Flying when Pregnant

Hiya all,

I'm new here as I just found out I'm pregnant, just waiting on doctor to confirm but had 7 positive hpt's.
Thing is I'm due to fly to dublin (a 45 min flight) at the end of november for a weekend and I was wondering if it is safe to fly? My husband and i have tried for this baby for 2 years so dont want to risk it.

Any help would be great!

Thank you...I was hoping you would say it's fine as I'm really looking forward to my break away.
Still waiting for the pregnancy to sink in!

When preggers you can fly till about 28th week. After that date, airlines will ask for a medical certificate from doc confirming you are OK to travel (as happened with me). Have a great trip!

Hi
Im 17wks and just flown to and from chicago.

Just drink loads and sit on the aisle so you can get out the bathroom. But TBH, a 45min flight isnt an issue.

Think issue is about sitting still for long periods of time and not drinking enough.

Hard for either to be an issue on a 45min flight.

Enjoy yourself in November and Congratulations!!! exciting times

Sazzer- how preg are you? Im thinking of taking a trip at about 30wks subject to medical approval.

Not sure how I will feel then though, let alone if I will fit in seat!

GYo - this was last year before ds was born. I was about 30 weeks from what I can remember, we flew from Bristol to Scotland for a wedding, no probs at all, I was glad of a break before the big event!!

I think they don't really recommend it in the very early stages, but then again I flew to Australia and back when I was about 5/8 weeks!
When you go and see your GP have a word about it then. I wouldn't worry about it though (clearly!).
