WheresTheAuPair · 20/10/2008 21:38

argh c-section tomorrow. feel so nervous. Spent all day packing and cleaning-like going on some bizarre holiday! managed to give myself a tummy upset through nerves. still at least it gives me a good clean out

7am tomorrow...eek.

CantSleepWontSleep · 20/10/2008 22:06

Oh good luck to you too wtap!

Flum · 20/10/2008 22:17

Good luck to those being sectioned. No action here yet but not due until 25th and last two were both more than a week late so hoping this will be the same.

Both sets of Grandparents out of the country until Friday so it would be most convenient for this babe to wait until the due date or afterwards.

star6 · 21/10/2008 00:51

they asked us about contraception and i said, without blinking an eyelid "abstinence". DH just sat there... im NOT ready to give birth again and after all of those stitches, terrified of sex.

sambrads · 21/10/2008 08:57

star it is scary but dont leave it to long as it will only get worse the fear that is

with ds i waited over a month and worked myself up and it ended up not being very enjoyable but not too sore with dd i have already had sex and thats only just over a week after having her as i was dyig for it this time i was alot more chilled out and it to be honest you would have never thought anything came out of there

just remember wait until you are ready yourself not when dh gets super horny hahaha

good luck to all those ladies awaiting birth and congrats to everyone who has had theres

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 21/10/2008 08:59

good luck wherestheaupair

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 21/10/2008 09:00

oh, and happy due date to me....

jenwa · 21/10/2008 09:02

Hi all, still here with baby in tummy , nothing else progressed yesterday and no more leakage, MW's said prob watery discharge . DH taken DD to playgroup this am and MIL picking her up so I can have a rest. My close friend had her DD yesterday, am sooo happy for her but also a little , she not due utnil 12th Nov!!! She had her DS on the due date the MW gave me for my DD and has stolen my due date this time around too!!!!! But am sooo happy for her, just impatient that I want mine now too.

DH stressed his am as taking DD to PG, makes me laugh as I still got up and did everything for her (not that I needed to) but was awake and he said "I could not do this all the time hanging around waiting"! I did think "well I usually do housework, get me and dd ready and tidy up after ourselves so we never have time to hang around! Never said it though as would have caused a stress!!!
Have stress now as his family dont plan very well so dd gone to PG and his mum picking her up and said they would walk to town and now has called to say they want her car seat which DH has in the car so is now having to turn around to bring it back and he is an a bad mood! Sometimes I find it easier for them to just not help as no one gets stressed then!!!!

Anyway bethoo sounds like you are enjoying new DP and you are very happy with your children. (apart from their bums!)

Good luck to those having sections today.

emkay Congrats on your new baby boy (big boy) Hope you find a name soon.

jenwa · 21/10/2008 09:05

Re sex, Yes I got freaked out about it and DH and his brother would discuss it together as his brother and partner had a baby same time so it was like a competition!!!

I had 3rd degree tear so was not up for it for awhile! Funny as Dh not coming near me at mo but wanted to when I had split bits and stiches!!!!

See what happens this time!

CantSleepWontSleep · 21/10/2008 09:28

star - don't feel under any pressure to have sex before you are ready. Dh and I waited about 5 months last time (because of dd's and thus my lack of sleep and constant screaming), which was longer than most, but so what?!

Sorry you're still here jenwa. Can relate to the grandparent stuff!

OP posts:
pepperrabbit · 21/10/2008 09:36

emkay congratulations! that sounds fast and I'm so glad you got to go to the birthing centre after all.
Good luck those with sections today!
I'm not even thinking about sex tbh, had to have stitches as she was back to back and came out face up, then some complications so I'm just about sitting with confidence now (day 5?). DH is definitely in for the Long Wait

SmudgeyDoodle · 21/10/2008 10:41

Morning ladies. Hope WTAP and Hansnava aren't too low down the section list so don't have to wait too long. I was up every 2 hours with the runs last night (sorry TMI) but no cramps so really not sure what is going on. DH had stomach upset on Sat so not sure if it is that. Problem is that if it's stomach upset then I want to eat as little as poss to give stomach time to recover but if it's me having a clear out pre-birth then I want to eat so I have energy. Also booked in for sweep with MW this pm but not sure whether to have it or not. Happy due date GWMH!

Flum · 21/10/2008 11:37

Mmmmm sex. I think you need to get back to it as soon as you can..... if you wait until you are 'ready' it may never happen and the longer you wait the more of a big deal it becomes. The first time will probably be scary, rubbish and hurt a bit but the second time will be better . I reckon try to do before your 6 week check then if anything feels erm.... not quite right you can discuss it with Doc before you are discharged.

5 months!!! Blimey your husband is very patient!!!

CantSleepWontSleep · 21/10/2008 11:44

Not really Flum. He's always been the one with the lower sex drive.

OP posts:
star6 · 21/10/2008 12:57

I dont even want sex. not at all. I know I sound awful but I dont even fancy it in the least

pepperrabbit · 21/10/2008 14:07

Ahem, with DS1 we didn't have sex for a year! That included me being PG but even so!
DH will be grateful if I even think about it before Christmas

Flum · 21/10/2008 14:07

Yeah but honestly if you wait till you fancyit , that day might never come. When you are looking after a baby randy thoughts just don't appear that much. Thats why I think you just have to make yourself do it. Make a joke about it 'back in the saddle'and all that. Then it stops being an issue.

The whole thing worries me as I love my husband soooo much and want him to be happy and fancy me but my DH goes off it when I am pregnant he has that kind of mentality of 'My work here is done' until the vulval varicose veins kicked in (and even now in the dead of night inthe deep dark) I still try to persuade him because I think it keeps you close and in the habit.

I am worried that when he has the snip as he wants to he will go off it completely as there will be no kind of instinct to impregnate which is the general driving force isn't it! We'll see.

Anyway keeping on the job is no guarantee they won't stray at this time anyway....

star6 · 21/10/2008 15:15

hmmm... I may seek counseling for this

Star - its perfectly normal not to even wnat to THINK about sex - everyone is different, jsut like our sex drives are all different. Its understandable that you are wary re:pain/stitches etc and you have enough on your plate with the baby - give it a little longer and then see how you feel

jenwa · 21/10/2008 17:15

star I agree you do it when your ready but can also see pro's of doing it sooner than later. I had a physio appt after DD was born re my 3rd degree tear and they asked me if I had yet had sex to which my reply was "no" (prob 6 weeks after DD was born) she then made another appt for me and said we could discuss it at next appt which made me feel really under pressure to have sex again (and the physio was a friend which made it harder as I knew she would know when I had etc!)

At the mo you will be too tired and its the last thing on your mind. I remember thinking on a normal day if I was shattered and had not slept well I would have had an early night with no sex so why is it different really. Your DH will understand and if not tell him to go to the bathroom and deal with it himself (or not)

I will try to get back into it sooner this time as got in a flap last time but who knows what will happen. I think having kids puts sex on hold anyway (well apart from bethoo ) as there never seems to be a good time!

myjob thank you. Nothing happening today I am def not keeping my legs crossed!!! Been cleaning cellar shelves today and tidying up again. Going to walk the hills tomorrow Julie Andrews eat your heart out, here comes the sound of music!!!

WheresTheAuPair · 21/10/2008 18:14

Finley peter born this morning at 9.30 weighing in at 9lbs 7 oz. The care and midwives were fantastic- can't fault any of it! Already got catheter and drip out and baby breastfeeding well. The opposite experience to my first really!

pepperrabbit · 21/10/2008 18:34

Congratulations WTAP so glad you're both well and happy!

bigmouthstrikesagain · 21/10/2008 18:51
