ajm200 · 15/10/2008 04:03

Flum.. sorry, went to bed about 11 but didn't sleep.

Back up now.. backache is awful and constant. Not coming and going as I would expect with contractions. Loads of dark red shows and spotting so something is happening just don't know what. This isn't going to happen fast. Not even sure I'm in labour only taking the MWs word for it. Not sure why I would have back labour as baby isn't back to back.. Going to nap for a while on the sofa

Sending DH to work in the morning as he is as useless as I remember from last time. When MW left he asked me to make him a cuppa and dozed off on the sofa. Then brought DS down to play at 22:30. Just what we needed to add to the confusion, an exhausted toddler.

star6 · 15/10/2008 04:03

oooog ajm!! i hope you are haveng your baby right now! AT LAST!

star6 · 15/10/2008 04:04

ooooh and having meant to type... and x posted!

ajm200 · 15/10/2008 04:23

Star I still think it's another false alarm. Guess you are up BFing. How is it going, any improvement or are you still suffering?

star6 · 15/10/2008 07:29

Sorry to hear that ajm. Yes, was up bfing. then computer froze. getting a bit easier, yes... but still hurts to use a towel after shower...etc. or let water run on nipples. painful!

star6 · 15/10/2008 07:38

what does OH mean? I understand DH...

Aubergenie · 15/10/2008 07:41

Morning - I'm afraid I've lost track of those people I've congratulated on their new babies, so if I've missed anyone, congratulations.

ajm - How are things going? It's was all sounding very promising last night (but we keep saying that, don't we!).

Star - I'm really glad the bfing is getting a bit better. Are you feeling better in yourself? It's so hard with a new baby isn't it? Stanley won't sleep in his moses basket at night and just wants to be held, so we've been doing night shifts taking it in turn to hold him. The night before last he didn't go down until 7 am. the day before that, 5.30. There were tears all round and I was feeling really desperate and dreading night time more and more. I've finally finished my BP medication and took him into bed with me last night (DP slept on sofa) and had a fantastic relaxing night. BF him lying down and dozing and I feel about a thousand times better today. I hope you do too.

ajm200 · 15/10/2008 08:22

Hi Ladies, glad it is getting better Star.

Still spotting/having shows every time I go to the loo Still have awful backache that is making walking a bit of a challenge and now have an upset tummy. Guess it's just building up slowly.

DH reminded me that with DS I had a constant strong backache that was put down to the SPD and no real contractions, just a bit of pressure from time to time until transition when they gave me an EPI for my BP so maybe this is the way I labour.

Good news last night was my BP was only 119/70 so no worries there any more. DH has gone now and I'm on my own with DS so might be calling on you all for support if it gets worse...

star6 · 15/10/2008 08:44

Thanks!! I was sitting here thinking, 'h is for husband.... so what begins with "o"?' oh the things I came up with

ajm I'm going to come take taht baby out myself! This is too much suspense! I'm sure it's a bit worse for you...

ajm200 · 15/10/2008 08:49

It'll be a while yet.. The MW said back labour is really slow so it might not be here until end of the week

nuclear · 15/10/2008 08:59

AJM - was thinking of you all last night - sending good vibes... it sounds like you are at least going in the right direction !!!

Don't know what has happened to my body but it seems to have completely lost the plot.

Woke up at 1 this morning with piles that really hurt and seem to have come out of nowhere

Going to see mW today for antenatal and hoping she will give me some good news about position etc.

Any recommendations for extra strength pile cream? Can the MW prescribe something.. ?

At home all day apart from that appt so will be lurking and checking

ajm200 · 15/10/2008 09:08

Nuclear. Not sure which cream would be best, but some of the others are suffering too and can probably recommend something.. Rubbing them with a slice of lemon can help to shrink them but might sting a bit. Witch hazel can help too. Other than that, up your fluid and fibre intake so that they don't get worse. Not much you can do until after the baby is born as they can appear in labour too.

star6 · 15/10/2008 09:27

I got piles just before labour... and never had them before in my life! agonizing! anyway, i was given anusol. This was crap. but anusol PLUS was a godsend. shrunk them in no time!!

nuclear · 15/10/2008 09:38

thanks star i want something hardcore !!

star6 · 15/10/2008 09:43

it works well. The MW recommended it to me - but it was after Quinlan was born. So I'm not sure if you can use while still pregnant or not - maybe just ask the MW if you can. Preparation H is soothing/cooling, but doesn't shrink them (and is safe in pg).

jenwa · 15/10/2008 09:57

star the lanason (cant remember how to spell it) cream for nipples is fab and you can use it before showering as it puts a protecitve film over them. It was fab for me last time.

Congrats to mum2jakeroo and tedmundo I am so pleased you have your babies. I wish mine would come soon!

fab story m2jr , i would love DH to deliver my baby but think he wouyld not be too happy!

So achey now, achey groin and baby keeps sitting on ligaments so getting sharp shooting pains. Really wanted to have a sort on weekend and told DH that I wanted to tidy shed etc and he said well youwill be able to in a month not the answer I wanted! Was looking more for him suggessting he did it

Well DD at PG, feel really sorry for her as sent her with a banana yesterday and she told me she never had a snack and I told her she had anyway dropped her this am and they told me they had found her bannana later on and she never had had it i just have this image of her sitting there watching everyone eating there snack and wondering why she has not got on . Poor thing, why shse never said anything to them. Apparntly she just went up and said she never wanted a drink but they get it after their snack so maybe she thought they wouold realise!!! Think I am emotional at the moment as it really made me feel for her!

Going to take it easier this am, was going to hoover but the walk back from playgroup has killed me!

4andnotout · 15/10/2008 11:18

Morning all
Have just got back from my midwife appointment and everything is fine even if i feel like crap!
Baby is 2/5 in relation to brim which is better than i thought it would be, my bp is only 100/50 so it might explain why i have felt a bit crappy!
Had a good chat with the mw about bf support as i haven't fed any of the others for more than a few days and i really want to give it a proper go this time.

SmudgeyDoodle · 15/10/2008 12:01

Hi ladies. Rowanmac - I hope things have started for you. AJM you're not allowed to get too much of a headstart because I'm due the same day as you. Congratulations to Tedmundo and Mum2JR. Hope you heal quickly Tedmundo and hope DH recovers soon Mum2JR.
Wherestheaupair - have you found the clothes? I unearthed another box of 0-3 after I thought I didn't have very much. Aubergenie, glad that you got a better night. I remember a few nights of not being able to put DS down but they did pass!
Hope you are feeling better Pepper. Glad you had a good chat with MW 4andnotout. I did too yesterday. Baby 4/5 engaged and "hunkered down" so hoping wont' be too long. Saying that, car needs a new engine which we aren't sure whether it's worth doing so we are in a bit of a pickle. Phoned a taxi to company to check that they will take me in labour and sounds promising. Now just have to remember to get some money out for the taxi and not spend it.

nuclear · 15/10/2008 12:09

How are you doing AJM? Smudgey I am due on the same day as you as well ... let's hope we haven't got too much longer to wait....

rowanmac · 15/10/2008 12:11

Nothing doing here, been awake since 3.30. MW said she would come back at 6, nothing doing by 8 so thought I'd better let them know I had been sick and had headache, office full of MW all looked at me like I was daft, 'but we do checks after breakfast' So now they've decided I'm difficult. Personally I would have thought as I'm in for BP monitoring they should do it more than 12 hourly.

Anyhow not for induction today but to stay in. Still have headache and baby showing no sign of action at all .

Was hoping for news from ajm and pepperabbit.

nuclear · 15/10/2008 12:19

rowanmac - hang on in there ... what are you doing to keep yourself busy in hospital?

pepperrabbit · 15/10/2008 12:34

Afternoon all, nothing doing here at all, but had 5 hours sleep last night so feeling heaps better in myself.
rowanmac they don't sound very sympathetic at your hospital! Hope you are feeling OK.
We're off to my hospital appt this afternoon, hope to get an induction date if nothing else.
hope you're doing ok ajm and are you still around emkay???.
5 days late now, tsk tsk bored. Have almost gone off the idea of having a baby , may move on to Christmas shopping as a project next!

ajm200 · 15/10/2008 12:39

No baby here yet.. still waiting. The pains are now in my back and tummy but aren't regular enough to time.

Got a scan booked this afternoon so will be off to the hospital around 3. Maybe they can check what is going on and I'll have an update for you all by then.

pepperrabbit · 15/10/2008 12:42

ajm Are you taking your bags, in a hopeful/just in case way?
We're tempted to in case I collapse in hysterical tears and they decide it's not safe for the general public to let me out.... .
