Like Pepperrabbit - congratulations a lovely story - I have posted my birth announcement here

nuclear · 22/10/2008 09:54

congrats to all those who have just popped ! thought it was my turn last night (due tomorrow) I had regular strong contractions every ten mins for 3 hours but it all stopped at around 3am.

now nothing seems to be happening at all, so I am in a huff.

jenwa · 22/10/2008 10:19

Congrats WTAP and BMSA BMSA Just read your birth story. Sounds like all ok in the end and you have a lovely baby.

pepperrabbit Congrats, have just posted on your bith story. Lovely pic too.

Still nothing here, woke up with pants wet again but nothing since, It is not wee, smells sweet (sorry tmi) and its clear. MWs said on monday prob just a discharge, who knows! No cramps or anything else. will just keep waiting.

star6 · 22/10/2008 10:20

I'll bet that's your waters...
silly mws

nuclear · 22/10/2008 10:28

hi jenwa like your waters.

Is the baby's head engaged fully? Maybe that is why you are just getting 'trickles'

Congrats to all that have had their babies

still waiting here, not due til friday but was kind of hoping the baby would make an appearance this week as its half term next week and i will have no help for that unless dp is on paternity leave

pingviner · 22/10/2008 11:41

just a quick message before I relax back into baby-moon: our lovely little boy, Teemu Finn born on 17/10/08 by emergency C section weight 3.6kg and totally gorgeous, finally home!
will update birth stories etc and pictures soon good luck to the ladies in waiting and congratulations to all who've given birth since I last posted.. (will read the thread later, honest)

rowanmac · 22/10/2008 12:12

bethoo in answer to your question NO NO NO NEVER. Have just placed ad in local paper for maternity clothes.

Just logging in to see who has arrived, jenwa it must come soon surely. pepperrabbit does the place being on fire give you more incentive to push or were you so in the 'zone' you weren't aware of it?

off to find the post natal thread as I am barely keeping mastitis at bay here, heaven knows what I'm going to do on Mon when DH goes back to work.

SmudgeyDoodle · 22/10/2008 13:15

Congrats WTAP and BMSA and pingviner. Pingviner I think you were due today same as me weren't you? So that you have your LO. Nuclear, Jenwa I'm still here and had sweep yesterday, a bit of a show but no contractions at all yet. MW said I was 2 cm dilated yesterday and she could stretch it to 3 so things are at least looking hopeful for the next week or so
Mum here at the moment and not sure whether to send her home (surely a guarantee that things will start) or keep her here (and then nothing will happen)
Feeling sooooo much better than I have the last few days and even seem to have stopped with the runs. Maybe this baby is staying put!

CantSleepWontSleep · 22/10/2008 13:45

Congrats pingviner.

Smudgey - you're already more dilated than I was hours before giving birth!

OP posts:
jenwa · 22/10/2008 15:29

smudgey Midwife coming fri to do sweep etc, does it hurt?? Sounds painful when you say she could stretch it to 3cm!

Been to town today and really achey, think head is most prob fully engaged now nuclear as was 2/5 last week and feel like it has moved down. I keep getting sharp pains in my groin like it is sat on a nerve [ouch emotion] and walking in town today was not at all comfy but no more trickles! When I told my mum she said its prob a bit of urine it did not smell of it and surely if it was wee I would be like it more often, also having 3rd degree tear last time I had no leakage so would not want to start now!

myjob I sort of want to go to check it out but also dont want to sit about waiting and then go back home waiting for something to happen or not! Just want baby to come now!!!

jenwa · 22/10/2008 15:30

pingviner Congrats to you and your new baby boy.

nuclear · 22/10/2008 18:07

hi all

ooh smudgey sounds promising.

Had MW appointment today and she thought baby was breach cue major panic and off to hosital for a scan - talk of ECV (?) and sections.

But he is still head down thank god!!!!

No more pains for me...seems like everyone is moving along but me (still in a huff!)

Sallypuss · 22/10/2008 18:51

Congrats to all with their new arrivals. My due date tomorrow and despite 2 whole pineapples and 2 curries, nothing moving here...ho hum....

nuclear · 22/10/2008 19:41

breech

Flum · 22/10/2008 21:19

Nothing moving here either. But, my new sitting room curtains arrived (have lived here since April 07 and took me this long to choose them) They are soooooooooo beautiful - should be they cost more than my car . Will enjoy sitting feeding baby and gazing at them in adoration.

Also struck a deal with DH as suddenly had a panic attack about how I would cope with 2 kids and a little baby. He is going to get the girls up and dressed each weekday and give them breakfast so I only have to worry about baby until 8.30am when I take the eldest to school. This is brilliant as will get an hour or so extra in bed if nights are tough. I have always done all the 'nightwork' anyway so not fussed about that in the slightest.

firsttimer08 · 22/10/2008 22:18

hello all,
just a quick note to say baby was born on the 13th ! had an amazingly short labour, will write more later.

ronshar · 22/10/2008 23:02

A quick congratulations to all the new mums.

It has been so busy here and William still hasnt settled into much of a routine yet. He just doesnt seem to understand if the lights are off it is sleep time. I am knackered.

Bethoo, no bloody way, are you mad woman

Flum · 22/10/2008 23:17

I am already broody for another and haven't had this one yet. Praps this one will cure me. The plan is to get a puppy next year instead. DH does not want 4 kids and I think I am getting a bit too old for it all.

star6 · 23/10/2008 01:31

A puppy! great idea. im suggesting that to dh if he even thinks about talking about a sibling for ds. thanks, flum

star6 · 23/10/2008 01:32

how is it going jenwa?

jenwa · 23/10/2008 08:17

Morning
Wow star imagine you were up feeding at 1:30!!!
I am ok, still nothing happening! Wet again this am! Starting to think maybe I am wetting myself!!!! I am seeing MW tomorrow but may call today but really dont want to go in to hospital especially as DD at inlaws for the day and looking forward to a rest again/housework without the thought of spending however long in hosp!!!

firsttimer08 Congrats on your new arrival.
