Honeymoonmummy · 14/10/2008 19:42

Gosh, I admire your committment to mumsnet rowanmac, logging in from hospital! Good luck!

I'm just finishing off my birth plan. Is there any reason why I would say no to vitamin K?

ajm200 · 14/10/2008 19:46

Good luck rowanmac and congratulations tedmundo!

ajm200 · 14/10/2008 19:47

I've started spotting, very light. Hoping its a good sign. Should I call the hospital or wait and see if I get contractions first?

Honeymoonmummy · 14/10/2008 19:55

God, I actually have the chance to give you advice instead of the other way round AJM!!! And I dont know what to say!! If it was me, I'd probably give them a quick call, its only a phone call...

ajm200 · 14/10/2008 19:58

Thanks Honeymoonmummy, that just what I did. They told me that its probably a show but as theres no mucus with it they are going to get the oncall CMW to call me back as I'm booked for a HB.

Have a really bad back but no contractions so guess they'll just say wait and see

Honeymoonmummy · 14/10/2008 20:03

I gave the right advice

Keep us informed how you get on!

ajm200 · 14/10/2008 20:12

OK.. MW coming out in an hour or so to check baby's position as they don't want a surprise breech birth. She thinks my non-stop backache might be the start of things..
Bet it isn't

ajm200 · 14/10/2008 20:25

Honeymoonmummy
There was a big discussion on it on here a recently. We are going to give it to this one and had it given to DS. There are two options, oral or injection. We went for injection and i'm glad we did as DS was a very sicky baby.

Here is more info on vitk

I'm due Monday.

Honeymoonmummy · 14/10/2008 20:52

Thanks AJM- dammit, I owe you one AGAIN now!!! I'm going to go for injection.

Sorry about delay replying, went to direct DH in the loft as he won't let me get up there any more ... what is his problem???? Altho apart from anything else it is highly doubtful I would fit through the hole.

rosebury · 14/10/2008 20:56

OK, MW has been. Baby is head down (thank goodness). Still spotting but got a long way to go if this is the real thing. Only 1-2 cm dilated, getting mild crampy contractions after the exam so off for a hot bath to see if it stops and into bed. She thinks that it might be tonight if things really kick off or more likely the next few days..

wendiwoo · 14/10/2008 21:32

Is anyone on this thread in Coventry and Warwickshire?, open minded and wouldn't mind a complete stranger observing their baby's birth???? I am desperate to complete my Doula training before November 6th... Still need one more birth and despite lots of harrassing poor preggers mums can't find anyone! PLEASE HELP ME! send out the word to all expectant mums to be. i will offer as much/little physical/emotional support needed (not at the exclusion of husband/partner!)If you need more information I can email details! Thankyou so much!

Honeymoonmummy · 14/10/2008 21:33

Yay! You're dilated!! Have a nice bath AJM and sweet dreams

Honeymoonmummy · 14/10/2008 21:36

Sorry wendi, nowhere near Cov.
There are quite a few overdue babies on the list aren't there? I'm dreading going overdue...

wendiwoo · 14/10/2008 21:39

Good luck ajm200! ... could be mummy by morning!

nuclear · 14/10/2008 22:03

good luck AJM - its the full moon i tell you

xxx

rowanmac · 14/10/2008 22:26

Not so much committed as bored. DH went home at6 to sort out DS and grandparents. No action here, BP still up but they now say induction book v busy for tomorrow so I don't know what will happen. Looking unlikely we will share a birthday now though, I can't pop out a baby in 1 1/2hrs from a standing start!

Well done to whoever suggested earplugs in bag. Have side room but its next to door to ward and entry buzzer.

Go on ajm hope it happens.

WheresTheAuPair · 14/10/2008 22:31

Hi ladies- have been offline for the last 5 days and so much to catch up on!

Congrats CSWS wow what a long induction! Hope you're well rested now.

usuallytooshy- what an amazing birth story. Lol that is the reason why DH has banned curry and sex in the last few weeks-he's worried about 'bringing the baby on' (either that or my gigantic wriggling bump is a turn off- can't imagine that tho)

Spent exhausting evening tidying up and sorting out the nursery-still can't believe i've left it to the week before CS to get stuff straight. Sent DH up the loft to dig out baby clothes and seem to have lost an entire box of 0-3 stuff -have only managed to find about 3 fleecy snowsuits, nighties (?) and some random outfits (with tags on as they were horrid starchy baby jean type affairs that i couldn't bear to put DS in!) Unless it turns up in DS's room i'm off to tescos in the manana to stock up on sleepsuits and vests!! do seem to have tonnes of 3-6 month stuff tho. Surely DS was not so big that we bypassed the 0-3 part!

Good luck AJM

WheresTheAuPair · 14/10/2008 22:33

hmm reading my post back I seem to have gone mad on !!! marks... Must be the adrenaline of 4 solid hours nesting

ajm200 · 14/10/2008 22:49

The contractions continued and strengtened slightly after a hot bath so maybe..

Rowanmac I might have suggested the earplugs, my induction last time was nearly as long as CSWS managed this time round. Hope they start you off tomorrow.

Good job I didn't end up in hospital, both of the nighties I packed still have security tags on them.. good old mothercare..

Going to have a hot drink then off to bed... night everyone.. I'll post an update if anything happens.

Flum · 15/10/2008 00:27

Gone to bed AJM.........?
