emkay · 18/10/2008 19:44

Emkay is around unfortunately and feeling very blue! Took the day to lounge about and feel sorry for myself and refuse to talk to anyone on the phone! I'm 8 days overdue today so really keen to get going. In for yet another sweep on Monday and then it all starts getting technical around Wednesday / Thursday so fingers crossed something happens before then.

DP is being very good and even DD seems to have sensed that Mummy is not to be messed with at the moment so we had a strangely peaceful day!

YumMum22 · 18/10/2008 19:50

had a lovely home water birth baby boy born today at 12.47am no cuts or bruses and he weighed 10lb...

YumMum22 · 18/10/2008 19:56

SmudgeyDoodle · 18/10/2008 20:01

Emkay, I'm sorry to be another person wondering if things had happened Hope things get going before Wed and glad that you've had a peaceful day! Yummum that sounds fab. Congratulations on your baby boy and pass on some quick birth vibes to the rest of us who are still waiting. I can't remember who else was saying that they thought their LO was waiting til they had a name before it arrived. I hope ours doesn't or I don't think it'll ever come out!

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 18/10/2008 20:08

congrats everyone recently, sorry, am really trying to keep up but also keep myself busy to get stressed about not having my baby yet (and I've still got 3 days to go til due date!)....especially yumum - sounds fantastic and can't wait to hear about it all!

am really down in the dumps tonight, DH has gone to his sister's wedding in coventry (we live in london), I was going to go but her daughter got chicken pox so I couldn't go, am hormonal and miserable, miss DH and really want my baby now please

GWTMH - don't say that you want your baby now when your dh is away, in case you get what you've asked for!

Congrats yummum.

No worries Smudgey, I just keep telling myself that everything's fine, baby's moving lots and at least I know for certain I'll have him or her here this time next week. Trying really hard to keep positive, as you can tell!

Yummum - sounds great, well done!

star6 · 19/10/2008 01:37

Pooy you, emkay! sending labour vibes your way.

Yummum well done! wow, cant wait to read your story.

gwmh be careful baby stays in until dh gets home

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 19/10/2008 03:57

dh came home hours ago, I can't get to sleep - is this my version of the energy burst?! sod's law will go into labour on friday which is the only day I'm not guaranteed a homebirth due to staff shortages, did anyone else become an insomianc at this stage? would prefer to get as much sleep as poss!

hansnava · 19/10/2008 05:38

morning-
ive given up trying sleep ne more today. i have from 11.30pm to 4.00am my not so dp knicking all the covers so i keep waking up freezing then my not so dd gets into bed with us and for some reason cant use a pillow like normal people she has to use my head then coz shes in the middle she kicks all the covers off so then me and not so dp end up freezing. then on top of all this its now two days before my section and thanks to my lovely nephew my dd has come down with a terrible cough so im now paranoid im gonna catch it and they wont give me section.

jenwa · 19/10/2008 09:10

MEN!!!!

nuclear · 19/10/2008 09:35

morning all

still nothing happening over here although for some annoying reason EVERY time I lie down to go to sleep at night strong BHs kick off for a couple of hours and are stopping me sleeping so I am knackered. It is odd though if I lie down and sleep in the day they don't happen ! It would be ok if I could sleep standing up

Congrats to all that have had your little bundles. I haven't had time to catch up on the thread and read through but it looks like those babies are coming thick and fast

I am trying to stay upbeat and enjoy these final days of 'peace' with just DH and DS but I am getting more and more impatient.

speak soon
xxxx

rowanmac · 19/10/2008 11:46

Just caught up, congratulations to all and sympathy to those still waiting, CSWS I thought Jessica Rabbit as well, the ARM/IOL thing was to do with staffing. ARM done on labour ward, prostin etc done on ward so it depended on busyness. In the end I was clearly unwell so they got on with it.

Home Friday, feeding going well but sore nipples and bad afterpains which are now settling will of course carry on but i can see why people don't. Refused all visitors yesterday and had day at home with the 4 of us. DS off to Singing Kettle this pm so am balancing Anna whilst making pirate outfit as you do!

Will check back when I can. ajm and pepperrabbit I hope you are now feeling as well and upbeat as I am again, its amazing how fast you recover isn't it.

caramelbunny · 19/10/2008 11:55

You have excellent taste in names tooshy!

Congratulations yummum although am very very about your beautiful home birth.

star6 · 19/10/2008 12:29

what's jessica rabbit? sorry... had a very sheltered upbriging...

nuclear · 19/10/2008 13:00

Lozza70 · 19/10/2008 14:07

So many new arrivals! Congratulations on all the new babies!

CantSleepWontSleep · 19/10/2008 14:11

Yes - here she is.

heather1980 · 19/10/2008 14:52

congratulations to all the new arrivals!! gosh lots of us has home births didn't we? mine was amazing, much better than in hospital.

well we've finally come up with a name - alexander james. it's only taken us 3 days!
and my milk came in yesterday, ouch ouch forgot how painful that is, could hardly sleep with the pain and looking like jordan.

ajm200 · 19/10/2008 16:45

congratulations to Pepperrabbit and Caramelbunny

Hi everyone, slowly catching up. Grabbing a few mins of PC time while Amelia feeds and DS watchs Mr Maker,

Feeling great now. Difficult to believe I only gave birth 2 days ago. Went out today for the first time as a family of 4 to get Amelia some premmie clothes as newborn re too big and rubbing.

I'm going to post more details of my homebirth in the birth announcements.

Honeymoonmummy · 19/10/2008 18:56

Congrats to all!

I'm not due until the 29th but I've had mild diaorrhea for 4 days now and for the last 2 days the braxton hicks have been kicking in. I've been "nesting" like you wouldn't believe for the last 3-4 days (especially at 4am) and I'm 3/5 engaged. Oh and I've had really bad mood swings today!!

Do you think the baby's likely to come sooner than the 29th (10 days)???

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 19/10/2008 18:56

aw nuclear I know how you feel - it's crap isn't it? especially as it then makes me think maybe I'm in early labour even though I'm not which makes sleeping even more impossible!
