flum I'm having the same panic about getting everyone ready in time for school in the morning. My DH has to leave by 7.15am so I've extracted a promise that he will remain in the house till I at least am dressed and have had a cup of tea. I had a go at getting everyone downstairs yesterday by myself as DH was exhausted and there was a lot of shouting!
jenwa hope things start moving for you soon. I'd be tempted to make the most of the day at home tbh if baby moving fine and you feel well.
and congratulations firstimer08 looking forward to the birth announcement.

ronshar · 23/10/2008 09:18

We had the normal panic running out the door this morning. And it was only DH & DD1. I was making packed lunch, ironing shirts etc all at 8.15 having fed baby and shoved DH out of bed!
It all depends on what time William wakes for first feed.

Jenwa, I would go and checked out because if your waters have broken then you are at risk of infection. I would be surprised if you are weeing every morning. OOOO you could be having one of those mythical silent labours. you might go to the loo and find a baby.

4andnotout · 23/10/2008 09:33

Morning all
I always wake up wet too and feel like dribbles but it is just discharge sorry tmi! My waters havent ever broken spontaneously before so im not expecting them to this time either. Still have 3 days till edd and no signs yet I havent popped this one out yet but we are already planning dc5 for 2010 (unless this one is a little nightmare!) Definately having 2009 off as i only had 4 months this year where i wasnt pregnant and have actually been pregnant 6 times in the last 6 years so i need a rest!

ronshar · 23/10/2008 10:08

Just seen midwife, the baby is further engaged now (not that that really means much) but ho hum! I was trying to convince her to do a sweep today but she said as i'm not due til tomorrow she won't do one until tuesday.....just hope the baby comes before then so dp can get time off....

sparklesandnowinefor1day · 23/10/2008 11:07

I'll never say never but i think 5 will be enough for me, so no plans for any more after this one....but i said that last time

4andnotout · 23/10/2008 12:11

Oh had bit of bloody show this morning so fingers crossed things are opening up

Nothing more happened here either. A few more bits of show but nothing exciting. Sweep didn't hurt Jenwa. A bit uncomfortable but didn't hurt anything like as much as first examination at hospital last time. MW said cervix was a bit tucked behind babies head so she scooped it back
LOL at being more dilated than you CSWS. Unfortunately nearly 2 days have passed and no sign of baby - I know, you have the record at the moment and I should quit whinging! Hope you enjoyed your DD free day Jenwa and ended up getting some rest. I was thinking of scrubbing kitchen floor later.
Flum and Star - puppies You reckon OH will go for that?
4andnotout - good luck if this is it...

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 23/10/2008 14:14

hey everyone - now 2 days overdue and yesterday was really hard so am doing my best to just be patient as I got so worked up yesterday. DH took me to the cinema at 9pm which reminded me to make the most of my last few days/weeks of freedom. Sweep booked for tuesday.

all the strong BH's and period style pains etc I was having at the beginning of the week and last weekend have disappeared, I feel no different to a month ago...come on baby!

nuclear · 23/10/2008 15:55

Hi all

still here... went to playgroup with Ds this morning for his halloween party - we dressed him up as a tiger and he had a lovely na when we got back - bliss! Still not really feeling any different.

DS was born by now he was one day early HAPPY DUE DATE TO ME !!!!!

jenwa · 23/10/2008 16:17

Afternoon

ronshar you made me chuckle, I wish I would go to the loo and it popped out, I would love to post a birth stroy like that

smudgy thinking it did not hurt too much then if you even had to have your cervix scooped back [ouch] that sounds painful but obviously not then! I had a lovely day, mum made me lunch and we went to shops for a browse but I felt really short of breath and achey and was waddling about! I have managed to hoover, wash floors and clean bathroom. Need to strip DD's bed now. Even had a shower, washed hair and glammed up this am, so nice to pamper yourself when children are not about rooting through your make up and asking for everything every 5 mins!!!

Sweep tomorrow so hoping things will work out. My sis up from london this weekend and would be so nice to have baby before she has to go home sunday! Tomorrow would be a good day Do you think if I put it on the calendar it will happen????!!!!!!

Not sure how you all manage with lots of children, I am stressing about getting out the door 2 days a week for playgroup with DD and new baby!

4andnotout you are sooooo brave with lots of children, pregnancies and planning more, are you mad!!!! I always wanted 4 or 6 but think this will be it as shattered with 1!!!! Also, maybe it is discharge with me but is completely clear? Nothing in day but some d/c though? Not sure, will see MW in morn.

happy due date nuclear GWMH Brave you going to the cinema, how funny if you had gone into labour, or maybe not!

star6 · 23/10/2008 16:56

so gald to hear someone say that... i thought the first internal exam - 1cm dilated was SOOOOOOOOOO painful! On tv women make it look easy!

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 23/10/2008 17:50

jenwa sounds like you've got some serious nesting going on woman!! have finally packed my hospital bag (well, transfer to hospital bag in case HB doesn't work out), so come on baby, I am officially ready!

happy due date nuclear

am totally resigned to the idea that I may well end up going two weeks over and being induced - but I don't want to be a November girl!!!!!

nuclear · 23/10/2008 18:34

i don't want to be a November girl either

SmudgeyDoodle · 23/10/2008 20:31

Come on babies, where are you? DS wanted to lift up my top when we were in Asda today so that he could give the baby a kiss. I didn't really want him to so he was shouting "Baby are you" which is his version of baby where are you. The woman standing next to me thought it was quite funny when I said "Yes, exactly where are you baby. Get a move on and come out of there" I'm still feeling fine so maybe I can have one of those babies that just slips out when I'm asleep. LOL at putting date on calendar to make it happen!

4andnotout · 23/10/2008 20:38

Think this is it! Having strong contractions, lots of show sorry tmi! Had a hot bath and got clean clothes on, now just quietly breathing through the pain and hoping i can last out until silent witness has finished!
JENWA my discharge was completely clear too.

CantSleepWontSleep · 23/10/2008 20:50

Good luck 4andnotout!

star6 · 23/10/2008 21:19

jenwa are you in labour yet? come on! get that baby out! You cannot be wetting yourself. It must be your waters and that's true about the risk of infection. That's why they ended up having to induce my labour more because waters all went at once early on and had to have antibiotics during labour and after for a bit.
Best wishes 4andnotout!

hansnava · 23/10/2008 21:47

hi all,
sophia leigh was born 21/10/08 by elective c-section weighing 7lb 6oz and is absolutly perfect. will post birth story soon. congrats to all new mummies

Flum · 23/10/2008 22:40

Ronshar - quite fancy one of those mythical labours where baby just appears as if by magic!

Impressed with 5. I think I will crave one more after this one. But DH is adamant that this is it and we get on with OUR lives after this. But this is OUR lives. Kids just crack me up. Mind you I do spend most of the time from 8am to 8.45 yelling at them like bootcamp: Brushed teeth? Book bag? Where are your shoes? blardy blardy blar

WezMeBroomstick · 23/10/2008 22:51

Evening ladies

Olive aka 4andnotout has just texted me from the labour ward!!

She is having gas and air as we speak

No4's arrival is imminent

Will keep you posted

Honeymoonmummy · 23/10/2008 22:59

Hi all,

Is it common to have a lot of head movement immediately before you go into labour?? I've never known the baby to move so much!

Ekka · 24/10/2008 05:04

Hi all, anyone have the link to the contraction timer? Think things are kicking off here but will probably not be too speedy, like last time I just can't lie down through contractions as they seem to be far more painful.... Lets just hope this is it - I'm bored of being pg....

Congrats to all who've had their babies, I've not been able to keep up with the stats very well...
