OKAY, scan is all good. HOORAY! But...(indulgent post ahoy)
I was there one and a half hours. They needed to look at her face to see if the nasal bone had grown in, which was how come I'd had to have a CVS (which came back normal). My obstetrician told me that in her career (and she's quite young!) she has delivered three chromosomally normal babies with no nasal bone - just a random physical abnormality. BUT WOULD MY LITTLE MINX SHOW HER FACE? Oh no. She is breech and her face was turned away. We had a great cross section of her bladder but it's not quite the same. The guy doing the scan had me doing star jumps (I am not joking) to see if it would shift her. Nothing. He pressed and manipulated my belly. Wouldn't shift. He sent me out for a brisk walk and a sweet drink for 20mins but I knew she hadn't moved. More belly pressing, which got very painful. At the last minute when we'd all resigned ourselves to having to return next week, she deigned to give us a quick flash of her little face, and there was a bright shiny nasal bone. So I have one blurry picture only...but I am still thrilled to bits.
I'm less thrilled that I have got MICE in my flat. They ate a half a huge Easter egg this week - I have had a bag of chocolate lying around since March as I don't like it much (yes, I am the only girl in the world) and it must have attracted them. They have also gone wild for a box of glittery purple sequins. Their nest must look like Shirley Bassey's boudoir. Not happy. Ugh and triple ugh. I don't really want to kill them but I don't want their nasty germs, so I might have to get onto Rentakill.
FINALLY, on the subject of work, I am taking nine months' maternity leave then working from home part time. I am also moving to the country as DP lives there, but keeping my flat in London and making many trips. I hope. Phew! I'll shut up now.
