Come on other end of September people, I feel like a fraud hanging out on this thread with people actually having their babies when I've still got nearly 6 weeks and two weekend breaks to go!!!

Midwife this aft was fine although I was in and out in about 45 seconds due to her overrunning. I meant to ask her about things like when you phone the hospital when you're in labour as I can't remember what the rules were from last time but I forgot.
My blood pressure is still fine and the head is engaged! I thought that with 2nd babies once it engaged it just keeps moving down but she said that it doesn't necessarily mean I'll be early, it might bounce back up! She never wrote anything about 5ths on the notes, just engaged in that section.

potxola · 20/08/2008 20:00

Carrieon Thanks, he is very handsome.
He does not look Spanish at all, but he has this very charming latin way of looking intensely into peoples eyes. Hoping that Lorea looks like him. He told me yesterday thet he was light and I was dark...... (the skin tone)
Hope you are feeling better, sorry if I didn't see your post. Have been very hormonal and nervous lately. I am the next on the list!!!!!!!!!

debi we were told to go in when you're having three contractions in 10 mins or can't take the pain any more. Mind you both were true for me last time and I was only 3cm! Also depends how long a drive you are from the hospital, and how long/short your last labour was. Mine was only 2hrs 20 from when I finally got to the magical 4cm so I'd go in just as early this time. I wonder how the rules and guidelines vary round the country? I guess it also depends if your waters have broken. Another thing is to phone the labour ward and ask - its good warn them there's another baby brewing, and its the chance to bagsee the birth pool if you want it. I first phoned at 9am and when I went back at 10pm they remembered that I wanted it. HTH!

Carrieon I haven't really been looking to the profiles before now.
You are sooooooo young. That is great, Do you want more children?. Seeing the picture of your dd make me very excited about having a baby girl (I always wanted baby boys). She is beautiful and her mum is so young....(I have said that, haven't I . I am just jealous )

jenpet · 20/08/2008 20:11

As Dh is working away until Monday I am very much hoping I'm not one of the 2 week early second-timers!

DebitheScot · 20/08/2008 20:13

My whole labour was only 4 1/2 hours last time so I'm guessing I should at least phone them fairly early on. Mind you they said it was fast because my bp was so high so it might be a long one this time.

DebitheScot · 20/08/2008 20:18

potxola I know this is at least the 3rd time you've been asked this so apologies but where was it you got the arnica from? (is that what it's called? And am I right in thinking it's good for 'normal' births as well as c-sections?)

DebitheScot · 20/08/2008 20:20

and thanks potxola, there are a few of us on here who are even younger than carrieon

meglet · 20/08/2008 20:20

I think we may all have a touch of OCD. Give us a list and we all pounce on it like mad .

biglips · 20/08/2008 20:24

Debi - ive read on the internet that 2nd babies head not always engaged till youre in labour! Prob thats why mines not atm!!

carrieon · 20/08/2008 20:26

Well Poxtola I'm truely flattered, but I am 28!! Might add another nice photo of dd since I'm uploading to facebook at the mo after our recent holiday
Girls are brilliant. Last time I totally thought I wanted a boy, but from the second dd was born we couldn't have imagined having a boy, she's just brilliant. I don't know which I would choose if I could this time, so I'm glad I can't choose, and I'm glad its a surprise! In answer to your question, dh's plan is to have two close together (which we've acheived with a 17m gap) then a 3 or 4 year break, then another two close together. We'll see....!

Due in May! That's insane.

Starlight I wish I remembered! I am however optimistic (foolishly so, no doubt) that the baby will be punctual as apparently you stand a greater chance of punctuality if your periods are regular, and you could have set your clock by mine. Although since yours is the second, you probably have an even better chance of being early. Pants.
