nuclear · 25/10/2008 04:14

morning ... early start for me today I feel as though something may be happening.

woke up at 3.00 am with a strnge feeling of pressure and the then had to go to the loo (IFYSWIM!) since then I have had persisent backache and period like contractions.

Sitting downstairs now after having a snack with some candles lit - not sure if this is the real thing but if not its nice and relaxing

will probably be back on here in a few hours complaining that it has all stopped.

star6 · 25/10/2008 05:34

how is it going, nuclear?

SmudgeyDoodle · 25/10/2008 14:56

And????? Come on Nuclear, let us know
Hope Jenwa not checking in means that something is happening there too. We've just gone on the bus to a shopping centre near us and got a few bits and pieces and then come home. Journey that takes about 10 mins in car probably took us about an hour each way but it was a good way to fill the morning. DS now exhausted in bed so we get a sit down.
Star hoping you were up feeding and then went back to bed. How is DS sleeping?

Flum · 25/10/2008 16:17

Happy due date to me today. Been out locally and seen LOADS of people we know. All saying, oh you must be feeling dreadful by now. etc etc. But I am feeling GREAT today. This is borrowed relaxation time.

Kids off to Granny & Grandads tomorrow for half term so hopefully baby will come around on Thursday afternoon after I have had my crown fitted at dentist and lounged around in bed for oooooh 3 days.

Hoorah!!

Will probably come tonight now

But the other 2 were both more than a week late so.......

nuclear · 25/10/2008 16:36

sorry nothing to report - still getting niggles and lots of backache but nothing major (humph!)

went into town today in the hope to get things moving but nothing yet.

I do feel different but this could be my mind playing tricks on me.

I reckon one of us will pop first then we will all go into labour like scittles !!!

happy due date Flum. The halloween smile is for you !!!
ooooo bus journeys are meant to help smudgey keep us informed.

rosebury · 25/10/2008 19:55

Good luck ladies still waiting sorry not been on for a while just busy with baby and had a terrible cold which when you are short of sleep is bloody awful. Nuclear it all sounds like go go go to me you are certainly rumbling, I now need to pop backwards and try to find out who has had their babes.

Thinking of you all xx

jenwa · 25/10/2008 21:45

Hello. No baby sorry.
We swapped out living room and dining room round last night so Dh could set up comuter in dining room and shut himself away so he can work from home so have had no internet until this eve. I also have been at mums this afty and spent time with her and my sis and of course DD who is having another overnight stay

Had slight show this morn followed by on and off period niggles but nothing major. DH was bit scared as we went shopping and I was holding on to trolley as baby felt like it was pushing really hard down in me, think DH was happy to do a quick shop then get back home, prob not worried about me really

Got MW coming again tomorrow for another sweep otherwise induction mon.

nuclear sorry things were not happening, hopfully they will soon, prob like you said we will all be like skittles!

CantSleepWontSleep · 25/10/2008 21:53

Sure you must have said jenwa, but why induction at just a week overdue?

Congrats 4andnotout.

Don't forget the clocks go back tonight ladies.

OP posts:
jenwa · 26/10/2008 03:48

CSWS due to 3rd degree tear last time they said that babys head developing and bones getting harder so better to induce earlier to reduce risk of damage in that area again.

Having contractions now [ouch]
Woke at 1:45 and now 4.45 but been robbed an hour as its now 3:45! They are not really bad although had some that bloody hurt and lasted ages. Also had another show about 10 mins ago.

Not sure if anyone awake.

I hope that these contractions are for real and they dont fade! Hade some paracetamol and tried to go back to sleep but it not worked!

star6 · 26/10/2008 05:23

good luck jenwa!

CantSleepWontSleep · 26/10/2008 06:44

Ooh Jenwa - good luck!

OP posts:
star6 · 26/10/2008 07:56

jenwa I hope you have your baby in your arms now and contractions are gone!

Sallypuss · 26/10/2008 08:49

Still waiting here too - that's despite 3 curries, 2 pineapples and one session of reflexology. 'Hoping' that the mw will offer me a sweep at my appointment tomorrow to get things moving....

sending labour vibes to all the other ladies in waiting

nuclear · 26/10/2008 09:17

ooohhhh Jenwa thinking of you !!!!!

hope everyone else is ok - I had a wonderful night's sleep last night and have woken up feeling wuite energetic so today would be a good day to go into labour -hope my body ctaches on to this!

Horrible rainy day here - it is my BIL's birthday today so going out to my mum and dad's who are throwing a small party for him so that will be nice for a chance and take my mind off things.

will keep checking back to how Jenwa is getting on.

SmudgeyDoodle · 26/10/2008 10:33

Jenwa hope this is it for you. Still nothing for me - so would have to conclude that eating lots of chocolate tiffin and going on a bus journey don't seem to help! DH taken DS swimming this morning. He was wondering whether to go cos thinking that I wouldn't be able to contact him once he's in the pool. I pointed out that I could just phone the pool and ask them to make an announcement. I bet he'd get changed the quickest ever. Almost worth doing just to see how quickly he can get home
Flum you sound like you've got it all in perspective and are looking forward to enjoying some peace. Bet you're next
What time was everyone up this morning? We put DS to bed a bit later than normal in the hope that he'd sleep later. Yeah, right! 7am on the dot (as in 6am today time!)

Honeymoonmummy · 26/10/2008 12:41

Thanks for undertaking the experiment for us re chocolate tiffin Smudgey, it was really good of you to sacrifice yourself to science like that...

I'm due in 3 days and apart from the fact that I felt her drop again last night, even tho she was already 2/5 engaged, oh and the fact that I've had mild diaorrhea for about 10 days now, nothing seems to be happening yet...

Honeymoonmummy · 26/10/2008 12:59

Oh and I'm feeling REALLY horny all the time!!! Anyone else get this at the end??

ajm200 · 26/10/2008 14:12

Good luck Jenwa!

Not been able to keep up with everyone's news as I've been so busy with vistors and 2 little ones.

I'll bet jenwa has her baby now Cant wait to hear the name!

Flum · 26/10/2008 17:18

Mmmm she has gone quiet.

Kids gone to Grannies an hour ago. Me and DH were not sure what to do with ourselves so we put the bins out then thought we better start the evening so we have come up to the sitting room and he is watching cricket and I am mumsnetting - feels like 10pm!!

Blisssed out, no one to make nursery tea for, no stories to read, no uniform to get ready.

We are just going to get used to this relaxing life when - WHAM we won't know what has hit us. Well we should remember but I think we have blocked it out!!!

Slightly horny but the glorious vaginal varicose veins put me off......

Will make DH do it on Mon or Tues just to get things going and hopefully produce baby this week..........

Flum · 26/10/2008 17:24

Anyone working on a stats update......

If not I will do it....

Nothing else to do.....

Hi all. Just popping in to say hello and congratulations to all the new arrivals, I'm still waiting for mine!

You'd have thought that by the time you got to your third child you might have stood a slight chance of an early or at least on time arrival but not me. I'm 6 days late and haven't even had any signs of labour commencing after a membrane sweep...!! Not even a slight twinge!

I'm booked for my induction on 01/11 so will definately post with baby new within the next six days or so..

Good luck to everyone still waiting, and congrats again to you new mummies! xxx

Flum · 26/10/2008 19:19

Impressive Can'tsleep!

Am interested in how many people are late....

AandMsmum am intrigued to see what you get. We have two DDs as well and don't know what this bump is yet.
