Charley - dh is going to be there at the birth, whether it kills him or not. (It won't, but it won't be good for him either). He loathes hospitals and doctors but when I mentioned a friend who had avoided his wife's labour because he "didn't like hospitals", dh was most scornful of such a suggestion.

Plus he wants to try out some of the painkillers. My bro told him it was the dad's prerogative to try out the gas and air

eastyorksmum · 28/02/2005 13:52

hi mums ....finally found the stats thread .......looks like you all had fun meeting up .....hope the snow wasnt to much ....... me and DH went to pictures instead.
I think our baby may have red hair too ..lol curly as well .as DH had red hair when he as a baby. chat soon xxxxxxx

welshmum · 28/02/2005 13:56

Lippy, KVG and Scraggy - if you're reading this and feeling a bit battered after the events of last week here's a plea from me. Don't desert this thread - I'd really miss you, there's alot for us to go through - probably the next 18 years or so We've genuinely helped each other so far - absolutely no reason for that not to continue xxx

teabelly · 28/02/2005 13:59

I second Welshie!

EYM - thanks for updating the stats...do you know the sex of bubbs or do you want a surprise?? (sorry if you've already said this...too long a thread to trawl through!)

My guess is Lippy, Scraggy and KVG are taking a well-earnt breather from Mumsnet, but hopefully they will be back shortly. If not, Cooperoo should start a chocolate eggs stats thread so they can catch up when they do get back on her research endeavours

katzguk · 28/02/2005 14:28

i think scraggy said she was very busy at work!! She's not even on MSN today which is unusual.

Our meet was great fun ,we had a lovely dinner and lots of chat and the pub we went to were great and didn't kick up a fuss dispite us occupying loads of room from 12.30 - 3pm!!! then Lua, MrsW and i and families went and found some snow and ducks. WE are going to have to try and arrange a big meet-up where the north and the south meet!

SamCattie · 28/02/2005 15:11

Blimey this thread is busy! I am having difficulty in keeping up!!! Great to read though!

MrsWednesday · 28/02/2005 15:13

Well said Welshie!

What happened on Friday? Was it more of the same, and was it still being directed at the June mums-to-be? Sorry to bring it up again, don't answer if you don't want to.

katzguk · 28/02/2005 15:16

MrsW - yes and no! but it has been deleted and seem to have been left to lie

MrsWednesday · 28/02/2005 15:25

Good, sorry to bring it up again.

It just seems such a shame if it's caused unnecessary upset on here.

teabelly · 28/02/2005 15:52

Katz - great idea - I've thought about this too...logistically maybe difficult...but may I propose Cyprus so that Coop doesn't feel left out...or Aus so that we can meet Uki too!

katzguk · 28/02/2005 15:54

i second Oz i could go and see my brother in sydney - do you recon we could get mumsnet to sponsor our trip?

MrsWednesday · 28/02/2005 15:56

We were talking about this yesterday as well - perhaps we could do a full meet-up at some point when everyone's maternity leave has started. Then we could do it during the week (either with or without kids) when travel is cheaper and places are less busy. Would love to put faces to cyber names (and real names to cyber names).

teabelly · 28/02/2005 15:57

Katz how spooky my brother lives in Sydney too!!!!!

OP posts:
katzguk · 28/02/2005 15:57

Mrs W even after yesterday i would struggle with real names to cyber names!!!!

katzguk · 28/02/2005 15:58

where abouts teabelly? my bro was on Darling harbour but has now moved out to bondi!!!

teabelly · 28/02/2005 16:00

Lurnia ?? but he's just moved out to Liverpool...apparently it's in the direction from Syndey towards the Blue Mountains...and until my mum came back last May she lived in Sans Souci (not too far from Bondi I think??)

OP posts:
katzguk · 28/02/2005 16:02

i have no idea where anywhere is!!!!!! he was living in Darling Harbour when we went out in the sspring on 2002 (i was newly PG with DD and ended up on bedrest in sydney!)

teabelly · 28/02/2005 16:06

Ooh how lovely (not the bedrest, ha ha ha) but being 'stuck' in Sydney...did you manage to see anything whilst you were there? I've been three times and I love it - but dh wouldn't move out there still this way I can always hold it against him in arguments and we get a free place to stay on hols over there

OP posts:
Lua · 28/02/2005 16:13

Katz, my DH was really impressed with the fact that your DH was willing to walk along the dam despite the fact that Liverpool was playing the big match... I keep saying - He looks like a really nice guy! But I don't think DH got my irony...

katzguk · 28/02/2005 16:20

Lua - not sure how i managed that either!!!!

Lua · 28/02/2005 16:27

Well... He does look like a nice guy!
BTw, send him our deepest sympathies...

I think we should all plan to spend a day in the beach somewhere in Wales! Then is equally out of the way for everybody!!

katzguk · 28/02/2005 16:28

except for Scraggy!!!!

wales sounds good to me, we could have a camping meet-up

charleypops · 28/02/2005 16:31

then we can be beached wales on a beach in wales!

Well, I think I've just had my first episode of "morning" sickness [shock. After posting a few hours ago, I had to go for a lie down! Pod has been extremely lively today, after a rather quiet day yesterday, so I'm putting it down to that!

Tea - I don't think I'm overdoing it with the tiling, I'm going quite slowly and carefully - have you finished decorating yet? I do get out of breath climbing up the stairs though! Is anyone else? Am I just incredibly unfit?

Trib - sorry, must've misread. doh. The gas and air sounds like a good idea for dp too - I think he'll need it!

charleypops · 28/02/2005 16:32
