get it out of my system.

mathsmummy27 · 06/11/2008 21:25

tristaleejac that must have been so hard for you - both the drunk pregnant teenager and the memories..do let it out but don't feel alone - you have a lovely little one with you always

ToastnHoney · 06/11/2008 21:53

Hi all

Like Cosmo, have managed the odd lurk recently but not checked in for ages. Hope everyone's well. Babybolat, just saw your news, really sorry and hope things are as ok as they can be.

My baby is doing lots of prodding and nudging. Funny though it seems to vary a lot day by day. Monday felt like movement every 5 mins, but Tuesday there was hardly anything. Anyone else have this? I'm 18+5 now.

My bump is still really fairly small but it's not stopping me from over-wearing my fab New Look over-the-bump maternity work trousers. These things are soooo comfy I may never go back to normal trousers again!

ToastnHoney · 06/11/2008 21:55

Tristal - sorry didn't see your thread before posting mine or I'd have said, sorry you're feeling down. Can't believe it about the teenager, that is outrageous

BoffinMum · 06/11/2008 22:07

Hello ladies. BoffinMum here, due 2 April with fourth dc. Big bump. Rapidly becoming unable to walk due to pelvis separating at front. Really quite unhappy about this and wondering how the hell I am going to cope with three other kids and a f/t job if this carries on. Physio has given me maternity belt to help, but still eye wateringly painful every time I get up out of chair!

conkertree · 07/11/2008 06:19

mrsfossil - thats great that there's no more blood - keep taking it easy though. Good excuse to curl up on the sofa and relax.

tristaleejac - shame that the bonfire was spoiled for you - dont know what i'd have said in those circumstances. guess you cant force people to change their behaviour, but its so horrible to have to watch.

i dont know what to say about your dp - its hard to put together the full picture, but i have seen some of your posts on other threads, and it seems like you still have strong feelings for him, so i'm for you that it hasnt worked out. sorry if i am being nosey, but is it definite that you wont be together in the future, or are you going to see whether he's changed once the baby arrives? I hope a good cry helped, and that you are happier today.

toastnhoney - i dont have really strong movements yet but the flutterings are certainly very dependent on what i'm doing - probably just cant feel them when i'm busier.

i cant wait to fit my proper mat clothes - they were sooo comfy last time (my favourite thing for very late on was my pg dungarees - wouldnt ever wear them normally so i love what you can get away with when pg).

Hi Boffinmum - sounds like you have your hands full. Sorry to hear about the pelvis - I am having similar problems since I had a very energetic 7 mile walk on Tuesday - pelvis very sore at front stopping me sleeping (hence the 6am posting) and hips were very sore in bed last night. Hoping its not the start of spd or pgp as it seems to be called now, but looks like it might go that way, so lots of sympathy for you - sounds very painful.

Off to see my grandparents today for the weekend, so hope you all have a nice weekend and I will try and catch up on Sunday/Monday.

Hi to BoffinMum. Wow, you must be super organised, I thought I was clever for coping with p/t work (albeit from home) and one child. Hats off to you.

Trista, what did your neighbours make of the antics of the girl carrying their grandchild? Let's hope motherhood makes her grow up.

Good morning everyone else, I hope everybody is feeling well today. It's the weekend!!!!

OP posts:
Swaliswan · 07/11/2008 09:52

Just quickly popping in before I go and order my tents maternity uniforms from work.

Conkertree I'm a health care assistant in a dermatology day unit. I mainly do two things - running outpatient clinics and assisting in theatre for skin surgery. I'm on my feet all day and that won't change no matter how big I get!

LuLuBai · 07/11/2008 09:52

ha ha ha - I feel like I've got my hands full just looking after one toddler and not working at all!

bronze · 07/11/2008 11:16

I guess I can out myself now.
I've been posting as Gawain as my inlaws didnt know but we've told them now.
I still feel sick and havent posted even as Gawain because I find the effort of changing name too much (how lazy?). Now of course I can post as me I will start to post more.
I really must go back and read all your posts. I may be here a while.

Hiya.
puzzle - they didn't say anything as they are newly together, baby is someone else's. They were shocked but she was quite mouthy already so nobody said anything for fear of getting a slap! Little shite!
conkertree - I do still have feelings for X, it was his decision to have drugs instead of my and a family. I would love it if he came to me and said he was totally off them now and wanted to be a responsible parent and DP. I just don't see it happening. I don't know if I could let him back after his aggression towards me and in front of DS. Surely once he has spoken to me in such a way, means he will always be inclined to do so? Unfortunately, regardless of how much I feel for him as a person, when it comes to us being together we just don't seem to work. It's just such a shame it took 2 years and now a pregnancy to see this other side to him.

Ok everyone, sorry to be depressing. Just find it hard every now and then.
On a lighter note, my bump has grown enormously over last 2 days, there's no hiding the fact I'm pg now!
Midwife is ringing later on to give me appointment for 20 week scan, that'll be great.
I felt baby move loads last night when I went to bed. It was very light and fluttery because of anterior placenta, but definately baby
Hope you're all having a nice day so far.

Swaliswan · 07/11/2008 12:30

I can't believe it. I've just looked out of the window and the second I looked out, it suddenly started tipping with rain. The sky isn't even that dark. Typical. DD has to be picked up from nursery by 1pm

LuLuBai · 07/11/2008 14:07

Sorry Swaliswan - sunny here. But I bet it will tip down with rain the moment my nappies are ready to come out of the washing machine. Kicking myself for not loading the machine last night so that they could have enjoyed a whole day in the sun.

Tristaleejac - I think I would have had a hard job restraining myself from slapping that stupid girl myself!

And don't worry - you will be just fine. And maybe one day your ex will come to his senses but in the meantime you are doing the best thing for your kids.

OddEyes · 07/11/2008 14:32

Hey everyone,

I feeling alot better and not wetting myself anymore - hurrah!

Mrs fossil - glad to hear scare over. glad to hear baby reassuring you

Boffin - ouch! hope the physio able to help you out more and work understanding, hardest thing is the kids though - are they old enough to understand mummy hurts? Hope your scan helps you feel it is worth it.

trista - sorry for your situation, glad to hear you can feel baby now - hope this brings lots of smiles.

Gawain/bronze - welcome back.

Washing - yes, must get it on the line - bye!

Oddeyes 18+2

LuLuBai · 07/11/2008 14:41

Washing machine is now on the end of the spin cycle and sure enough some mean, dark and dirty clouds are just rolling in.

Drat!

BoffinMum · 07/11/2008 21:31

Yes I am a Boffin and do lots of educashun edikashin- education stuff, amongst other things.

Happy to announce lovely, lovely physio has loaned me a great belt thingy that seems to be holding my insides in place sufficiently to allow me to walk. Quite impressed with it actually. Only got stuck mid-stride once today.

PuzzleRocks · 07/11/2008 21:34

Aah, i've just had a nosey at your profile. I see you are a lecturer.
Glad to hear the physio helped.

oooh BoffinMum you are my due date twin (at last!) AND I'm a boffin too
My area is mathematics (obviously..) what is yours?

BoffinMum · 08/11/2008 21:28

More good news as well, PuzzleRocks! After most of a day bedbound in pain, went to Chiropractor this afternoon and he spent an hour diagnosing, and five minutes fiddling about. I shuffled in there doing my usual knock kneed waddle with my eyes watering, and (almost) strode out feeling almost like a new woman! I managed to cook this evening! And pick up Lego from the living room floor! And walk over to answer the phone without hurting myself!!

PuzzleRocks · 08/11/2008 21:34

Glad to hear it BoffinMum, you must be so relieved.
