argh just re-read, good luck AJM - hope homebirth works out hun!

star6 · 16/10/2008 23:19

Good luck ajm!

ajm200 · 17/10/2008 00:09

MW has had an awful night on the ward. She's decided that I'm coping well and may still be a while so has gone home for some sleep. She only lives 10 mins walk away so can be here in a hurry. Hope she's wrong as these are 3 mins apart, to strong to walk or talk through and I have the tens on 5 already.

Off to get a bath, relax and then lay on the sofa and try to nod off.. don't think sleep is likely though.

star6 · 17/10/2008 03:31

exciting!! I'm thinking of you durng our 3am feed. I hope you are feeding your precious LO too.

star6 · 17/10/2008 03:33

And you were nice to let her go rest...dont think i would have with cntx 3 min apart

star6 · 17/10/2008 07:18

Baby yet, ajm? so excited for the news!

CantSleepWontSleep · 17/10/2008 08:01

bigmouthstrikesagain · 17/10/2008 08:07

Hope Ajm is having a lovely homebirth right now... I am hoping for one as well.

As I am officially 1 day overdue today I am getting a tad impatient and having regular mild contractions for the last 12 hours has not helped as I am tired and impatient and not sure if dh should go to work or not - I want him to stay - but feel guilty keeping him here if I don't go into proper labour - arrrgh.

nuclear · 17/10/2008 09:32

morning all ... gosh it all got going last night didn't it?

will be checking in on and off all day.

think i set the world record for wees last night - feel exhausted today.

Good luck everyone who is busy labouring and sending birthy thgoughts to those who are getting impatient ...

heather1980 · 17/10/2008 10:12

well after i posted yesterday, i went to bed for a nap. woke up about 5:45 with the most almighty pain, called mw back as i wanted some g&a, she got here at 6:15 by which time pains were on top of each other and i'm 8cm dilated! and at 8:24 baby was here! baby boy (no name yet) weighing a healthy 9lb 5oz and 58cm long, small tear but nothing to worry about.

star6 · 17/10/2008 10:17

Congratulations heather1980! Does that mean you slept through initial contractions? I thought those were so painful!

ronshar · 17/10/2008 10:21

How fantastic all the babies are coming along thick and fast.
Well done to the ladies who delivered yesterday.

I was in the middle of posting yesterday morning and bloody laptop died. Proper collapse. Anyhow.

Popsy had her little minipops. 15th October, 10.52pm. Stella Frances, 8lbs 14oz. Mum doing really well. A very proud Mum and Dad..

Congratulations to everyone who has given birth!

AJM - hope all is going well.

I gave birth to ds at home in the birthing pool on monday morning 13 October. All is fine, ds is gorgeous, a healthy 8 and a half pounds and breastfeeding well.

I lost a lot of blood afterwards and have to take it easy for a little while - quite how I'll do that with three children I don't know! DH is being great and dd1 and dd2 are very happy with their baby brother.

Good luck all of you who are still waiting.

rach010 · 17/10/2008 11:09

Hi

just popping in to let you all know i had a beautiful baby girl on monday 13th october at 8.22pm, she weighed 6lb 11oz, no name yet.
Had ok birth just gas n air, small tear & no stitches.

Congrats to all who have there babies while i have been off MN.

Fingers crossed for you ladies in waiting.

belgo · 17/10/2008 11:10

congratulations Rach, same birth date as my ds

Honeymoonmummy · 17/10/2008 11:22

Hi all, I havent time to catch up but congrats to all!
I've just been for my 38 week appt and the midwife told me the baby is right in the pelvis and couldnt go any further down, but then wrote on my notes "3/5 palp" - wouldnt she be 5/5 engaged???

Rhian82 · 17/10/2008 11:23

I'm going to be soon! Waters broke last night, but my contractions are still really mild and irregular. The midwife came out and examined me (I'm having a home birth), and just told me to call them when my contractions were five minutes apart for about two hours, or if I had any concerns. Oh, and she told me not to have sex - because that's exactly what I was going to do to pass the time, with a huge bump and amniotic fluid leaking out of me!

He's a little early (due date was 27th) so it's a bit of a shock (this is our first as well!), but now I just want my contractions to hurry up and get going so I can meet him!

ajm200 · 17/10/2008 11:28

Just a quick note to let you know that Amelia Caitlyn was born at home at 8.15 this morning after 2 days of latent and 12 hours of stop/start active labour. She weighs 7lb 2oz

Good luck to Rhian, sorry way to tired to read the rest of the thread but will catch up as soon as I can.

emkay · 17/10/2008 11:31

Congratulations to all those who've had babies this week! AJM - hope it's going well for you.

Nothing doing here - pepper I'm thinking of you too. Look at all these ladies leapfrogging us! What's going on!?

Going for acupuncture this afternoon to see if that helps, trying lots of power walking too...

emkay · 17/10/2008 11:32

Cross post AJM - many, many congratulations!

Honeymoonmummy · 17/10/2008 11:33

Congrats AJM!

SmudgeyDoodle · 17/10/2008 11:46

Congrats to AJM, Heather, Popsy, Belgo, Rach and hope things are going well Rhian. No sign of anything really happening here but have real pain walking and DS wants to be carried lots at the moment. He's in bed at the moment and I'm weighing up the pros and cons of going to playgroup - free entertainment vs 2 mile walk (round trip)
Can't believe how many people are having home births. When I talked to MW about our car, she did say "Have you considered a homebirth" but I think she was joking!. Good news on the car front that we've found someone local to do it and we should have it back by next Friday (2 days after due date!)

bigmouthstrikesagain · 17/10/2008 11:47

Congrats ajm, belgo, rach - I have a feeling I am going to be waiting a while longer for my labour to start. Good luck Rhian
