Well that was cutting it a bit fine...

OP posts:

We are all getting very nervous, aren't we?
This morning I could not put my socks on. I felt as I was bending to do so, the baby was stopping me from doing it, streching a lot and that really hurt me.

I have my toddler watching 60 minutes make-over while playing because I just can't even talk to him, I am soooo tired. I need to sleep, but I can't do it while looking after him.
My dh stops working on friday, which means that I can have siestas on the days leading to the C-section, YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!

Eanz I almost forgot. Well done for talking to the consultant. Be strong and follow your feelings. Tell him exactly what you don't like if he gets funny again.
Have a glass of milk and put a facemask on.

DebitheScot · 20/08/2008 12:50

potxola what you could do with a photo is put it on and tell us it'll be there for just a couple of hours and then take it off. Obviously there's still a risk that someone you don't want to see it will see it but it will be a smaller risk.

Can anyone look at our profiles or do you have to be logged in?

DebitheScot · 20/08/2008 12:52

I gave up on socks weeks ago. Yesterday I got ds to do the velcro up for me on my comfy Merrell sandals, then when we went out later he was desperate to do it for me again. Thought that was very sweet. Only problem is he is at childminder today so I'll have to do it myself when I go out in a minute! (or just wear not quite so comfy but easier to slip on sandals)

eandz · 20/08/2008 12:55

potxola

yumm...milk. will have some now.

biglips · 20/08/2008 12:55

yes do u have to be logged in to see others profiles.

biglips · 20/08/2008 12:59

oh i gave up socks months ago!! as been living in my sandals in the rain and sun. i cant even paint my toe nails....last time i did i nearly passed out with no oxygen going into my head!! . Its now Wed and got till Friday to go in hosp to get baby turned around...think baby not turned yet by itsself. i think ill have to get a LOUDSPEAKER to have a word with the baby.

Didnt get to sleep till 3am!! as i went to my friends house to see a few friends of mine for a few drinks (diet coke!) and a pizza...got home at 12.30am and every time Dp was tossing in bed...the baby was tossing around inside me!!

jenpet · 20/08/2008 13:59

Mustsleep you and I are the back-ache stalwarts! Mine is just ridiculous. I had to go & have a meeting with the aneasthetist today (??) where he discussed epidurals at great length - although if labour is anything like last time I'm really going to try & go without - but what I really wanted to say was what about a quick injection of it right now, otherwise I might just fall on the floor when I stand up!! I had a show last time around, and it was very obvious what it was, though everyone is different I expect.
Thoughts with sunshine mummy today, very, very exciting...

hey you guys,
i have to go to an appointment tomorrow in the kensington wing to do a bstrep test and thats where sunshinemummy will be. do you think it'll creepy if i left a card for her with the midwives?

jenpet · 20/08/2008 14:51

Starlight they have you go to meetings about everything over here! I've seen more Dr's in the last 9 months than ever before in my whole life...I was saying to the anaesthetist this morning how different it was from the UK, but they just shrug & look sympathetic as if to say "how awful". When I had my last check with the obst.yesterday, he did a mini-scan so he could measure the head, and the vital organs at this stage - & told me he currently weighs 3.339kilos!!

I've been given a very detailed list of what to take in too. 10 baby grows, 10 vests, 50 nappies, thermometer for baby etc etc - masses more than I'd packed!

eandz no, I don't think it would be creepy at all, I think she would be thrilled!

potxola · 20/08/2008 14:52

Thanks for the advise debitheScot and Biglips I did not think about having to log on to see the profile. I am getting excited about putting a picture. I see now if I can learn how to do it.

Eanz How much do we know about Sunshine? Do we know her real name?.Would they give it to the right person? If I were you I would drop a card on behalf of all of us please.

potxola · 20/08/2008 15:04

Ok I have put a picture of my ds in my profile. I thought it was going to be more difficult.

becaroo · 20/08/2008 15:16

Good luck Sunshine!

Oohh, its getting a bit busier on the baby front!!!

Hope everyone is well x

eandz · 20/08/2008 15:40

jenpet and potxola

i was gonna sign it from all of us otherwise i'd feel weird. i think she put her real first name in the london meet up thread. so i'll look there.

meglet · 20/08/2008 15:40

Hope everything has gone well sunshine! eandz lovely idea about dropping off a card for her .

I think I have finally lost the plot, re; nesting, and have cleaned behind the cooker for the first time in my life. Found a selection of pasta and a couple of DS's toys.

DP is off to Relate in a moment to try and get himself sorted out, the talk should do him good. My mum is going to have a chat with him about the house at some point, it's partly in her name and she is not happy about him hitting holes in the walls. Luckily she's a trained Samaritan so she'll be nice to him and it might clear the air and realise the whole world isn't against him.

eandz · 20/08/2008 15:45

meglet
you cleaned behind the cooker? impressive. i don't dare look back there.

ok, i'll take over a card tomorrow and sign it from the due sept 08 thread. and say something how we wish her and her lo the best.

i wish we coulda done this for everyone on this thread. it would have been soo nice. i would have felt like i was still in tx.

gosh, i really miss texas. really really really.

Pitufina · 20/08/2008 16:06

mustsleep - I don't think the mucus has to be any colour.

nellyonthetelly · 20/08/2008 16:06

God I wish I'd get the nesting instinct - now I'm finished work the only instinct I'm getting is shopping! But did read something on Bounty which will pls all the other slummy mummies out there - using excessive household cleaning products during pregnancy increases asthma risk in baby - Always something innit? Anyway, Just been buying yet another tiny babygrow from H&M as well as a first size pram suity thingy which is like a sleeping bag at the bottom and has zips so will go into car seat harness ok. Also been looking at baby dolls for DD who will be 2 around same time - they're all too freaky though! And now I'm home, the Blooming Marvellous catalogue has just arrived, DD still at childminders so putting my feet up for half an hour instead of cleaning - Can't wait to hear about the latest baby from Sunshine - And the card is such a nice thought eandz... Right then, off for a lie down before an evening of aqua natal aerobics. XX

hopefully · 20/08/2008 16:25

Eandz I think that's a great idea - her name's definitely on the meetup thread, although I've totally forgotten what it is...

My nesting instinct has been limited at best! Perhaps due to the fact that I know we're moving only a few weeks after the birth, so it's not like this is the baby's 'proper' home.

Meglet hope the Relate goes well for your DP, I'm sure that and talking to your mum will help.

eandz · 20/08/2008 16:29

I just hope sunshinemummy doesn't feel like i'm stalking her...since only me or slinkie could have left the card.

Pitufina · 20/08/2008 16:36

I don't think she'd think you were a stalker. It's a lovely idea.
We're fast filling this thread up!! We obviously talking too much!!

mamamufin · 20/08/2008 17:00

Great news about sunshine cant wait to hear all .
Having a hectic day this end!

eandz · 20/08/2008 17:00

i like talking to you guys.

you guys, i'm trying soo hard to make this day go by really fast...

digitalgirl · 20/08/2008 17:12

Wow - how exciting another early arrival on the thread! Hope all went smoothly sunshinemummy!

Had lunch with the NCT ladies today and the first of us to drop brought her little boy along. He slept the whole way through lunch and was such a good little baby. I want one just like that!

Am knackered and working off the sofa. Too tempting to have a doze right now, but have quite a lot to do. Handover notes!! Last week of work next week .

On the baby names topic - we've been thinking a lot about Alfredo perhaps shortening it to Freddie (as opposed to Alfie, which so many friends of friends seem to have named their boys). It's Italian with English roots - which covers two out of the four nationalities that the baby will originate from (DH is half English half Polish, I'm half Italian, half Filipino). What do you ladies think??
