mum2jakeyroo · 16/10/2008 17:39

Hi all. Congrats to all who have their babys. Will try and catch up on thread in a min. Came out of hospital yesterday afternoon and baby is doing great. We have still not decided on a name though!! Will try and do my birth story when other 2 dc are in bed. Nice to back on mumsnet. Thanks for everyones advice on Monday. I still can't believe he is here. And he is so good (for the minute anyway)

Congratulations Rowanmc

I can't wait to have my LO here

CantSleepWontSleep · 16/10/2008 18:34

Congratulations rowanmac. Glad to hear that I was totally wrong about the likelihood of them agreeing to ARM!

ajm200 · 16/10/2008 18:37

Congratulations Rowanmac! What a fast delivery after such a long wait. Well done.

emkay · 16/10/2008 18:43

Congratulations rowanmac and well done!

Nothing happening here either - went in today to discuss plans for induction and had another sweep. Still 3cm dilated but that's been the case for days now. Have to go in on Monday for another sweep, get the lychal fluid levels checked to see if I'm suitable for admission as an outpatient on Wednesday to have prostaglandin induction... then if that doesn't work I'm in on Thursday for everything else that they can throw at me. All a lot to take in but still really hoping things get going naturally before then.

Maybe babe realises we haven't decided on any names yet and is holding fire until we do!

jenwa · 16/10/2008 19:12

Congrats rownamac Glad all went well.

YumMum22 · 16/10/2008 19:26

hey everyone ang congrats to all those whove had their babies..

3days overdue today for me and really cant wait for this baby to pop out..have been having lots of pressure and lots of pain but i dont think its labour quite yet. midwife coming over tomorrow to do a sweep but not sure if ill agree to it yet.

ajm200 · 16/10/2008 19:50

Maybe aerobics videos are the way to go... been getting contractions at about 7 mins since 7pm. Have put the tens machine on as I need to get the pool setup and get DS off to my friends. Just need a midwife to confirm now...

bigmouthstrikesagain · 16/10/2008 19:57

Good Evening everyone - congratulations to all the ladies with their babies out.

I am due today but despite lots of tightening back pain and heaviness in groin I am not convinced that she will arrive before midnight!

Midwife appt went ok and baby is 3/5 engaged and in proper position so all my bouncing on the birthing ball is making some difference! Both prev babies were back to back and that hurt so I am hoping for an easier delivery and another homebirth. Fingers crossed it is soon though I am quite done with being pregnant now and hate asking dh to put my socks on for me! Good vibes to all who are feeling like they are about to go into labour.

Annoyingly thrush has come back with a vengence so I am faced with using pessaries I feel wierd about that with the baby being so close but the mw was quite insistant and the cream doesn't seem to sort it so I will be a big girl and use them - lovely

Off for another pot of delicious raspberry leaf tea (ick).

usuallytooshytochat · 16/10/2008 19:58

Hello again
Since posting on Mon eve, life has been too much of a rollercoaster to keep up with anything, let alone get 5 mins to myself to mn.
Thanks for all the advice, which I've just read and would have helped me calm down if I'd had time to see it before
Just had to concentrate on building up my milk supply as dd was looking a bit dehydrated. ds1 was admitted into hosp after loosing over a 1/3 of his body weight in 6 days, so dp and I were both really anxious to get the bf established right this time. So extra expressing and topping up in between feeds until last night. And dd weighed in today at 3.6kg, only 100g less than birth weight, and having put on 100g since tuesday when she was 3.5kg iyswim. I'm probably rambling again, sorry. Longing to read back over the last 6 pages and see who's had babes and how everyone who has is getting on with them. But now I need to eat, then bf. There's just not enough time in the day with a baby and a toddler - it's definately a

Ekka · 16/10/2008 20:18

Congrats Rowanmac! I'm a bit jealous of all these babies arriving, but still 2 weeks to go (in theory)....

Good luck ajm - lets hope this is it for you!

Our birthpool arrived last night and we put it together about midnight, so I spent a panicked night, worrying that I might go into labour, and have a completely useless, empty birthpool. Luckily baby held off and the pool is now full - I just have to keep my legs crossed till the water gets to the right temperature .

Had a mw appt today and she said that baby's head appears to be very low down and that baby appears to be a reasonable size (which means what exactly?!?!?!) so I'm now at the stage of just waiting to see when baby decides to appear. My mum is coming tomorrow, which is a good thing as I can barely hobble along at the moment and feel as if I'm coming apart at the joints

ajm200 · 16/10/2008 20:21

Anyone have a birthpool in a box and can tell me what the white rubber mesh sheet is?

Flum · 16/10/2008 21:19

Erm noooooo. Could it be to stop you slipping around? or to scoop birthing goo out with? How r the contractions? Could tonight be the night.

Congrats and welcome to new babies!

ajm200 · 16/10/2008 21:23

MW confirmed its all happening. Bag of waters bulging and will go anytime now.. I'll update when she's here.

CantSleepWontSleep · 16/10/2008 21:28

Off to bed in a tick, so good luck if tonight's the night ajm.

ajm200 · 16/10/2008 21:42

Meaning the baby not the MW...

jenwa · 16/10/2008 22:11

ajm thought you were being optamistic about being on mumsnet whilst in labour with the midwife by your side! You could however get the MW on here on your behalf

ajm200 · 16/10/2008 22:17

Glad I'm having a homebirth. The labour ward is chaos tonight. They are looking after 5 ladies each and have both on-call CMWs there and supervisors delivering babies. She's checked me out and gone back to help out. That suits me fine. I'm all on my own now... lights down low, very relaxed. Down to 4 mins apart but very little pain... guess it won't last though

Flum · 16/10/2008 22:35

Good luck AJM. Look forward to birth news in the morning. Had my bubble bath am clean and fresh incase tonight is my night. Am naked surfing and looking at my big round bump. I will miss it. This is my last baby, only 3rd but makes me feel a bit nostalgic - like I'm moving into a new era. I think the whole economic crisis is focusing the mind too. Big changes are afoot!
